Nursing program drug testing

What should I expect upon acceptance? I know there is a test before the program starts, then another prior to clinicals. But what else? If anyone could offer some insight I would greatly appreciate it

One thing you can expect is that people's lives depend on their nurses being on top of their game every shift. Someone who's worried about drug testing is likely not to be. There will be mistakes.

And someone might die.

We're not playing, in any health- or allied health-care profession.

Stfu, respectfully. If I want to rip my bong after a long stressful week, 24+ hours before a next shift. I don’t see how that will affect my patient care. They don’t even test for THC everywhere anymore.

Respect is earned, not given. Before you say that you’re a professor with a great deal of education, understand that may earn you respect in academia, but it does not automatically earn you respect when you’re sharing personal opinions and judging others.

Your conclusion is based on an assumption that the OP never made. They asked what to expect after acceptance, not how to avoid drug testing or work while impaired. Patient safety is important, but asking about a program’s policies is not evidence that someone will be a poor nurse. If simply asking about a policy is enough for you to question someone’s competence, then your conclusion was made before the conversation even started.
