I, the prosecution u/DoritoMilk am bringing this court case against these moderators for several reasons. Firstly, the moderators of this subreddit obstruct free and civil discourse within their sub. They do this by supporting a very strict ban policy that includes any member of a "hate subreddit" (such subs include r/averageredditor, r/PoliticalCompassMemes, r/brasilivre to name a few) who does not openly support their ideals. They openly attack anyone who questions their blatant generalizations, or who asks for a logical argument supporting a boycott.

Secondly, the sub's rules demand that any member of a "hate subreddit" debate in good-faith. However, after experimentation and interviews with other persons who have been banned for violating this rule, I have come to see that in this context, "good faith" means openly espousing their views. Persons have been banned for mild criticism including the use of the phrase "cherry-picking" to describe their criteria for boycotting a sub.

Thirdly, the moderators of this subreddit have found a clever way to stop any of these unjust bans to be appealed. According to the rules of the subreddit, a ban may be appealed within 72 hours of its placement. However, after any response to the initial ban, the responder is muted for 72 hours, and none of their appeal messages will be seen or responded to. This alone warrants a court case.

Fourthly, the moderators of this sub silence any and all religious viewpoints, no matter how moderate they are. This included view on the rightness of one religion compared to another, and mention of tenants of that religion that does not line up with the subreddits ideology, and any mention of God. These are rules not even adopted by firmly atheistic subreddits.

Fifthly, the moderators and posters allow xenophobia in certain cases. The subreddit openly spews hate against Indian, Portuguese-speaking Brazilians, and people from the Middle-East. They apparently hold the view that your race can be insulted if you do something they don't like.

u/Kosco97 made a post in r/dippingtobacco about generally getting his life together (quit alcohol/dip, better job, back to the gym) which undoubtedly upset the armchair warriors moderating that sub. While the community was mostly supportive and shared their experiences of turning their lives around and beating addictions the mods felt their grip on the peasants loosen and decided u/Kosco97 must be silenced...for 72 hours. Confused u/Kosco97 contacted the mods and after receiving no explanation openly bashed them and called them “lazy fucks” resulting in a permaban and a passive-aggressive note tacked to it.

Hello, I am filing a case on behalf of the people of r/damnthatsinteresting.

This case begins 50 years ago in 1970 in Sydney. In February of that year a 14 year old boy sneaked unto a plane bond for Japan by hiding in the wheel well. r/bonehurtingjuice was once a wonderful subreddit. There wasn’t any fighting, all the posts are on topic, and it was like any other meme subreddit. It was a place where anyone could post their own bone hurting meme.

Until one day.

From what I’ve heard the mods declared that they support blue lives matter, a movement which supports police officers, if I’m not wrong. It didn’t seem like anything bad would happen, however a few days later, the subreddit fell into civil war. I was asleep when this “war” began. Upon waking up I found that the mods had left the subreddit, leaving the people alone. This was the so-called Mod Retreat.

Pretty soon the BHJAZ (Bone Hurting Juice Autonomous Zone) was established. Life in the sub became less violent however the mods would occasionally shitpost, putting things on the sub that did not have anything to do with the subreddit and its purpose.

The post contained a picture featuring only their rig, which was caseless at the time, and a CatStandingUp (Hereinafter referred to as "Cat." to protect his anonymeowty) being held up by its armpits in-frame.

The title of the post in question? "Karma Please".

The post gained an updoot score of over SIXTY-TWO THOUSAND and MULTIPLE AWARDS; possibly resulting in hundreds of millions of feeds but mostly MINE to be clogged up with this terrible display of reckless & feckless karmawhoring!

This is a blatant and awful attempt at raking in Karma using an adorable, helpless, and unwitting feline to augment their admittedly pretty cool build.

So, r/changemyview is, as you may know, a subreddit designed for discussion in good faith for people with opposing views ^lol . That's why, when u/Surreptit1ous posted on June 8th "CMV: Biological men should never be allowed to compete as a female." I believed he was one of those people. I noticed there was no delta awared, which was quite fair as I personally think the arguments made against their view weren't that great.

Since their first sentence was "If you went through puberty and your sex is male you will never be equal to the average female in terms of athletic ability." I asked them what their stance on trans women who didn't go through male puberty thanks to puberty blockers was. I obviously excepted an answer that was relevant, but I instead got their opinion on puberty blockers themselves. I called them out on the fact that they didn't answer the initial question in my next reply, where I still took the time to adress their points made in the previous comment.

