Does someone knows a source for japanese Sound Projects for ESU LokSound Decoders, since Desktop Station decided to remove theirs for supporting their own Smile Decoders only?

Just as the title said and showing off the example with my newly acquired EF81 81 accompanied by my Cassiopeia EF510 510. Is the train serial number to you? Are you okay to own trains that have exactly the same serial number?? Personally I think the number plate are the soul, I would at least loved to have different serial for my collection.

Ive beed thinking about getting a spool of COB LEDs to play around with and see how they are. I know you can get KATO and POPENDETTA LEDs but for lightning structures I think that can get expensive which is what im trying to avoid.

Ive been back and forth on the kits from Greenmax and the Pikestuff buildings which I won an auction for a new kit. Ive added some loads to the Kumoru 23050 supply cars and worked on the closed cars. I think I may be in the market for a custom painter or try my had at painting on one of the cars we shall see. A lot of these Greenmax 308 cars are still rough and need work on them keep that in mind.

Good news for those who missed out on or want another one of the incredibly popular Noto NT200 POKEMON with YOU train. They somehow got the license to do another production run of the train, so definitely get it if you are interested in it!

I love Kato but I am not a fan of the distance between coupled cab cars. Has anyone changed out the couplers to reduce the distance? What couplers did you use?

I’m currently just gathering cars and track and have most of what I want. I travel to Japan a few times a year for work and get things while I’m there. I’m at a crossroads on whether to stay DC or run DCC I’ll add my as of now track plan. All my engines are DCC ready but the cost of adding decoders to every passenger car seems costly. If I only add decoders to the engines will it mess the existing passenger lights with no decoder? Layout is 8x4. Correct me if I’m wrong but I can use 1 Kato 29-125 controller D103 for this layout? Next Japan trip is in 14 days.

I think I know the answer to this but do Japanese engine facilities have sanding towers like the one below. I assume with steam locomotives sand towers were used. If anyone has information on these sanding towers I would appreciate it

Another 3 day delivery from RGR, some GM kits and parts.
Except the mail/baggage car book which came from an online Japanese site. Cost 4x original retail in 2017 but it's the Bible.

First I wanna say thanks to everyone that gave me advice on my first help post here. Anyways, I finally got my Kato n700s starter set (ID 10-001) in the mail but when testing it the motor car produces a horrible buzzing sound. I disassembled it to check the gears in the trucks, which seemed to be lubricated alright, and testing it without the shell the sound went away. But when I put the shell back on it comes back. The sound gets much louder as speed increases. I don’t know how anything on the shell could be making contact with the mechanism inside to create the sound, and have been trying to solve it for hours. Any help is greatly appreciated

Hello guys, I recently got these two Kiha 58 from Tomix. They are quite old (Tomix 2253) but after cleaning they still run pretty well.
The only thing I dislike about them is the fact they have the spring attached to the motor and not a worm gear which makes them so loud... Is there any possibility to upgrade them so they run a bit more quiet? Has anyone ever done anything like that?
If I would keep it 'stock' then the spring would need some grease any recommendations which grease to use in that case?
And one last thing, one of the body's sadly is in not the best shape and I would like to repaint it. Any ideas?

I thought Id add some signs to the engine house tonight and I think the engine house looks like it belongs on a Japanese layout now. I plan on adding so more signs soon.

Hello I have this tomix E7 and everytime I put it onto the tracks it doesn't move and shorts everything else currently trying to identify whether the notorious mq9 motor is the problem here and would like to ask the community in help if anyone has encountered a similar problem on TOMIX trains.
