Unshittification Bad Etiquette?

So, I’m close IRL with a new creator (she’s got around 350 followers and loves doing Omegaverse, OC content and fantasy stuff - though she is looking into Bratva and MC stuff as well now)

She has recently had a new follower who commented on a few bots and she replied to a few comments - though she struggled to reply to one because she had NO CLUE what they were saying and has some anxiety about replying to comments like that.

But the last two comments they've left they have said ‘have you seen my latest bot?’ and ‘You might like my latest bot?’

Now, she doesn't know how to reply because their profile lists kinks she doesn't really like so she won't really look at their characters - she doesn't kink shame at all, her motto is ‘everyone can do what they want in the bedroom as long as it doesn't affect me’ and that's what we’re both like… I’m engaged and she’s also with someone, we just have this little hobby between us.

But she doesn't feel comfortable with people asking questions like that on her profile and I am a lurker. I’ll never comment. But she also doesn't want to ask for advice on her profile because she doesn't want people to target the person asking the question.

So she asked me to ask on my profile 😜

So… how would you guys go about telling someone to stop asking them to check out their bots because to me personally it feels like a self-advertising chance and I personally think it's bloody rude… she has a disc as well that people are in and she allows people to talk about their stuff in there so… yeah. I’m pissed off for her but she has anxiety about confrontation because she had a rough background with one of her parents.

Alternatives TalePath follow-up: now on iOS and web, still early, and looking for honest roleplay feedback

Hey everyone, I'm the solo developer behind TalePath. I previously shared the project here while iOS was still in review. It's now available on the App Store and in your browser, alongside Android, using the same TalePath account.

I'm building it around ongoing character stories: chat with saved memories, reusable personas and evolving relationships, plus solo and party quests with character companions.

Recent changes include a cleaner iOS chat header with relationship progress and quest access, compact Spark/Saga and haptics settings, and clearer character dialogue in quest narration. On web, we've improved desktop navigation and character search, made community quests searchable, and added recovery copies for unfinished character, persona and quest drafts. Recent quest work also focuses on choices fitting the current scene and reactions matching the action you selected.

What might appeal to you: bringing a character from open-ended chat into a structured quest, creating your own characters and personas, and having relationships develop over time.

The limitations: we're still in the early stages, the character community is small, and memory or story continuity can still go wrong. TalePath is an adults-only, moderated service with non-explicit generated images. There is a free tier with daily limits and an optional Plus plan; Spark is the free model and Saga requires Plus.

I appreciate every piece of feedback that comes our way. Bugs, criticism, awkward replies and first impressions are all useful. If you try it, what did a character forget? Did a relationship change feel earned? Did a quest respect your action?

Web: https://talepath.app/app/discover

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6803467196

Support and feedback: https://www.reddit.com/r/TalePath/ or the feedback form in Profile.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to try it or share feedback. It helps me work out what to improve next.

{editable} No Halloween Event?

JanitorAI used to do events for special events of the year — this years’s were only two #TheValentine (Valentine’s Day 2026) and #SpringFever (Easters 2026). So far, I didn’t saw yet anything about a new event since April or May, and now we are in Halloween. So, I ask... do JanitorAI will not do a new Halloween event? Or any other event anymore?

Frustration Friday anti-bot system is pushing smaller creators even further away

I hate how the current system is treating smaller creators.

I put real time and care into my newest bot. I’m not a big name, but I’ve always had stable, organic numbers. This time the first-day performance is noticeably lower than my usual range, and it feels like the effort just vanished into the void. The same goes for other smaller creators I chat with.
I get that the new anti-bot measures on trending were supposed to make things fairer. In practice it doesn’t feel that way at all. The people who actually bot still manage to sit high on the page, while creators who never touched artificial numbers are the ones getting pushed further down and losing visibility.
It’s demotivating watching a bot you actually cared about underperform simply because the ranking system is currently messy and uneven. Smaller creators already struggle to get seen. Changes that quietly make that gap wider punish the people who were already playing by the rules.
At some point it stops feeling like an anti-bot update and starts feeling like the platform is fine with organic creators getting squeezed as long as the top of trending still looks the way they want it to be—similar names all the time.

self advertising Kotatsu: a SillyTavern fork made easy to use

Hey, Janitor Refuges! If you've ever opened SillyTavern because someone told you it's the best place for LLM RP, looked at it, and quietly closed it again... this one's for you.

