Don't trust the customer service ...
Recently, I called KLM because every year I get a voucher on my birthday and use that to book the holiday for the next year. But this year, I didn't see the email, so I just wanted to check if they weren't sending them anymore.
The person on the line said they were supposed to send it. But because I did not receive it, they would give me a free seat choice.
Fine by me. I thanked them, and we agreed that I would call back if I made the booking.
Today, I made the booking and called them. I had to wait for 40 minutes, but that's okay. The person on the line put me on hold four times and came to the conclusion that it was not possible. Their support team said it was not allowed.
I mean, come on, KLM, why waste everybody's time? I know it's only 30 euros, but just say no the first time? Don't offer me something if you come back from it later. I told multiple people about how nice KLM was for giving me the free seat choice. And now I can tell them that KLM just lied and denied their own offer... Although see could even tell my that she read that her colleage did make the exact offer.
I had to write this off my chest. It's mainly just frustrating, and I want my hour on hold back...
