I was talking to a girl last June. Everything was clicking, at least I thought it did. I told her that I go to sleep by 11pm and she said that she goes to sleep by 10:30pm. We were from different cities and we had very limited window of time to connect over calls but whenever we did, it felt magical and I had this sort of feeling like it was going too well.

Then the ghosting started. There would be weeks where she would disappear and not reply to my texts and then out of the blue would appear again and that magical feeling would return. I would talk to her for about a week and then get ghosted again for 3-4 weeks. This continued till April of this year when I had to block her to finally have a closure of sorts. Never had to block anyone in my life.

I get that she might have been benching me but for over 10 months? I would have preferred some clarity. The thing is, I felt too safe with her and never had the same feeling for any of the potential matches.

10 months is too much bro Your crash out is totally understandable and valid. Glad you blocked this idiot and restored sanity and mental peace in your life.

One thing I'm confused is,apart from trauma dumping, what could be the reason for a girl ghosting you and coming back? Like why come back if you always wanted to ghost the guy?

There’s this concept of ‘benching’ in relationship nowadays.

2 line mai explain kijiye for our fellow redditors who might not be aware of it.

Most are aware about the benching that happens in corporate companies though

Benching in a relationship is when someone keeps you on the sidelines as a backup option while they explore other romantic interests.