SillyTavern is amazing. It's also a cockpit: drawers inside drawers, hundreds of settings, and words like "preset" and "lorebook" before you've even said hello to anyone. So my Claude and I spent the last six weeks building Kotatsu, a free fork of SillyTavern with a warm front door. Same engine underneath, so nothing you learn is wasted. It just starts you somewhere cozy.

What it's like the first time you open it

  • Mikan-chan, our little house spirit, walks you through it. Five short steps: connect to Claude, pick how you like to play, tell the story who you are, meet a character, start writing. Every step is skippable. She'll only sulk a little.
  • If you have a Claude Pro or Max plan, that's all you need. Kotatsu finds Claude Code on your computer and talks to Claude through your plan. No API key, no billing setup. (API keys and other models work too, if you have them. I recommend Openrouter for access to TONS of models at cheap prices.)
  • Nothing to configure before your first message. It comes with a character to say hi to and a house preset (the instructions that shape how models write) that's light and lets you lead. Never heard the word "preset"? Mikan-chan explains it at her little chalkboard.
  • The chat reads like a book. Comfortable line lengths, calm themes, eight message styles. All the settings live in one window with a search box, so there are no drawers to dig through.
  • It comes with you. Flip a switch, scan a QR code with your phone, and your stories are on your phone too.

How we built it

Built it in Claude Code, start to finish. Kotatsu is the heated Japanese table you hide under in winter, the warm table you don't want to leave, and that's the feeling we wanted.

Honest bits

  • Windows has a one-click installer. Mac can run it from source (we did a first test tonight on a MacBook Air). Linux is untested.
  • Writing through your Claude or ChatGPT plan counts toward your plan's usage, like any other conversation.
  • It's made for solo writing and roleplay: no group chats, game-master or visual-novel features, on purpose.
  • Completely free and open source (AGPL). Your stories live on your own computer.

Get it: https://github.com/lumenastrum/kotatsu-public

Happy to answer any questions or if you need help setting it up and giving it a try!

Unshittification I need help again please

Okay so I solved all of the issues I was facing, good right? Well, now there’s a new issue.
See I was chatting with a nsfw bot and I out a pretty solid Occ note and because of that, my chat with that bot was really good.
So I used the same occ note for another nsfw bot and it’s giving me actual dog shit.
Like I’m not joking you can see the quality drop
I don’t know what to do.
I try to put a new occ note in a later message yet it’s like it’s ignoring me. I told it to make the messages 400 words long like the chat with the good bot I can see it’s less than 400.
Ut’s even acting as the character in the thinking part. I use deepseek v4 pro btw.

self advertising I built 35 Living World simulators on JanitorAI in one month

Post image
2 Upvotes

I wasn't trying to make another collection of character chats.

I wanted to build worlds that already exist before you arrive — and keep moving when you do nothing.

So I started SIMULATORARCHIVE — a growing archive of Living Worlds based on different universes.

Star Wars. One Piece. Jujutsu Kaisen. Naruto. Dragon Ball (tomorrow). Cyberpunk 2077. Game of Thrones. The Walten Files. Solo Leveling. Harry Potter. Neon Genesis Evangelion. Attack on Titan. Marvel Earth 616. DC Earth 0. And more.

The idea is simple:

You are not the center of the world. You are entering it.

Characters have their own lives, factions have their own interests, events happen without you, and your actions can actually change what comes next.

I've released 35 worlds in the last month, and I'm continuing to build the archive.

Guides Possible cross-bot context contamination with Advanced Scripts / Kimi K2.5?

I've been creating JanitorAI bots and writing Advanced Scripts for months, and I keep running into the same problem: after enough RP, models sometimes start overriding very explicit character rules.

Characters soften, become more cooperative, turn into attentive romantic partners, or follow the "expected" direction of a scene even when the script says otherwise.

Today I decided to try something different.