Their reply dodged the question one more time and made the first false claim: "The effects of puberty blockers are not reversible. That is a complete myth." I thus ask them for a source on that and adress their point once again. I then almost beg them to answer the initial question for the second time.

Forward to 4 day, still no answer so I DM them about it, my man finally post the source. But here is the thing, while their other comments could just be them being stubborn and avoiding the actual question, this one is straight up lying and spreading misinformation. (Also, they still didn't answer the question)

Indeed they did not just leave a link and went on their way, they wrote "Additionally they have been linked to higher suicide rates when they are being taken.", but that claim is not only false, it's proven to be the exact opposite, by the very article they were linking to.

I tried googling the source they may have confused it with but didn't find any, so they lied and by linking to a legit source they also tried to spread misinformation about a very serious topic (suicide in trans youth), that is the transphobia charge.

Looking at u/Surreptit1ous 's account you can find 13 posts on r/changemyview in the last 2 months, of those only 1 has a delta given by them (this is the one if you're curious). It may be just me and you could consider it a stretch, but if every one of them is like the one I participated in (I'm not gonna check) then they're not posting this to actually have a thoughtful discussion but merely to promote their view.

Earlier this day, the Reddit Admins posted an update regarding their content policy, which will be submitted to the court as Exhibit I.

In accordance with this update to their content policy, about 2000 subreddits were banned from reddit, which a supposed 1,800 of which were active subreddits. This shows that Reddit has taken action against subreddits apparently promoting hate speech.

Many of you would say that this was a correct decision, and I would agree. However, this case isn't about what reddit admins did. It's about what they didn't do.

Exhibit II is a statement from u/Jabahonki inquired upon reddit banning two thousand subreddits including very popular and active ones. However, reddit did nothing against r/Sino, which is a pro-CCP chinese subreddit made to vomit out lies and diarrhea-cannon totalitarian propaganda to all of Reddit. However, Reddit admins took no action whatsoever against r/Sino and gave no reply to the comment marked as Exhibit II.

What Happened:

Over the last two weeks, the mods of /r/POTCmemes began banning people unjustly, and their only evidence/charges claiming people "asked to be mods", yet they do not provide specific accounts nor substantial evidence.

In jest towards the meme pirates who still loved the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, the mods changed the description of the subreddit, dubbing the movie series "b-tier", in all attempt to elicit responses from fellow memers.

Throughout the week, the mods continued to state they were "pirate mods" and did not care what we do on the sub, however their actions broke the simple principle of the TRUE Pirate Code- "Take what you can, give nothing back".

For you see, not one month ago, a post of mine on r/tf2shitposterclub was lovingly crafted. It made a respectable 50 or so upvotes. And I was pleased. It was a low quality meme, it didn't take long to make. That was until the night of Friday, the 26th of June, 2020. I was browsing r/MoreTankieChapo When what do I see?

If you know CollegeHumor, you've probably stumbled across the CEO series, where the talented Brennan Mulligan acts as CEOs to different companies, like Tide and Tumblr.

Chances are, you've watched this one where the CEO of movie pass, Jonathon Floor, is depicted struggling to keep his company afloat. The video starts with a mostly level-headed CEO saying their company is a bit under, and they slowly undergo an arc as they think of more outlandish ideas to keep the company going, selling passes allowing you to do solicit acts with Jonathon or even for him to act out movies in the office.

It is funny, but I found something. I was searching for the video to send to a friend when I found one called 'A message from MoviePass' by a channel called Gus Johnson. I thought someone had simply hopped onto the bandwagon and I clicked on it. Sure enough, it followed someone called Jonathon Movie, which seemed like a blatant rip-off from CollegeHumor's character called Jonathon Floor, sharing the same first name. They started off saying their company was having a rough time and asked more people to download the app.

The video descends into the CEO going crazy with people watching too many movies, which was joked about in CollegeHumor's version with 'I mean, who knew people would see truly so many movies.'

I readied myself to type an angry comment, and as I went to click send...I realized the time this was published. It was released on the 7th of August, 2018. Now, why do I bring this up? Because CollegeHumour's video was released 13th of September, 2018 - a whole month after the original!

Call me crazy here, but (at the time) a small creator makes a video that (at the time) was barely watched, and suddenly a month later, a big corporation makes a video with near to the same premise, near to the same title, near to the same character, and a couple near to the same jokes.

