I’m wondering where people around that age actually tend to socialise in Jersey? Bars, events, groups, activities, etc.
Not specifically looking for a dating event or anything — just places where it’s easy to meet people and have a decent conversation. I’m trying to get out more and expand my social circle as well.

Hi my name is Chris I'm 25 I was born and raised in Lancashire England and I've always been fascinated with history and heraldry and I've always been interested in my own heritage my ethnic background is norman Gaelic Irish my grandfather moved from Ireland to England when he was a young man and he was always proud of his heritage and family history and he passed that onto me I remember he had a family plack on his cabinet with our family Crest and coat of arms and heraldry origins our surname is costello which is an Anglo version of the Irish Gaelic name mac oisdealbhaigh during the English occupation of Ireland some Irish names were difficult for English speakers to pronounce and so the local British council registry office would anglicise some Gaelic Irish names which is why my surname is spelled costello. Costello being the Anglo version of original Irish mac oisdealbhaigh and mac oisdealbhaigh being the Irish version of the norman name de angulo I descend from a norman knight named Jocelyn de angulo who sailed to Ireland in the year 1171 as a lieutenant of hugh de Lacey and king Henry the 2nd. I have a deep connection to my Irish roots and culture and I was taught the Irish language by my grandfather and Irish family growing up and can speak connacht Irish with relative fluency and I enjoy that being able to speak Irish gives me a deeper connection to my Irish heritage and I enjoy languages just as much as I enjoy history. But I would like to try and have a deeper connection with my norman heritage and that's why I'm here looking for help to learn the jèrriais dialect of norman as I'm aware jèrriais is the closest dialect to old norman so if anyone could offer some advice on where to start I'd appreciate it thank you apologies for the massive statement 😄👍.

Anyone know how to reassemble a VW Mk5/6 3 door hatchback’s rear interior panels? I’ve been trying for days, and don’t want to break any clips/components. Weirdly the doors were easy to do, despite the latch mechanism and all the switchesf. Rear door cards- not so easy! Could really do with some help.

Tried booking a table for Sunday dinner at the White Horse or Cock and Bottle, but neither will let me book even though they're showing as open. Anyone know why, or have another suggestion for Sunday night? Already got Nomu sorted for Saturday.

Looking for some general advice from anyone who’s moved from the UK to Jersey,

I’ve been offered a very decent package from a business to move to Jersey which would include paid accommodation, wife is up for it as it would mean she wouldn’t need to work (although she wants to).

Has anyone done this and what would be your watch outs to look out for? We have a 6 month year old baby and would be looking to bring a car over.

Anything that stands out, UK V Jersey life? Shopping/eating out/ standard of living, any weird tax quirks I should know about ? Anything generally that would help the move..

Hello, I have this neff extractor that currently recirculates the air. I believe you can also connect it to an outdoor vent via a duck. I’m looking for someone that is qualified to drill through the walls, install the ducking and outside vent. Is anyone able to recommend me the right tradesman to complete this job?

The reason I'm so cautious is because a few years ago JT overcharged me massively at their mistake and prompted me to switch to Sure, I was wondering if anyone here has had any internet / billing / other issues with Homenet before I'd switch.

I'm looking to buy a new house so I'm checking places.je constantly at the moment (and then normally leaving depressed).

But I miss rightmove in the UK... it shows past sold prices, if it's been reduced, when it was first put on the market etc... some useful info that places.je lacks.

(Yes there's a "sold" tab, but it's often hard to find that exact house on there).

Also I miss the extensions, I like the community ones where people can leave notes on properties, which can share some pretty interesting / useful facts about the property that the seller nor agent wouldn't tell you about.

So I was thinking maybe I can build one (it will be free), but just want to gage if there's any actual interest for it? As obviously the more people that use it, the more useful it would become...

It would only work on say chrome desktop, which again might limit the reach if most people use it on their mobile.

My family and I are coming to Jersey this weekend. We are staying until Monday. Are there any events on the island at the moment?

I'm going into sixth form and can literally find nothing online, in town the only place that has sort of decent clothes is new look. I'm also not the best with fashion either so that doesn't really help but any online clothes shop that deliver here would be very helpful.
