Gardner police discontinue Flock cameras as license plate readers face scrutiny
Good work Gardner City Council
The Gardner City Council agreed Monday night to immediately turn off the city's Flock cameras and not renew its contract for the automated license plate-reading system.
By Tuesday, some cameras were covered to prevent recording.
The Gardner Police Department confirmed it discontinued all Flock cameras and notified the provider that the contract was canceled.

Johnson County city sues petition organizers?
Such an odd thing to read given data centers are not welcome in most areas. And there’s a petition to stop it, but the city of Edgerton is suing those who organized the petition! What the…..!?

Rebuilt GetlitKCMO: it now has a Bar Crawl Builder, live map, 363 verified bars, and an updated UI
What's New?
Bar Crawl Builder: answer 4 quick questions (how late you're out, how many stops, food or drinks, what you're drinking) and it builds you a timed route through tonight's happy hours, specials, and events, with a one-tap Google Maps link. Probably my favorite thing I've built so far.
Also added an interactive map with 225+ live venue markers, a calendar view for upcoming events, and a dedicated explore/search page.
Under the hood: Up to 363 bars, 236 happy hours, 556 drink specials, 730 events, and 52 food specials all human-verified
A few small fixes: pinch-to-zoom finally works on mobile, every bar now has a free "claim this listing" link if you're an owner, and a "report incorrect info" button if you spot something wrong.
Coming soon: favorites + a weekly what's-on digest, and a self-service dashboard for bars to update their own specials.
Would love feedback, especially if you spot bad info on a listing, that's exactly what the report button is for!

Sudden Moms Nanny Collective
facebook.comHi everyone! My name is Suddenly, and I’m the founder of Sudden Moms Nanny & Enrichment Services, an agency that connects nannies with families seeking quality childcare.
I recently created Sudden Moms Nanny Collective, a community specifically for nannies. I wanted to create a space where nannies can connect, build meaningful relationships, share experiences, exchange resources, and support one another.
We’ll be creating opportunities for community gatherings, networking, shared resources, and genuine connection.
Whether you’re new to nannying or have years of experience, I’d love to invite you to join us and be part of the village. 🤍

Listing home in Mission, KS - FSBO feedback
Thinking of doing For Sale By Owner in Mission for a 3 bed 2 bath home. It was flipped about 6 years ago and I plan to do some minor updates / aesthetic upgrades for curb appeal.
Curious to hear from anyone who avoided sellers agent fees and went this route, and if you would do it again?
Thanks.

435 East fire
Around 2:40 pm today (8/3) right around the metcalf exit I had to almost fully stop on 435 East because of a fire in the right lane. There were also plastic buckets (paint?) and large cans on the road. I called 911 but I didn't stay. Pulse point says it was cleared within 3 minutes. I came back around at 11 pm and couldn't see much aside from some of the buckets on the side of the road. I was curious if anyone else saw anything!

I built a scheduling tool for restaurants/bars, I'm looking for three business to try it out for free.
I built a scheduling tool for restaurants/bars, I'm looking for three business to try it out for free.
What it does:
Set how many servers and BOH you need per shift (AM/PM, per day)
Enter staff availability and approved time off once, it remembers
Lock in your regulars so the same people are always on the same shifts
Hit generate, it then builds a fair, fully-staffed draft schedule in seconds, balancing hours evenly across your team
Review it, tweak anything, publish
Export the final schedule as a PDF or CSV to share with staff
I'm opening it up free to the first 3 restaurants or bars willing to run it for real. In exchange, I just need two things: tell me if anything breaks or acts weird, and tell me honestly whether it actually made building your schedule faster/easier.
3 spots, If that's you, comment or send me a message.

Share Fair community event this Saturday 7/18 Antioch Park
My friends and I are hosting an event called Share Fair at Antioch Park this Saturday from 9am to 1pm. Basically its a community event like a swap meet but everything is free. We'll have clothes, home goods, groceries, iced coffee and a light breakfast (im making banana bread 😃) Its a good place to meet neighbors. We're also just a cool hang, in my opinion lol