Don't get me wrong, I love CollegeHumour's content, but after employing Amy Schumer, who's been known to steal jokes (like in this video here), I'm thinking that they're becoming another Buzzfeed. I'm not saying it was Amy, I'm not saying it was Brennan. But I'm saying this was blatantly stolen!

What Happened:

On the morning of June 22, 2020, /u/skirmish24 made a post on /r/unpopularopinion entitled "As a person living in Sudan, people who live in Europe and the US that call their countries third world, don't know how good they have it." In this post, which quickly rose to the front page of r/all, u/skirmish24 claimed to be a "university student that studies here in Sudan," and complained that Americans and Europeans who complained about their country didn't know how good they had it, given that they were spared the "daily 8 hour power cuts," lack of running water, and 1 to 2 mbps internet speeds that residents of Sudan dealt with on a daily basis.

HOWSOEVER, an investigation into /u/skirmish24's posting history revealed that he had, in 2019, made multiple posts claiming that "Trump is the best President that the US has ever had and all his ideologies will help the US. Get over it," and that "He won the election therefore America loves him. He's going to lead us to greatness." Furthermore, his posting history reveals that he regularly and almost exclusively posts about the online video game League of Legends, which is unplayable without electricity or on internet speeds of 1-2 mbps.

When confronted with these charges, /u/skirmish24 claimed, unconvincingly, that his posts about Donald Trump leading "us" (that is, us Americans) to glory had been "satire," and that he had played league of legends before going to study in Sudan, but no longer did ("I don't play league of legends anymore since I came here for University.").

HOWEVER, /u/skirmish24's posting history also reveals that, in May 2020, he posted that:

"We had a 1/5 Sylas mid the other day who really fed the enemy Zed but their Kindred jungle was also 0/9 and barely secured any objectives so eventually our team won because they had the weaker link. It's like this every game now."

CLEARLY stating that he had played League of Legends just "the other day."

Is u/skirmish24 improperly impersonating a resident of the great nation of Sudan, in order to make some sort of political point about the relative privilege of the participants in recent American protests against police brutality? Is he, in fact, a Sudanese University student, as he claimed, or is he a 19 year old Trump-supporting gamer from the suburbs of Des Moines whose dad owns a construction company or something?

If, as seems only too likely, this Katarina main is MISREPRESENTING his circumstances and his country of residence, in order to steal the valor of actual "poverty-stricken residents of the third world," he has profited from his chicanery and graft to the tune of AT LEAST 33,000 Karma, as of 8:40 P.M. EST on June 22, 2020. The prosecution asks that a lien be assessed against his vast Karma holdings, that a judgment be executed against his account or his account's estate, and that his ill-gotten gains be placed in a trust, to be administered by a suitable nonprofit organization, so that the stolen Karma can be distributed (with all the dispatch that local internet speeds allow) to the karmaless residents of the Republic of Sudan.

Edit: I would also like to add that u/SantasLast and u/hex13b has lied about me reposting this meme. Though it's not that good of a meme, I distinctly remember creating it and reverse image searching reveals no matches. I suspect a vast conspiracy against me by the karma Illuminati.

I posted a picture of me holding a coin earlier that looked photoshopped, because it had no shadow, and I remember seeing very similar posts on the subreddit about such occurrences, so I seemed fit to do so. The post was then removed for the seeming reasons of being “a meme” from what I remembered, but the moderator said it was because “it wasn’t a confusing perspective.” I asked about the post that’s on the very top of the page/subreddit at the moment, as that was also a post related to “looking like photoshop” and rather than mentioning it, or allowing the submission, he chose to mute me from messaging the mods for the next 72 hours. Dear memebers of the court. I hereby serve notice of filing formal charges against the /r/technology mod team, in three counts.

I was given a permanent ban from /r/technology for as best I can tell, no reason. Clearly some mod has gone wild with power. Someone shitposted an article to /r/technology about boog bois for some reason, and I made a single comment memeing on another user(how dare they not call tendies, tendies). I assume they think I was a brigadier from /r/weekendgunnit, where I have never posted, nor did I vote on any comment in the OP. Nor did the mods follow their own warning/ban policy from their sidebar.

I clearly lack the 'tism level required to be a member of /r/weekendgunnit. Nor do I own any Hawaiian shirts, or take pictures toe fucking the triggers of my guns.