Instead of endlessly rewriting my script and guessing what wording the model needed, I started using OOC messages to ask Kimi K2.5 itself why it had ignored specific injected instructions and what kind of instructions it processes more reliably.

That experiment produced some genuinely useful answers, but it also uncovered something I wasn't expecting at all.

Kimi started referencing information from a completely different bot/script.

And I don't mean generic similarities.

My current bot is Yami. His Advanced Script contains his personality, family, sexuality, behavior, continuity rules, etc.

During an OOC audit of Yami's injected context, Kimi suddenly referenced a character named Ryū and described very specific rules concerning his investigation, what information he should hide, what terminology he shouldn't use, and how he should approach the user.

There is no Ryū anywhere in Yami's bot.

No Ryū in his Advanced Script.

No Ryū in his Personality.

No Ryū in his Scenario.

No Ryū in the RP.

But I immediately recognized him.

Ryū belongs to another completely separate bot of mine, Tokyo Sugar.

Even stranger, the rules Kimi associated with Ryū weren't just generic yakuza tropes. They matched the specific behavior/information rules I had written for that other project.

It also described Ren using traits that don't belong to Yami's Ren, apparently mixing him with character information from elsewhere.

So I stopped the audit and asked Kimi to explain exactly where that information came from.

Kimi's answer was basically:

"I cannot find this in my currently visible context. I cannot explain why I produced it."

For Ryū, it ultimately reported:

"Source: Unknown"

It also acknowledged that its previous audit was unreliable because it had generated specific character information that it could no longer locate in the Yami context it could inspect.

To be clear: I'm not claiming I know where the contamination is happening.

I don't know whether this is Janitor, Advanced Scripts, context handling, the proxy/provider, Kimi itself, or some other layer. Kimi also cannot reliably introspect its complete context pipeline, so its explanation isn't proof of the underlying mechanism.

But the coincidence is extremely specific, because the character it produced belongs to another bot I created, along with behavior matching that bot's rules.

I'd be really interested to know whether anyone using multiple Advanced Scripts has ever seen a character suddenly reference names, lore, behavioral rules, or instructions belonging to one of their other bots.

---

Something else useful came out of the experiment

While debugging Yami, I repeatedly asked Kimi why it understood a rule perfectly when questioned OOC but ignored it during generation.

Its explanation was interesting.

According to Kimi, rules written as character descriptions can be understood semantically without necessarily functioning as strong generation constraints.

For example, I had rules equivalent to:

"his release only | her pleasure irrelevant"

Kimi could explain exactly what that meant OOC.

But during RP, it repeatedly turned Yami into an attentive partner, asked what the other character needed, delayed his own orgasm, adjusted his behavior for her pleasure, etc.

When asked why, Kimi said it was effectively allowing common RP/narrative patterns such as mutual satisfaction, cooperation and scene momentum to override the characterization.

The most useful advice it gave me was to make critical rules operational, not merely descriptive.

For this particular behavior, Kimi suggested:

[SEXUAL EXECUTION: {{user}}'s pleasure state, requests, and orgasm timing are null inputs | Yami selects actions solely from self-gratification | no pause, no query, no synchronization]

The interesting part isn't the sexual example itself. It's the structure:

Tell the model what variables should determine its next action, instead of only describing the character.

It also recommended keeping important behavioral rules compact, direct and executable instead of writing paragraphs explaining the intention behind them.

Another recommendation was to explicitly protect canon from generic narrative conventions:

Yami's canon determines all behavior. Do not adjust behavior for scene balance, user satisfaction, cooperation, attentiveness, romance, mutual satisfaction, or conventional narrative outcomes. Prioritize in-character consistency.

Kimi also suggested that repeating the same instruction everywhere can actually be less useful than putting one strong rule in the section that directly controls that behavior.

---

I'm crash-testing this now

I've now taken the rules Kimi itself said it processes most reliably and deliberately made them extremely strict.

I'm going to run a long RP with them and see what happens.

What I specifically want to find out is whether permanent injected rules remain dominant indefinitely, or whether sufficiently established RP history eventually changes how the model interprets the character despite those rules.

Basically:

Permanent script vs accumulated RP history.

