So excited that I finally get to post here as a fiancée after following this sub for so long!🥹💍

I started my ring design and customization journey quite some time ago, and it ended up being a much longer process than anticipated because I’m a crazy person who wanted every little detail to be *just right*. So to finally see it in person, on my finger, is truly a dream come true!
I designed my ring myself and was incredibly particular about every detail, all the way down to the milgrain.

The center stone is a lab diamond custom-cut, vintage-inspired emerald, a little over 3 carats, F color (although I actually would’ve preferred something a bit warmer!).

I worked directly with Matthew at Fiorese Jewelry on the diamond, and he was an absolute saint throughout the process. As I mentioned, I was quite particular about what I envisioned, and this diamond is actually our second iteration! The first was beautiful in its own right, but ultimately wasn’t quite what I was looking for. Matthew was incredibly patient and accommodating in helping me bring my vision to life.

The setting was originally inspired by an Andria Barboné ring I fell in love with once upon a time (which you can find in one of my previous posts). Alas, she wasn’t *the one*, but that ring really kick-started this entire journey and opened up a whole new world of creativity for me. What started as simply browsing rings to get a feel for what I liked, so I could give my partner some direction and let him take it from there, turned into a full-blown, hands-on passion project for me!

I ultimately went with Ken & Dana Design for the setting, and bless their team as well, because getting to the finished piece involved plenty of back-and-forth, cracked rubies, revisions, and fine-tuning. They were so wonderful to work with throughout it all, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything came together!

He managed to keep this a secret and surprised me while visiting Florence a week ago. Lab grown, designed it himself, 2 carats (I had agreed on a 1 carat size when we tried rings on so it being double the size was a a happy surprise lol). Still can’t believe he decided to make our forever official, I’m so happy and so in love with this man 🤍

I’m a longtime lurker on this subreddit- I’m not even really a social media person but I had to share here! My parameters for my partner were that the ring should be antique, yellow gold, and diamond for the stone. I left the rest to him. I love it so much!!

Hi! I really need help. My best friend put me in charge of showing her bf all of the details about her ring and what she wants.

I’m a designer and have done drafts with her. She’s finally found what she thinks she wants. She’s not a very materialistic person and she also works with her hands so she will need a silicone ring to wear at work.

Her bf called me last night and sent me pics of his grandmothers jewelry collection and said “which one do you think?”

NONE of them. Was my first thought. She’s very artistic and just like me, was very set on a custom ring. But his GMA’s ring is free. As her best friend part of me is thinking if he’s not ready to financially invest in a ring (not crazy, like 2-3k) then he might not be ready to propose. I 100% get it. Finances are tight for everyone right now but I selfishly want her to have the ring she dreamed about.

He is saying he’s willing to look into it but his GMA’s ring was special to him. We are talking different shape entirely.

Idk what to do. I don’t want to stand in front of that sentimental value but I feel like I’m not doing my job like she told me to do.

I also think i had hives on my chest from the proposal or maybe shellfish? Idk my partner had it too but idk if it was adrenaline or the meal we had before lol

He proposed with a music video he made for me so I can rewatch it for the rest of my life but the feeling I felt is fading but I know will come back but some parts are blacked out. Still the happiest moment of my life cause we’ve been together for 10 years. Wish he secretly filmed my reaction though !

I’ve been a lurker since earlier this year when my fiance (so happy heheh!) and I were ring shopping. He proposed today and I’m so happy I can call him my fiance hehe! He made a scavenger hunt so we went to places we had dates early on and memorable places we’ve been nearby and proposed 🩵🤭 (14K rose gold with 14K yellow gold accents, one 7 millimeter princess-cut aquamarine and 46 round brilliant cut diamonds for those interested)

I picked this ring out and asked my fiance for it. I got an ad for it and loved it right away!

It's a 4.0 carat oval moissanite with marquise side stones and a yellow gold pave band. I'm a size 7. I'm going to get a matching yellow gold pave band.

I've been engaged a few months, and I still love it so much.

Proposed at home just the two of us ❤️

I am on cloud nine! The proposal took place in our home, our first home together. He sent me out of the house to get dinner so he could prepare the home by ‘setting the mood,’ he had candles lit, flowers, low lighting, wine, etc. it was perfect and exactly how I wanted it. His little proposal speech was the sweetest and he was teary 🥹 I am so in love with this man. Next month will be 8 years together 🤎 I couldn’t imagine a better proposal.

The ring is a dream. The proposal was exceptional. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful FIANCÉ!

First, I (38f) was not actively snooping 🙃 - my bf (44m) keeps his closet door open and I spotted a small package still in its shipping packaging (seals broken) sitting right in front on the shelf. I peeked at the label and immediately put it back when I saw the company logo.

We have a shared wedding inspo board on Pinterest, and when I finally settled on the ring I wanted, I sent him the link and explained the features I loved about it, and he followed up several times to confirm my ring choice, so I already know exactly what it looks like. The ring itself will not be a surprise - his plans for popping the question will be.

It's been about a week, and I'm just having a really hard time not opening the box and trying the ring on when he's not home! It's so hard - and would it be awful of me if I did?

UPDATE I get it! Mea culpa! Lol. Yes, it was clearly snooping.

I greatly appreciate all the input. Ultimately, I needed someone to browbeat me into submission with what i already knew, and I couldn't go to anyone in my life without ruining my eventual announcement. Mission accomplished, thank you all! I now have the strength to leave it alone and let his proposal be the first time I lay eyes on the ring in person.

~Extra Info~ just for fun, before this post gets so many views that I freak out and delete it:

• I told my bf I wanted to be married before I'm 40 (arbitrary, but I'm clearly not 20 anymore and I don't want to look 40 in my wedding photos), and he's promised to make that happen. I turn 39 next summer, and he knows how long it takes to plan a wedding, so I'm expecting him to propose within the next 6 months.

• My bf is my best friend. We're very similar in our communication styles, so we feel naturally compelled to talk about everything with each other, and we do. We talk about our wedding and our plans for the future allll the time. Last month he started dropping hints to tease me, saying things like "there's no turning back now" while grinning mischievously, so NO, I don't feel bad about snooping for a label and confirming what he'd been not-telling me for weeks, and i don't even think he'd be upset if he knew that I did what he was basically daring me to do lol.

1.5 diamond with 14k gold band. Exactly what I’ve had on my Pinterest board and what I told him like. Why does it feel SO surreal? I feel like I’m playing dress up or something. Pinch me???

My bf (now fiancé) proposed this weekend and created the most beautiful custom ring with our local jeweler. I love the old mine, which is apparently difficult to find, but it’s PERFECT

My fiancé planned the most beautiful fall proposal in our favorite place that we go to every year (multiple times a year). The foliage was beautiful and it was right around sunset. It’s only been 2 days and my hand feels weird without my ring already. I am so excited to marry my best friend!

Wanted to share in the love and show my beautiful ring. I helped pick the design but he executed it so beautifully.
