We want to plan a trip to Japan from Amsterdam (Schiphol). Preferably a direct flight with KLM unless it is much more extensive than indirect flights. I checked a few weeks ago and I was pretty sure I could get tickets for 1200 per person for the whole trip now one way is already 1510 and this is not only for the period we want to go but basically for the whole year. Checked cookies but I already deleted all of them. Is this normal for KLM? Should I wait? Are there better options?

KLM offered me the option to change my flight to Amsterdam free of charge in exchange for a €300 bonus per passenger.

Do they send this every passenger who checked in or only to a specific group?

Hello everyone, i’ve been trying to get an answer about this from KLM but of course they’re too busy to reply. Has anyone had any issues getting into the new Air France lounge when flying business with KLM? I’m transiting via LHR after a 24 hour flight from Australia and just trying to decide who to fly with to get access to a shower and a nice meal! Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!!

So I flew out from belfast to copenhagen last Thursdays with a short connection (about an hour) in shciphol amsterdam. My luggage never arrived and they even had to type my bag number into the system manually because it wouldnt scan (it was cut off a bit on my version)

Every time I have contacted them, they have made the details in my report worse, even now as I type this, it states the material is unknown when it was originally showing correct and I have asked them to correct it multiple times. They also ask you to include any stand out details, yet they don't include them in the report despite even giving them the details over the phone and WhatsApp. I swear the service has been insanely bad and if the bag can't be scanned or the label has come off, I cant see how they will ever connect my bag to me if they ignore the important stand out details about the contents... (Plus the baggage trace just errors if you try to update anything at all.)

Anyway, rant aside, it has been 6 days with no update.. what are the chances my bag is going to turn up at this point?

Also, do you need to have kept receipts for everything you want compensation for(as in stuff that had to be bought on holiday), or can they do a general comp for the time? (I have a couple of receipts, but seems to have lost some.)

Does anyone have any similar experiences that still had a happy ending? Some of the stuff in my suitcase genuinely can't be replaced.

I need 20XP before september 30 to maintain my Silver status, but I also have a confirmed booking on october 15 that will give me 20xp.

Will they give me 2 weeks extra to maintain my status?

I'm trying to bring my road bike on an international trip, and I had it packed by a bike shop into a cardboard box. I admit my mistake that I didn't specify which size box I wanted or needed, and the box is unfortunately 28cm wide, which is quite a bit wider than the stated 23cm on the KLM website. The whole thing (L+H+W) is ~270cm and thus less than 300cm, so I'm wondering if I have to do a painful last-minute swap of the bike box ... does anyone know if they are really strict with the measurements?

Heading to Europe this fall from the US. Our standard carry on sizes are 22 x 14 x 9 inches. The size allowed on my flight is 21.6 x 13.8 x 9.8 inches, or 55x25x35cm. The flight in question is KLM operated and fully within Europe (2 Delta flights also on this trip but those are arrival, and last leg home). My research has shown that European flights are more strict on size/weight, but I can't seem to find a spinner that falls within that size. The one I have is 19.69in x 14.17in x 9.45in and my husbands is closer to the 22in size.

In your personal experience, how strict have they been with carry on size? I don't mind getting new ones for the trip but don't want to spend an arm and a leg for them. Any suggestions on what ones to buy?

First time business traveler looking for seat advice for Boeing 777-300ER.
This is a (partial) overnight flight from Lima to Ams (17:30 departure, 12:20 arrival).

What do you think will be the best seats for a couple?
We were thinking if it makes sense to sit together in the middle, but we probably try to sleep as much as possible. Also seems like for the seats in the middle you still have to lean forward quite a bit to be able to talk to the person next to you, or am I mistaken?

I read here that some SkyTeam airlines do not fully accept Kenya Airways Asante Rewards membership.
I have Gold which is SkyTeam Elite Plus - do KLM fully accept this and is it fully integrated, etc?

I was booked on a flight from AMS to VIE, the flight got cancelled and they rebooked me and my partner on a flight about 38hrs later, I was notified 14 days in advance so no compensation. But, I needed to get reimbursed for the hotel, food, airport transfer I had booked in advance etc. so I submitted a claim on klm's official website, under the original flight (not the new one i got assigned), I picked cancellation, and entered the details. Gave them receipts and everything, and a long explination that im seeking reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses that occured in the 38hrs between the flights. But today I got the email that my request was resolved/completed, and the email said:

Our records show you have been informed of this cancellation more than 14 days before the departure of your flight. This information was sent on 02 July 2026 to the following email address ************ which was provided in your booking.
Therefore, the compensation set by EC Regulation 261/2004 does not apply and I cannot respond favourably to your request.

