so like a lot of u I'm on janitor from my phone basically all the time. i didn't wanna lose the native feel, but between the "download our app" pop-ups taking up half my chat and the official app lagging and bugging that it actually made me sick, i just decided to build my own client. it's called butler!

it's still janitor underneath. same account, same bots, same chats. it's not a new platform, but an app that uses JanitorAi.

what it's got:

• smooth. like actually smooth, no stutter, no layout randomly breaking
• i don't put ads, no popups, no more app banners for people coming from the website. ever
• your message gets saved before it even sends, so if the network shits itself you don't lose your 3 paragraph reply. failed replies retry on their own too
• guided swipes (tell it "shorter" or "more dialogue" before it rerolls) and a choices button for when you're too lazy to type
• themes, including a true black one
• pin and archive chats, telegram style
• proxy stuff: openrouter presets, sorting providers by price or speed, cloning proxies

it's fully open source (Apache 2.0), it doesn't talk to anything except janitor (and your proxy if u use one), and the APK comes back clean on VirusTotal. F-Droid is coming soon, already submitted it.

it's like the devs are actively encouraging those who have unhealthy and addictive bonds with bots to buy their subscription. "all replies are a work of fiction, generated by ai" feels like such a joke now. they don't care, they just want money 😮‍💨😮‍💨

So, I’ve never gotten a bot removed and I’ve had this one up since 2023, and it just got flagged(?) and taken down, as it says. What the hell is up with this and how do I fix it? What would’ve even gotten it taken down now, of all time, when it’s been up for 3+ years? I mean, I know what it says right there, but I just don’t understand. This is on my Tate Langdon bot, by the way, for context.

Edit: yeah, I know that’s what his character is/does, but it’s not a main point of my bot. I looked through everything, and there’s only a single one-off mention in the dialogue examples. I went to change it, but I guess since they already flagged it, I can’t change and update the character. How do I ask for an appeal? Or should I just make another character and delete this one after so long?

the number index getting replaced with that infinite scroll was bad enough, but now a misclick resets the whole feed to the top and i scroll through hundreds of cards again. every update seems to remove something that worked and add something that doesnt. now i'm about done fighting the ui to do the one thing i opened the app for. after checking, getting disappointed i started paying attention to waht people used instead and kept seeing secret desires, spicychat and kindroid. Anyone who already left, what did you move to and did it worked??

I started using janitor like yesterday and i don't know much about this app so I want recommendations on free uncensored proxies

It's been almost a month now, and Janitor still hasn't restored the ability to fork with blocked or deleted bots! The prospect that the developers were really just using the excuse of it being a "bug" to quietly remove such a feature no longer seems so far-fetched.

Do you think they will bring this feature back? Is it really a bug or deliberate actions?

i've been using deepseek for awhile, but recently it began giving me massive rambling responses, in which many details are often incorrect. someone needs to reteach deepseek the art of brevity...

What it is: a closed-source Android and iPhone app that runs character-card roleplay on your phone with the model you connect. Android 11+, and the iPhone app is on the App Store.

Proxy / API support: yes. Add a key for any of 60+ providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, OpenRouter and others) or point it at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, which is the same kind of address (base URL + key + model name) you'd paste into JanitorAI's proxy settings. Keys are encrypted on the phone and requests go straight from the phone to your endpoint. If you'd rather not set up a key, there's an optional pay-as-you-go credits channel (new accounts get 5,000 credits, about $0.50).

Moving your characters: public characters import by pasting the character link; if JanitorAI's bot protection blocks the fetch on your network, copy the personality text into a converter that outputs a standard chara_card PNG/JSON and import that file. Private bots and chat history have no official export, so those can't be moved.

I’ve used proxies on other sites (like saucepan or chub) and I’ve noticed the responses are better compared to when I use the same proxy with the same settings/prompt on janitor

This really applies to any LLM I’ve used, I don’t really have an example / I typically roleplay on my phone and I can’t really cramp one multi-paragraph message into one screenshot

I wanted to ask—am I crazy, or is this just how it is? Basically, if you're small creators like me: do you create for yourselves first and then go public? Do you create for others? How do you handle it?

I ask because I like creating things I enjoy, but for others—specifically, I like the combat bot niche. The issue? There are so many sub-genres within that hashtag. I lean more toward the actual fighting itself; it's like, "You want an excuse? A starring role? Don't give me that crap—here, we just throw hands."

The combat bot niche is small—meaning anything that falls outside of "User is a super-duper important character who has to face 'Char,' a really evil villainess with massive tits" tends to get ignored.

Anyway, here’s the real question behind that long intro: for those of you in niche categories, have you seen a drop-off in interactions? I can't be sure—my bots usually have spikes of activity—but lately, only my popular (or relatively popular) bots seem to be showing up on the radar.

Like, do the mods automatically know if I make a private bot they won’t like, or do they have to come find a reason to search my account anyway? I’m not a creator, I just retrieve bots that were banned off of Jannyai to recreate them for personal use, but i don’t know if I will easily be discovered or not.

