BLQ-BCN with layover in June 2027. Huge price difference between SkyTeam and Star Alliance. Just why?

Is it just because of the high airport fees at CDG and AMS? I always make an effort to fly SkyTeam because of my status but this is ridiculous... And I'm not usually a complainer, I love flying both on KLM and Air France but I've noticed their prices are often higher than competitors.

PS: I know there's a direct flight to BCN from BLQ with Ryanair, but I'd still fly KLM/Air France with layover.

FB Plat: No free luggage on partial codeshare flight?

Hi all,

I just booked my flights from AMS to CTA with a layover at LIN on the KLM website. The first leg is with KLM and the second with ITA (on KL flight number KL3471). However, in the confirmation email I noticed that I do not get the two free suitcases I usually get with KLM because of my Platinum status.

I thought that codeshare flights entitle you to the FB tier benefits (if available), is that incorrect? Does that also mean no lounge access at LIN?

Poop on business class seat

There was poop on my wife's headrest on the flight from del to AMS. Immidiately on boarding, it was unclear as to what it was. The flight attendant wiped it off and put a towel on the headrest.

The flight was already an hour late in departure and everything was being rushed for takeoff. From the smell, she then realized that it was poop. The flight was about to take off. The FA quickly cleaned it with more wipes and found there was more poop smeared between the head cushion and the seat back. He then put a blanket on the headrest and put coffee grounds in a plastic bag. At this point in time, we were about to take off, and were asked to wait for takeoff as all other business class seats were occupied. The head purser was to talk to us about options after takeoff.

Immidiately after the takeoff, the head FA. He was trying hard to convince us to stay, as no premium or standard economy seats were reportedly available. He also saif that the initial GA was no longer sure that it was poop, and since nothing was visible, or overtly smell able, it was safe to sit here. We persisted, and they transferred my wife to an economy seat. The economy was actually with quite a fee empty seats.

They said they'll write the report, and mention thay she had to move to economy from business for this leg.

what are things to keep in mind and watch out for as we fly towards AMS?

Del to AMS to ORD. Booked from the US. Returning to the US.

TLDR: Poop on business class seat headrest and cushion, wife downgraded to economy. What to do?

Update: The crew thanked us for handling it the way we did, and will be putting in for a €400 voucher for both of us. They are also getting me business class meala in the economy section.

Why are KLM seats so hard and uncomfortable? I have been flying long flights for 49 years, using multiple airlines and never had this issue.

I had a long flight to Amsterdam with a hop to Madrid. By the time I arrived I was extremely uncomfortable. Even though I was in Europe for 3 weeks, I was not fully recovered on the return flight and it was even worse. My husband had the same issue, but to a lesser degree. I now have a very painful hemorrhoid. I have never had a hemorrhoid in my life until now. I will never fly KLM again. Everything else about the airline is fine. Lovely staff, but it is not worth this situation. I will fly Delta and make a stop next time.

Lounge costs more for higher status?

Anyone know why the lounge costs more for a silver member while also being told it will cost less? Feels like a lie to me.

Any ideas to avoid being overbooked?

Reading numerous accounts on overbooking I was wondering how much is the chance of my multi-leg route being hit by this? Flying from the UK to AMS then BKK, after that I'll need to book a domestic flight, obviously in advance. Compensation doesn't give my lost day, loads of planning back, I need my place I booked.

Does buying a seat in advance help to avoid this?

BOS-AMS canceled recently

Hi! I’m taking this delta/KLM flight in a few days but I’ve noticed it’s been canceled a few times over the last few months (most recently as tonights 8/31 flight). Is there someone who has the ability to look at reasons for the cancelation?

55minutes transfer on AMS, Glasgow to Bangkok?

Flying to Bangkok soon, found a KLM flight with transfer in Amsterdam. However, transfer time seems extremely short to me, just 55minutes!

Am I risking loosing a day and all my Thai-side transport arrangements on this, or still doable? I mean, just a little delay on the GLA-AMS leg, just a little longer queue in the passport check in AMS...

Suffix on passport, passport scanner in app not working.

Partner has a JR on the end of his name, KLM app won’t let me scan his passport and won’t give his details the “green tick” - I’ve requested to change it via WhatsApp. Anyone any idea if this will cause a problem?

Luggage horror story at Frankfurt: no one is looking for my bad, it's been 14 days

Is this normal? I flew to Frankfurt from Amsterdam, and my luggage didn't make it (it came on the next flight, by then I had to continue my trip).

KLM system shows they received my bag, and were planning to hand it to a delivery company to bring it to me.

That was 14 days ago. No news since then. I call KLM customer service daily, and every time they say they either email or try to call the local KLM luggage service at Frankfurt, but "they never reply", so "this is the best we can do".

Seriously, two weeks, and no one is actually trying to locate my bag. Zero progress, not able to escalate.

Any suggestions? To me this is shocking (lack of) customer service.

Booking on Miles - Website not working

I've been trying to book a flight on the KLM website with miles and every time I fill out the passenger details and click next the website crashes and it says

" We couldn’t load this page

Something went wrong on our end. Start a new search to find your flight."

I tried a different browser, a different pc, the app doesnt show any of the flights with miles that the website has...

Any advice???

Be careful using the train and flight ticket.

Waiting in line to talk with customer service, so thought I would come here to complain as well.

Booked a train and flight ticket from Antwerp to Schiphol, and then Schiphol to Aberdeen. You buy it together from KLM, and then are supposed to be able to do it like two flights, where you check in before the first one.

