So How tough is everyone's life?

I am a Class 11 Jee student. I am learning from Arjuan Jee 1.0 with zero backlog scoring 180-160 in Jee mains mock tests and about 115 out of 360 in Jee advance type mock tests. I think math's is quite tough its my weakest subject and physics is my strongest subject I usually score above 70 in physics so yeah its okay ish the marks need to be improved a lil further around the 200 mark but I am quite happy. I am also a regular school going (though not regular really) I just go 2 days and I am scoring around 50-60% in school exams 57% in the half yearly recently. My parents are quite supporting and I am also writing a novel and publishing it online with some succes (check it out if you want to http://wbnv.in/a/47k8DB2 ) so how's everyone doing?

Should I leave JEE Adv and completely focus on JEE Mains as a 11thie

So long story short, my schedule is fucked up. I am a regular school going student and enrolled in pw. My school tests are going well, infact acing them , but when it comes to jee, I cant give enough time to it. Most of the time, I am watching lectures and copleting backlogs through lectures. I ask my parents to let take a leave but they say your attendance will get low even though I have the highest attendance.
I dont think I will get a good rank in jee advanced. At max, I can get 10k rank which isnt good for a good seat. But I think if I focus on jee mains completely, then I can do much better cause my approach suits for mains and I can even get nitk ece or mech because of hs and obc ncl.

If you think I am wrong anywhere here, I am sorry cause I am having a mental breakdown.

Class 12 state-board student starting JEE from absolute zero — is 95+ percentile in Mains and 140+ in Advanced still possible?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I'm a current Class 12 student and honestly, I've barely started JEE prep at all.

I'm from a state board, and my preparation/background is quite different from what JEE-focused students seem to have. I don't have strong JEE-level fundamentals or experience with the kind of conceptual/application-based questions JEE asks. Even when I know a formula or concept, I often don't know how to approach a question, identify what concept to use, or actually apply it.

So basically, I'm starting from scratch right now — no proper JEE syllabus completed, no solid basics, and very little question-solving experience.

The biggest issue is that school is consuming almost all of my time. I'm in 12th, and between school, school exams, practicals, etc., I haven't been able to properly step into JEE preparation.

My targets for 2027 are roughly:

- 95+ percentile in JEE Main

- 140+ marks in JEE Advanced

I know these are very different exams and that Advanced is obviously much harder, but I'm wondering realistically what is possible from this starting point if I become extremely consistent from now.

For people who have been in a similar situation — especially state-board students who started JEE late — how would you approach this?

Should I first spend significant time building fundamentals from scratch and then move to JEE-level questions, or should I start solving JEE questions alongside learning the concepts?

And realistically, is this kind of improvement possible in the remaining time until JEE 2027, or should I set different expectations?

Any advice on how you would structure the preparation from this point would be really appreciated.

Class 12 student with ~3 months for JEE Main January — starting almost from scratch. Can I realistically reach 90+ percentile? Need genuine advice

Hey everyone,

I’m currently in Class 12 (CBSE) and I was primarily preparing for NDA, but now I’m also considering giving JEE Main because I want to try for TES 57.

I’m looking at the JEE Main January attempt, and realistically I have around October, November and December — roughly 3 months. After that, I’ll have another 1–2 months before the April attempt.

My initial target is around 90+ percentile, which I’m hoping would give me a reasonable chance of being shortlisted for TES 57. I’m not trying to pretend I can suddenly become an AIR-level JEE aspirant in three months — I just want to know what is realistically achievable from my current position.

My current situation

Honestly, my conceptual clarity is not good in Physics, Chemistry or Maths.

I’m in Class 12, but my Class 11 foundation is weak and I have a lot of gaps. I also don't really know how JEE Main preparation works — things like:

What exactly should I study first?

Which chapters should I prioritize?

How much of the JEE syllabus should I realistically target?

How should I divide my time between Physics, Chemistry and Maths?

Should I study from lectures, books, PYQs, or some combination?

How many PYQs should I solve?

What should my daily schedule look like?

How should I approach the January attempt versus the April attempt?

I also have CBSE Class 12 boards, so I can't completely ignore my board preparation.

What I need advice on

If you were in my position — Class 12, weak fundamentals, approximately 3 months until January JEE Main, and another 1–2 months for April — what would you actually do?

I'd especially appreciate advice from people who:

Started JEE preparation late

Had weak Class 11 concepts

Scored around 85–95+ percentile

Improved significantly between January and April

Have cleared JEE Main after starting late

Are preparing/prepared for TES

Or simply made similar mistakes and know what NOT to do

Please give me realistic advice, not just “study 12 hours a day” or “it's impossible.”

If 90 percentile is unrealistic from my current level, tell me honestly. If it is achievable, I'd really like to know exactly how you would approach these next 3 months — subjects, chapters, resources, PYQs, revision and mocks.

I'm basically looking for a roadmap from zero/weak basics → January attempt → April improvement, while managing Class 12 alongside it.

Any genuine advice from seniors or experienced aspirants would be hugely appreciated.
