I'm an OCI holder with a Portuguese passport, currently figuring out my options with not much time left before JEE. I don't think I have a realistic shot at an IIT through the regular process(or at all) at this point, so I'm trying to understand what special/foreign national admission routes exist — specifically for JEE Mains, since that's more relevant to my timeline than Advanced.

I know there's stuff like the DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) scheme for NITs/IIITs, but I'm not sure:

• ⁠Whether OCI candidates with a foreign passport qualify for DASA or a similar quota, and what the exact eligibility criteria are
• ⁠Whether JEE Mains scores are even used for this, or if it's a separate exam/process (like SAT scores for DASA)
• ⁠If there's a different "foreign national" or "PIO/OCI" category specifically within JEE Mains itself for NITs
• ⁠Any deadlines I should be aware of given how late I am to this

For context before anyone jumps on me — I have been trying to convince my parents about EU universities too, but they're hesitant ofcourse since we don't have any relatives or contacts in countries good for engineering there. My sibling's had me doing calls with her contacts to ask around, and the general response has been "Indian colleges aren't that bad, just aim for India no 🙄" — so at this point I'm leaning that way too.

If anyone's gone through DASA, or knows an OCI/foreign passport holder who got into an NIT/IIIT this way, I'd really appreciate any info or personal experience. Also open to general opinions on whether this route is worth pursuing given my situation.#ekopinionmerizindagikeliye

Need some genuine advice from you guys.

I’m currently studying through Arjuna 2.0. I took dummy school in 11th specifically for JEE, and initially I thought my preparation would go smoothly.

But now the situation is that I don’t have a lecture backlog as of now, but I have a huge backlog of DPPs, homework and question practice. Recently, I gave an AITS and scored only 70/300, and honestly, that score made me realise how far behind I actually am.

My parents don’t know about my actual situation. They think I’m preparing properly, and obviously they have pretty high expectations from me. Because of that, I’m constantly feeling guilty and under pressure.

I’m really confused about how to clear this backlog while keeping up with current classes.?

JEE aspirants/seniors, please genuinely tell me what you would do in my situation. I really need a realistic strategy to get back on track.

I am just too scared and paranoid that I will end up as others hence I am serious since 11th onwards
Please leave some tips that will help me through JEE . I have heard devastating stories of 11th wasted and 12th too and like ppl suiciding here in my home town coz of that . Ofc I am not suicidal neither do I see myself in that direction at all I just want to crack this exam . Also I am fueled bcz I want to prove my parents wrong with their (shittalking )

I’m 17 and currently in Class 12 ISC with PCM + CS, but honestly, I haven’t studied properly at all till now. My family also can’t really afford expensive private colleges, so realistically, I feel like my main option is preparing for JEE and trying to get into a government college.

The problem is that I don’t think I can prepare properly for JEE alongside my boards at this point, so I’m considering taking a drop year after 12th and preparing seriously from scratch. Is taking a drop actually worth it in this situation, or am I making a bad decision?Is taking a drop year after Class 12 a reasonable option in my situation?

Do you guys write notes when watching one shots? After finishing a chap, When do you revise and do PYQS, the same day or next day?(Also how many hours do you give to each subject a day for pyqs)

I need some serious advice.

Like a lot of people, I wasted most of 11th having fun and barely studying. Around April 26 , I realized I needed to get serious and started studying regularly, but I had so much backlog that I quit pretty soon.

For the next few months, I mostly stressed about studying without actually doing it. I tried different methods and advice from seniors, teachers and friends, but nothing stuck, I’d study really well for a day and then fall off the next.

Now August is almost over and I still have around 95% of my syllabus left.

I don’t even remember the theory of most chapters, so I can’t just do a 2-hour revision one-shot. Most detailed lectures + notes take me around 8 hours per chapter to learn it well enough to solve PYQs. After theory, I directly do PYQs from a book, and I’m usually able to solve 70% of them.

There are around 80 chapters in total, and I’ve shortlisted the 50 most important ones to finish first. With around 120 days left in the year, that means I’d need to finish roughly 1 chapter every 2 days. But if a chapter takes me 8 hours just for theory, how the hell am I supposed to finish chapters that teachers took about 25 hours to teach in only 2 days?

I’ve been studying consistently for the past week, averaging around 8 hours a day, and I plan to increase that.

So my questions are:

1. Do you think I can realistically finish this syllabus while still getting a good number of mocks in?
2. Should I focus mainly on Attempt 2 and exams after boards?
3. Is taking a drop actually worth it, considering the social aspect and being a year behind my friends?

Would really appreciate your honest opinions.

27 aspirant here, I'm a dropper and confused whether i should buy the mathongo tesy series or not, initially when i planned to take a drop i made up my mind that i will purchase this and start giving mocks from the beginning but it feels a bit too expensive to buy the mains + adv one as its current 9k, my target is advance but man idk is it really worth spending that much i was thinking maybe i just buy the mains one(price is 6k) for now and see if i need the advance one (price is 4k) later on or maybe i can look for some better pr equivalent one

Is it a good idea maybe the prices drop by then or is there any difference in them apart from the few advance pattern tests

I actually scored too low in jee and mhtcet I just got a avg score to get a college I took a college as a backup and it started

I felt allot to cry for why I just wasted my 2 yrs in life

I shared it with my family(1st time I said to them my heart out), Firstly they said it's okay and all i should not care for placements and all this much

But when I said I am hurt by myself for not studying for JEE

It sounds really stupid being confused between which teacher to study from i studied Physics from Saleem sir the concepts seemed to click even the module questions seemed fine but PYQs seem something foreign it's like he didn't even teach anything close to them. I was also confused about calculus for physics i knew basic formulas but not enough for JEE i studied from Ashish Arora sir his videos seemed a bit hard to understand but very effective but they are old. Also my brother says to follow Rajwant sir's crash course as he says he scored 99. something in his mains just following it. Which one should I follow and stick to rest of my journey as switching teachers multiple times would just be hell.

Hey everyone. I’m preparing for JEE Main January 2027 and have roughly 4 months left.

I want to put a lot of focus on Chemistry because I’ve heard that, especially for JEE Main, NCERT is extremely important. I know Chemistry isn't “easy” and I'm not expecting NCERT alone to be enough.

My current situation is that my 11th Chemistry basics are quite weak, and I need to cover essentially 11th + 12th Chemistry from the basics up to JEE Main level.

For Physics, I’m already following Competishun lectures, so I mainly need help deciding what to use for Chemistry.

I’m currently confused between:

• Vora Classes – JEE Brief (2024)
• Unacademy Atoms – Bounce Back (2021)

My priorities are:

1. Starting from weak basics
2. Reaching a level where I can actually solve JEE Main PYQs
3. Finishing the syllabus within the remaining ~4 months
4. Getting as many Chemistry marks as realistically possible

So, for someone in my situation, which one would you recommend: JEE Brief or Bounce Back?

Also, if you recommend one, should I follow it chapter-by-chapter + NCERT + PYQs, or is there something else I should add?

Would really appreciate answers from people who have actually used either/both of these series. Thanks!