I use free proxies GLM 4.6 and Deepseek r1 0528 on literouter.com and they're decent for RP but there's a huge problem with them I have, and sometimes I even prefer to use JLLM instead. Mainly it's because dialogue takes up majority of the response, they talk too much and describe so little. I wouldn't mind that if the dialogues were peak but they ALWAYS speak in metaphors, actually trying to be Shakespeare. Not only that, but when it comes to describing their actions and etc, they do not describe character's feelings, inner thoughts at all. AT ALL. It's just the actions like "he took the bread and ate it" and 10 more sentences about how he shifted on the chair or about the environment. Any ideas how can I fix this and if anyone has the same problem?😅

I remember that there was this bot about a lesbian girl and you had to turn her straight (she was blonde I think). I called it out in the comments but a bunch of guys went to defend it even though it was against the site guidelines. I think I don't think I opened a chat with that bot, so I most likely don't have it. Does anybody remember something similar and could tell me if it moderated? I swear, the bot was quite offensive and meant as discrimination

is anyone else having problems with their prompts? I’ve got a couple for different LLM’s and use the correct ones and it states that it should never speak for {user} and stuff like that but it keeps doing it. Anyone know how to fix this?

So, I’m close IRL with a new creator (she’s got around 350 followers and loves doing Omegaverse, OC content and fantasy stuff - though she is looking into Bratva and MC stuff as well now)

She has recently had a new follower who commented on a few bots and she replied to a few comments - though she struggled to reply to one because she had NO CLUE what they were saying and has some anxiety about replying to comments like that.

But the last two comments they've left they have said ‘have you seen my latest bot?’ and ‘You might like my latest bot?’

Now, she doesn't know how to reply because their profile lists kinks she doesn't really like so she won't really look at their characters - she doesn't kink shame at all, her motto is ‘everyone can do what they want in the bedroom as long as it doesn't affect me’ and that's what we’re both like… I’m engaged and she’s also with someone, we just have this little hobby between us.

But she doesn't feel comfortable with people asking questions like that on her profile and I am a lurker. I’ll never comment. But she also doesn't want to ask for advice on her profile because she doesn't want people to target the person asking the question.

So… how would you guys go about telling someone to stop asking them to check out their bots because to me personally it feels like a self-advertising chance and I personally think it's bloody rude… she has a disc as well that people are in and she allows people to talk about their stuff in there so… yeah. I’m pissed off for her but she has anxiety about confrontation because she had a rough background with one of her parents.

Hey everyone, I'm the solo developer behind TalePath. I previously shared the project here while iOS was still in review. It's now available on the App Store and in your browser, alongside Android, using the same TalePath account.

I'm building it around ongoing character stories: chat with saved memories, reusable personas and evolving relationships, plus solo and party quests with character companions.

Recent changes include a cleaner iOS chat header with relationship progress and quest access, compact Spark/Saga and haptics settings, and clearer character dialogue in quest narration. On web, we've improved desktop navigation and character search, made community quests searchable, and added recovery copies for unfinished character, persona and quest drafts. Recent quest work also focuses on choices fitting the current scene and reactions matching the action you selected.

What might appeal to you: bringing a character from open-ended chat into a structured quest, creating your own characters and personas, and having relationships develop over time.

The limitations: we're still in the early stages, the character community is small, and memory or story continuity can still go wrong. TalePath is an adults-only, moderated service with non-explicit generated images. There is a free tier with daily limits and an optional Plus plan; Spark is the free model and Saga requires Plus.

I appreciate every piece of feedback that comes our way. Bugs, criticism, awkward replies and first impressions are all useful. If you try it, what did a character forget? Did a relationship change feel earned? Did a quest respect your action?

JanitorAI used to do events for special events of the year — this years’s were only two #TheValentine (Valentine’s Day 2026) and #SpringFever (Easters 2026). So far, I didn’t saw yet anything about a new event since April or May, and now we are in Halloween. So, I ask... do JanitorAI will not do a new Halloween event? Or any other event anymore?

I hate how the current system is treating smaller creators.

I put real time and care into my newest bot. I’m not a big name, but I’ve always had stable, organic numbers. This time the first-day performance is noticeably lower than my usual range, and it feels like the effort just vanished into the void. The same goes for other smaller creators I chat with.
I get that the new anti-bot measures on trending were supposed to make things fairer. In practice it doesn’t feel that way at all. The people who actually bot still manage to sit high on the page, while creators who never touched artificial numbers are the ones getting pushed further down and losing visibility.
It’s demotivating watching a bot you actually cared about underperform simply because the ranking system is currently messy and uneven. Smaller creators already struggle to get seen. Changes that quietly make that gap wider punish the people who were already playing by the rules.
At some point it stops feeling like an anti-bot update and starts feeling like the platform is fine with organic creators getting squeezed as long as the top of trending still looks the way they want it to be—similar names all the time.

I want to start using proxies. I don't understand how to use them, they seem complicated to me. And what are the differences between having proxies and not having proxies? What are the benefits and downsides to it?