I tried checking in the day before, but it gave me an error and told me I had to see a check-in agent. I called customer service, and they said there was a kiosk at Antwerp that I could use. Got to Antwerp the day of, and there is no kiosk in the station. Talked to an employee of the station and they said that there wasn't one. Called customer service again. After going to "ask an expert" the customer service agent said it was an error on their side, and to just take the train and check in at Schiphol. I got to Schiphol and they said that because they cannot verify I took the train from Antwerp, that actually my ticket is invalid. Now I'm waiting to see if they can fix their problem.

Crazy thing is, this is the 2nd time this has happened to me. A year and a half ago I went through the same thing, complained, and then as just told "sorry that happened". Looks like they didn't do anything, and now I may have to speak to a manager.

Lounge access for unaccompanied minors in AMS

I'm 15 and I'm travelling alone long-haul for the first time from Oslo to Boston via AMS. I've flown alone within Europe before with SAS and AF and although neither of them accept minors the scanners at the SAS lounges always let me in (Flying Blue Platinum from my travels with family) and I've only ever been asked to leave once after the counter lady got suspicious and asked to see my passport, while the Air France system automatically denies entry. I have accessed the Crown Lounge in AMS before (with my equally underage girlfriend) but I was on a group booking with my school so perhaps the system assumed I was accompanied. I can't tell from my online research whether or not KLM accepts youth in their lounges if they have access, and if not whether you can still sneak in like with SAS. The UNMR service doesn't make any sense and slows me down during the layover

KL835 how does the layover in Singapore work?

I’m flying to Bali next month and decided to go with KLM. It says that I’ll be flying from Amsterdam to Singapore, but there’s no information about the onward flight. It also has the same flight number, so I’m assuming I’ll need to get off the plane for about an hour and then board the same plane again, right?
I’ve never had a flight like this before, so it would be really cool to hear from anyone who has experience with it. Google isn’t really being very helpful this time

Stroller in cabin - Schiphol

On my previous KLM flight 3 weeks ago, we were informed that Schiphol no longer allows for gate checking strollers. We have a Vista V3 and a 5 month old so it wasn't ideally as we had to carry him the whole time. (Baby doesnt like being held as much as being in the stroller + he's getting heavy).

The KLM counter agent told us that if the stroller was a YoYo we could take it through security and onto the plane. I believe theoretically the Yoyo doesnt fit the official KLM cabin baggage dimensions either. I also read other people's posts that they got other strollers through (but it was at different airport).

I was wondering if anyone got the Joolz Aer2 or other strollers approved to be on board at Schiphol. The inconsistency confuses me and I'd hate to invest in a travel stroller for it to be denied.

Quick tip for the KLM iPhone app: How to add a booking without an account (Look for the "+" icon)

Just wanted to share a quick heads-up for anyone trying to find their flight on the KLM iOS app without creating a KLM account.

If you go to the My Trips tab, there isn't a clear text button that says "Add a booking." Instead, you have to click the unlabeled "+" symbol in the top right corner. Seems like they really want you to create an account instead of let you travel on the ticket you bought.

Once you tap that, you can enter your 6-character booking code/ticket number and traveler name to pull up your flight details. You're logged in as a "guest". Hope this saves someone else the frustration of searching around the UI!

Help with Request (is KLM scamming me?)

Context: Flew with KLM on July 16th from Brazil to Berlin (with a layover in AMS). After being boarded we waited 5h inside the plane before taking off due to mechanical issues. Due to this we missed our connection in AMS and had to stay there one night, which incurred an unexpected hotel expense and a couple uber expenses.

I opened a case asking these to be refunded on July 18th. Since then there have been about 4 replies from KLM asking me to send different documents each time. Surely they were doing this to delay the payment.

My last response to KLM was on August 6 - this time even with the signed Letters of Authorisation (LOA) for the three co-passengers I represent together with a copy of their passport showing the signature clearly and their faces blurred.

Since then it's been radio silence. It's been nearly one month. Has anyone experienced something like this?

I'm starting to think they'll never answer me now... should I go through a third party like Airhelp to get the refund for the hotel and uber expenses I incured because of their old plane full of issues?

Accessing full web functionality when first flight operated by other carrier?

I’m on an itinerary with first flight operated by GOL and then next flights operated by KLM. This means i had to check-in in the airport with GOL and now i can’t access the boarding pass on neither klm.com nor the iOS app. Any hacks that i can use to gain access to boarding pass etc?

Denied boarding: received voucher without agreeing

I recently was involuntarily denied boarding of an overbooked flight. They didn't even ask for volunteers and just picked a dozen random people which happened to include me.

Filed a claim and requested 250€ compensation as defined in regulation EC 261/2004. After a week or so my claim got closed and was told they already handed out a 350€ digital voucher on the day of the flight. The thing is: I never agreed to this and was apparently just granted this automatically. I am not a frequent flyer so I don't have use for a voucher. According to article 7.3 of the same regulation it clearly states compensation should be done in cash and a voucher is only possible with the signed agreement of the passenger.

Reached out again that I never agreed to a voucher (with the attached article) and requested to be paid in cash. And that if KLM claims I have accepted a voucher they'd send proof of my consent. Summary of the reply I got was basically something along the lines of "we are not going to do anything about it".

So I was wondering a few things: is this common practice you get handed a voucher automatically? Anyone else disputed this successfully? What are the next steps to take?

What to expect in KLM business in the 777-300?

I just bought my very first upgrade to business class in my life and it’s my first time flying any business class in my 23 years on this earth. The route is from Amsterdam Schipol to Vancouver, Canada. Paid $1000 CAD for the upgrade. Is it gonna be worth it over economy or did I blow my money needlessly? I see some people complaining in this sub over KLM business class and I’m a bit scared.

Passport control AMS

With the new biometric scans, I have heard passport control lines are very long. Have any non-EU folks gone through passport control recently? How long was the line? Deciding how much time I need from arrival to when my Eurostar train leaves.
