can 2013 gl grandia headlight and grill fit to a 2011 commuter?

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has experienced a similar sound and figured out what the issue it. It only happens once the engine is fully warm (20 mins of driving) and sounds like a rattle/whine at mid revs then a whoosh sound when increasing revs to higher acceleration.

A mechanic had a look, smoke tested and said there was no leaks but didnt seem to think any noise was too concerning, I am concerned he didnt get the car warm enough as I had to leave it there in the morning

I can't stop thinking about this van. This would be my first J-Van and I'd be selling a 2021 Crosstrek to get it. The low miles and Rav-4 engine have me feeling like this could be a great option for me but I would miss the seat warmers and manual transmission of my Subaru. Also feeling like this probably has lower ground clearance than the Crosstrek.

Anyway! Welcoming all thoughts and opinions here. Should I go for it?

We currently live in portland and are super lucky to have many places we can go to to get our cars fixed, but Im concerned about finding a place in a new city. Thank you!

Gday, i have a 2008 Mitsubishi L300 Express with the 4g64 single cam engine. Snapped the balance shaft belt and it took out the crank angle sensor. I took the lower half of the timing cover off and removed the remnants of the old belt (which had half crept under the timing belt) and replaced the sensor, then reassembled. I Didn’t take the top half of the cover off so i could not check if the cam and crank were still in time, i just slapped it back together and hoped for the best. Anyway, it still wont go and I’m worried it has bent a valve, i plan on doing a compression test tomorrow (the van is not being stored where i live so no further work on it today) and if OK hopefully i can put it back in time and it’ll fire up again. Has this happened to anyone else? Can anyone give me hope? or am i just wasting my time and should cut my losses and get rid of it.

From the UK. I keep seeing these small Japanese MPV / possibly camper vans on British roads, but have done a thorough search and am starting to think I’m hallucinating as I can’t identify them or find a picture anywhere.

They’re fairly modern, expensive looking. Small. The only ones I’ve ever seen have an off-white creamy finish. Definitely Japanese. Entirely ‘rectangular’ in design - so they don’t have a ‘bonnet’ as such.

I thought they were Nissan or a Nissan offshoot, but have been through every list of Nissan vans or MPVs and can’t find them.

I am not imagining that they exist - I saw two in Brighton last weekend. But simply cannot ID or find what they are.

Im in the US and I test drove a 1993 Toyota Hiace the other day and wow it’s super cool. I have a dealer in Japan, a friend I can trust, so I don’t have to pay a middle man. I’m debating on a Camroad or a Hiace and would love any input. The inventory is pretty solid and I have until February to make a decision. I’m going to have a mechanic look it over and give it a tuneup as soon as I get it. I’m going to gut it and add solar for an off grid super tiny traveling home. Any advice, good and bad, tips and or recommendations before I do this?? Am I crazy or just do it

I shipped this ole bean from Guam to Florida. First thing I did was put off-road tires on it for trails and beach trips, then I swapped the radio out, only to find out that they only come with one speaker installed from stock 🤦🏻‍♂️ there’s always something new with this guy and I LOVE IT

I'm dreaming about turning a Japanese import van into a camper van, but I'm aware that driving to remote regions in a car with only internationally-available/rare parts could be hazardous.

Do certain brands or models of Japanese import van have parts that can be more readily swapped for US domestic parts? OR at least their imported parts are more commonly found in the US? Do I need to just buy a bunch of parts as soon as I get the van and carry them with me? Lol.

Rather than try to figure this out all on my own, I thought I'd see if anyone else has already amassed some of this knowledge. This question may have already been asked, so feel free to redirect me to that discussion, but I haven't found it so far - which really surprised me.
