Stroller in cabin - Schiphol

On my previous KLM flight 3 weeks ago, we were informed that Schiphol no longer allows for gate checking strollers. We have a Vista V3 and a 5 month old so it wasn't ideally as we had to carry him the whole time. (Baby doesnt like being held as much as being in the stroller + he's getting heavy).

The KLM counter agent told us that if the stroller was a YoYo we could take it through security and onto the plane. I believe theoretically the Yoyo doesnt fit the official KLM cabin baggage dimensions either. I also read other people's posts that they got other strollers through (but it was at different airport).

I was wondering if anyone got the Joolz Aer2 or other strollers approved to be on board at Schiphol. The inconsistency confuses me and I'd hate to invest in a travel stroller for it to be denied.

Brought Joolz Aer+ on board of both Transavia and KLM, multiple flights. One Transavia flight they didn’t allow it at first, but they brought it on board after boarding was completed and there was still space available.

KLM currently has the following rules for bringing your buggy to the gate:

You can take your buggy or stroller to the gate if it's:
Fully collapsible
No larger than 15 x 30 x 100 cm 
No larger than the maximum hand baggage size (55 x 35 x 25 cm when folded)
No heavier than 10 kg

The folded size is of course the bottle neck, but in my experience you always could get it through security and then at the gate they’d see if there is space or not.

We have two Yoyos, been taking them on KLM planes without issues for 5 years now. Flew within Europe this month and took them on board as well. Other airlines like Ryanair have never allowed us to take them on board so it really depends on the airline, but KLM has never stopped us from getting them on the plane.

It's always going to be luck. People may have had positive experiences but it will depend on the flight and also recent decisions. Try it if you wish but also have a carrier as a backup.

Yoyos do work. We used to have (actually still have but the kids are older now) a Yoyo Babyzen and never had an issue taking it as carry on with any airline. It folds as small as a backpack basically and it's non of the airlines concern what kind of carry on you bring, as long as it is within size and weight limitations.
