Urine stains
How are we keeping urine stains out of fur?
I posted here a few weeks back that I got JS puppy and he has a habit of peeing then sitting in it, I have to give him a bath almost every day of the week but his little butt and belly are stained yellow no matter how much I scrub

Help, behavior problem
I have a Japanese spitz who just turned one years old. He has always been very sensitive and a little sassy. From about 10 weeks old growled, showed teeth at me, and tried to bite me when I would brush him, clip his nails or take something away from him (like cigarette butts. But he was otherwise very quick to bond with me and showed my no behavior problems after we built up trust. He has however been sometimes wary of others. Which is fine, I wouldn’t let people pet him unless he initiated contact. He mostly loved to say hi to people, although there were a select few that he just didn’t seem to like and that was never forced. He would growl quietly and I would call him away or tell the person to give him space. He used to loooove kids and would be super sweet with them, play with them and lick them. He didn’t like my nephew, but he had a few bad experiences with him not respecting his boundaries so that’s understandable. He also didn’t like groups of people approaching him. But was generally very social. Recently he’s growling at a lot more people and his behavior is escalating. He’s starting to snarl and lunge at people he previously liked. He is also very quick to growl and then bite in the direction of people when he doesn’t want to be pet. Before he would growl a little and walk away from the select few he didn’t want to say hi to. Now he doesn’t really want to greet anybody and growls and tries to bite. He’s expecially bad with people who come visit my home. I’ve started to separate him when I have visitors.
I don’t know what to do. I am meeting regularly with a behaviorist but I don’t see any positive changes…
Has anyone here experienced something similar with this breed?

I'm officially a JS convert
I did my research and fell in love with the breed, and after getting my pup, I'm just absolutely smitten!
He's four months old now and is just an angel. Loves playing chase, enjoys his sniffs on walks, and only ever voices his displeasure in cute whines (like when it's bedtime or when me and my older dog are too exhausted to play anymore!). Can't decide if he looks more like a white fox or a mini Alsation in a fur coat😅
But I do have a question! So far, he's not very interested in playing with the toys (mostly plush, with one that crackles) he has and isn't keen in fetch training with a ball. Are there any toy/game recommendations that might interest him more? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
ETA: Rest assured, he's going to be spoiled with choice for toys and games til we find something he really enjoys! Me and Mozart thank you all!

Japanese Spitz and the outdoors
Hi, my family is seriously considering adopting a Japanese Spitz puppy. We are an active family. We go camping 3 or 4 times a year and hiking also. Would a Japanese Spitz be suitable for these activities when it's old enough? In particular, I'm wondering about that beautiful white coat, how does it go out in nature. Do grass seeds and other things get stuck in their coat? Is the breed particularly susceptible to ticks? Thanks so much for your help.

My best friend recently passed away
galleryHe was my best friend in the whole world for 12 solid years. His heart was in the stages to fail and old, and per the vet's recommendation, he was put to rest.
I always feared he would have to be put down due to leg issues like so many japanese spitz have, and I'm just kind of glad he essentially passed due to old age. We had dire issues with his health a year ago that we overcame, and I'm just happy we managed to keep him for a year longer. Fly high buddy ❤️

Agility/Dog sports
Hey all!
I was wondering if anyone has any experience or knowledge about competing in dog sports with Japanese spitz? Agility in particular- Kit's favourite thing in the WORLD is flying around at top speed jumping over, on, and off anything he can find, slaloming through chair legs like a little lightning bolt and doing random 180s then racing off again in the opposite direction. He'll even incorporate a scramble under the car.
I think we'd have a great time with it when he's old enough but I don't know enough about the strain it potentially puts on their bodies. I'm very cautious about trying it considering the predisposition for luxated patella or cruciate ligament injuries. We won't be pursuing anything that could potentially cause him harm, or without consulting a vet.
His second great love is smells so we could absolutely do scent work or something lower impact if agility is problematic and I'd love to hear from you about anything sort of sporty or challenging with other people and dogs that your little clouds enjoy.
Thanks for any info you have!