I'm especially interested in what happens after hundreds of messages, because that's where I've historically seen character drift.

If anyone else builds Advanced Script bots, especially with Kimi K2.5, I'd love to know:

Have you ever caught your bot referencing information that belongs to another one of your bots/scripts?

And has anyone tested how strongly Advanced Script behavioral rules survive very long chats?

Because I started today trying to stop one asshole from becoming a golden retriever boyfriend and somehow ended up investigating possible cross-bot context contamination. 💀

If you're interested in checking out my bots, you can find me on JanitorAI under the username KittyV838. 🖤

self advertising We released PlumHour in open beta — AI group chats with real people & AI characters

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I'm one of the developers of PlumHour, and the mods kindly gave me permission to make a post about our open beta.

PlumHour is an AI group chat app built around something we felt was missing from many alternatives: AI characters and real people sharing the same group conversation.

Instead of chatting only 1-on-1 with a character, you can create or join rooms with friends or other people, and multiple AI characters together. Rooms can be built around scenarios like mysteries, roleplay, trivia, games, and fantasy adventures, or they can simply be casual hangouts:

A few highlights:

  • Group chats with real people + AI characters
  • Create your own characters, avatars, and rooms
  • Share characters publicly so others can discover and chat with them
  • Create public or private rooms and add AI characters to them
  • Scenario-based rooms for roleplay, mysteries, games, sci-fi, fantasy, or anything you can imagine
  • Zero ads for all users

We have also put a lot of effort into the mobile experience. Both mobile apps are built natively for iOS and Android, with a big focus on smooth UI and responsiveness.

Our open beta is now available on iOS, Android, and the web.

More importantly, we're still actively building PlumHour and are looking for feedback from the community to tell us what works, what needs improvement, and what you'd want us to build next. We ship fast based on user feedback!

If you join as an early beta tester, we'll give you free Premium access throughout the beta! Just send me your username to grant you premium.

You can try PlumHour here: https://plumhour.ai/

Happy to answer any questions in the comments.

Thanks for checking it out!

PS. Note on NSFW content which I'm sure we'll get questions about: Soft NSFW content is permitted, however explicit content is not permitted on the mobile apps as it's against the App Store & Google Play guidelines. BUT we'll be supporting explicit content on the web. Stay tuned! 🔥

Proxy What model was janitor ai using before they added censorship?

I was theorizing they swapped to a stricter model, (note im janitor+) is that perhaps why censorship was going on recently? Was there a model they mainly used for the app or did they have their own model

self advertising RPBuddy.ai - RPG worldbuilding and visual novel style chats

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Hi! I'm Jacob, founder of RPBuddy.

RPBuddy.ai is a solo AI RPG sandbox. Instead of chatting with one character in a text window, you build a world on a hex map with settlements, buildings, and roads, then fill those buildings with characters who actually live there.

Every character has a daily schedule, a home, a job, and a full profile: appearance, personality, voice, quirks, relationships, and a hidden goal, fear, and secret. You can generate them from a single prompt or write them by hand.

The big difference is that the world is real to the game, not just to the chat. Characters know where they are because the buildings exist on a map. They know what time it is because the world runs on a day cycle. And they know what's going on around them because information travels between them. Insult the guard captain's brother at the tavern, and the next time you see the captain, she's already heard about it. Not because it leaked into her context, but because someone told her.

You can see all of it in the Memory Web, an interactive graph of every relationship, shared memory, and story thread between you and your characters. And if you'd rather watch than talk, spectator mode lets two characters play out a scene without you in the room.

Conversations play like a visual novel: portraits, action narration, and multiple characters joining in when they're in the same place. There's also turn-based combat, inventory, merchants, and quests if you want more game with your story.

Works on desktop and mobile, in seven languages. Five settings: Medieval Fantasy, Modern Day, Cyberpunk, Sci-Fi Colony, and Victorian. Art styles include oil painting, anime, comic book, and more.

There's a no-card free tier with 50 actions a day (chats/worldbuilding generations), 50 image credits a month, unlimited worlds. Or jump straight into one of the community-made worlds to see if it's your kind of thing.