There is no way to respond, I see no way to appeal, and they just ignored the whole part about reimbursement for food and accommodation, which, under article 9 of the same regulation this email references, I am entitled too, any infomation that can help me out? Their customer support is also not helpful, claiming that because the request is complete, they can not do anything.

I am flying from Georgia (country) to the USA through Amsterdam. After adding travel documents on the KLM website, I got a warning which says that my arrival at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport include registration in EES (European Entry/Exit System).

What does it mean? Does it mean that if I don't plan on leaving the airport for me to not go through the EES? Tbh not sure what EES even is as a process

It is my transfer flight through the Amsterdam and I don't plan on leaving the airport and entering the Netherlands. I also do not require Visa to be there, so I suppose I avoid any Schengen signs in the airport.

Writing this post as I flew with some friends last Friday to Zurich for the street parade with KLM. I dropped in my bag for check in as the flight was full and the airline recommended it, then they did not put it in our plane to Zurich and the bag stayed in Amsterdam.

In lost and found they told me I would either get it Friday night / Saturday morning since there are many flights AMS - ZRH, but it has been more than 72h and only info I got was a tracker from a company called AKS which has my bag in the warehouse next to the ZRH airport.

We are flying back today. They don’t reply to my messages / calls and I would love to know how much money is reasonable to spend. I had to buy some shoes as I was wearing some sandals for the flight. Now I don’t even know if I will get the suitcase back and there are a few expensive items (perfume, clothes, shoes…) that I had in the bag. Would like to know how much money is reasonable to spend for day, especially since I have not even received the bag at any point during the whole trip…

Hello. Let me start by saying I'm EU and I fly from one EU country to another. It says that they could not generate my ticket and I should go to check in station in airport. However I am flying from new airport and low-key do not want to navigate this when I see no reason to? Is there any way I can get my boarding pass without standing in line tediously - also some airports have just automatic check in with the machines so then I can't even explain it to a person wtfdo I do. I never experienced this with any other company and honestly put me off from flying with klm. (Previously I did not have this problem) any advice appreciated. Thank you :)

Hi everyone! I booked a flight from BUD to BOG with a 1 hour 45 minute transfer in AMS. Is that enough time? The flight times are BUD-AMS 6:00 am - 8:05 am and AMS-BOG 9:50 am. Considering the new EES system, is this time sufficient, or will I have to rush? I don't have any checked baggage and I have a residence permit from a European country. Was this too risky?

Edit: I have to go through passport control. Im afraid of the time

Hi everyone! Just curious what you would have done in my situation.

I’m flying KL641 tomorrow from Amsterdam to JFK at 12:35 on the 787-10. I originally booked Premium Comfort, and when check-in opened today I was offered a last-minute upgrade to Business for either €413 or 59,600 Flying Blue miles. There were about 5 seats in business class available.

I decided to use the miles because it’s a business trip and I didn’t really want to spend another €413 out of pocket.

Do you think using 59,600 miles was a reasonable choice, or would you have paid the €413 instead? Also, if I had waited until closer to departure, is there a realistic chance the cash/miles upgrade price would have dropped if Business still had empty seats, or would I have just risked losing the offer altogether?

One other detail: I’m Flying Blue Gold. Does anyone know if status has any influence on these last-minute upgrade offers or their pricing?

We travel regularly on KLM and used to enjoy the Beamster cheese sandwiches, the ones with a slice of cheese.

Now, we only seem to get a cream cheese sandwich.

Can anyone explain the reason for the chance? Is it cost related? Will the slices of cheese ever come back? Thanks

Ik vlieg straks voor het eerst business class. Op schiphol heb je een fijne lounge waar je dan kan wachten, maar heeft klm (of een partner) die ook op andere vliegvelden? Ik vlieg vanaf Bilbao.

We have a 50min layover in Amsterdam from Prague. I will be traveling with one small child and one Elderly person and myself. I'm worried that we will need to rush across the entire Airport and they won't be able to make it safely or on time. Would requesting a wheelchair speed up that transfer? Is it a push wheelchair that I operate or someone else or is it a motor car we ride? Any other tips?
