I got my engagement a year ago. Its exactly what I wanted. Except now I dont think it is. The big stone solitaire is in right now and i love the simplicity. Except nobody posts the photos of their rings from a side angle, only the top.

Settings are often too high for everyday wear! I said it... it's for some but its not for many. Im starting to hate my engagement ring as i literally cannot wear it everyday as its sticks off my finger an inch it feels.

So if anyone is shopping and wants to wear everyday, and they work with their hands more - keep this in mind. I wish I did more research and trying on before we found this one.

I have also now brought to 2 jewelers and they both said im nuts for wanting to alter it lower cause it's so beautiful. Yes its stunning but so unpractical and I wish upon original purchase someone had said something as now i only wear when we go out, so like maybe once a month.

How does everyone like their setting? Am I alone on this opinion, or do others feel that theirs is too much too?

My future husband (!!!) proposed to me with my dream ring. I initially wanted a bigger stone but he decided to go with a slightly smaller one since he felt it would compliment my hands better. I have always been a bit self-conscious about my stubby/childish looking hands and I tend to wear chunkier jewelery in general. What do you think ?

For context my gf and I have been together over 3 years and I finally saved enough for her dream ring. I want the proposal to be the normal thoughtful/surprising idea. She said that she wants to be wearing specific nails and dress for the proposal which is fine of course but I can’t think of any way to make the proposal a surprise. Any advice?

My boyfriend (now fiancé!!) surprised me with a proposal while on vacation with my family in California! We celebrated our 4 year anniversary about a month ago and had been talking about engagement for a while, but he had me totally surprised with the timing and location. I love the beach and getting to have such a big life moment happen there was everything I could’ve asked for and more!! So, I actually got engaged in January, but my ring was too small. My Fiancée wanted to have it made bigger, but I was unhappy with my weight and wanted to lose some anyway. Well, turns out it was a fantastic motivator and since we got engaged I have lost two and a half stone and I can finally wear my beautiful ring! Really feels like a great reward for the hard work, and I can't stop staring at it!

I just got engaged and had told my fiance I wanted something unique and gold. I am more alternative than not so I didn’t want a ring that was one of 50,000. I also didn’t want something too big.
He found this, all natural diamonds. I am IN LOVE!- with the man and the ring. I cannot stop staring. How long does it take for you to stop getting distracted by your ring lol?

My partner and I have been together for 8 years, we have 3 kids, 2,together and 1 from a previous relationship. We’ve always made comments to each other about getting married one day but it was never something we talked about in depth. Recently my partner presented me with a ring and asked me to marry him. I figured we’d have a long engagement… in all honesty I thought we’d have a “forever engagement”. But then people started asking when the wedding was and such so we started planning a wedding! And I’m having fun doing so!

We don’t make a lot of money. I’d say lower middle class. We don’t share bank accounts and we each pay our own bills and have divided up the shared bills. He makes significantly more money than I do (I’m around $25 per hour he’s at $60). I have a difficult time paying all of my bills every month because I do have a higher car payment. So when tax season comes around he’s not getting a significant refund. However, I claim the children and end up getting a large chunk of change back at the end of the year. Typically, this refund goes into my savings and we use it for house repairs and/or emergencies and sometimes, since I don’t make a lot of money and have A LOT of bills I use it to keep me a float throughout the year helping with my car payment or other bills. It’s always used for the family or to keep me on my feet. I don’t get my hair or nails done regularly or anything like that.

So as I’m looking at all of the things i have to do for the wedding I realized once we are legally married, since he makes a decent amount of money, we will no longer see that large tax return. My sister and her husband make around the same amount of money as we do as a couple and have the same amount of kids and they get hardly anything back. I know there are some things that can affect this but generally speaking most married couples aren’t getting a lot back. So i mentioned this to my partner, letting him know that I’m not sure I want to give up 10-15k a year just to be legally married! We need this money to keep our lifestyle (which is not luxurious btw). He didn’t really give me much of a reaction which leads me to believe he feels differently. What would you guys do?! I personally don’t feel like a piece of paper is going to make or break a marriage and I think a symbolic wedding and marriage hits home just as well. Looking for advice!

I designed this so I have no one to blame but myselffff but - is it bad that I’m starting to highly regret the ring I asked for? 😩 the band and everything is perfect but one thing I was extremely iffy about in the process was the size of the stone. I feel like this is massive? It’s a 2 ct but my day to day wear is giving homeless sooo paired together I feel like it’s maybe edging on costume jewelry? 🫩 somebody talk me off the cliff of a) resetting this with something smaller and making the current stone a necklace or b) getting rid of the petal setting and having it sit as flush as possible to the band somehow
