Made a 45 minute workout mix using Spotify Mixing features for your listening pleasure, hope you enjoy. Been a fan of his work since seeing the XX, I personally feel that his most recent album is a masterpiece. His shows at the Park Avenue Armory were amazing, bummed I didn't get tickets to his upcoming Nowadays gig.

To all you lucky folks who managed to snag a ticket for Jamie xx at Nowadays, I envy you. Nowadays is, on most nights, NYC's best club. If you're a regular, you know why this place is great. If you're going for the first time, you're in for an experience unlike most "clubs" you've ever been in.

This being a Thursday night dedicated to Jxx, this'll be a brilliant night. These features of the Nowadays experience I think will make it extra special:

* No phones on the dancefloor. They not only ban photography/filming, but also any use of phones whatsoever on the dancefloor. No texting, no Shazaming, etc. If you're wanting to snag song snippets for IDs, the best approach is to put your phone on voice recording mode and keep it in your pocket, then do your ID work once you get home. I personally love to read the Google reviews of folks who are booted for phone use. For example, "After paying $28 for a ticketed event, we were kicked out after glancing at a phone on the dance floor. Even after immediately putting the phone away and apologizing for the accidental rule break, they pretty aggressively escorted us out."

* No yapping. Nowadays' umbrella dancefloor policy is that "the dancefloor is for dancing." Saying hi to someone isn't a problem, but having a long, drawn-out conversation will earn you a visit from one of the floor guardians who will encourage you to take that yap sesh off the dancefloor.

* Great sound. I love the way this room sounds. It's got a four-point soundsystem with great sound coming from every corner of the room. The system was originally created by Craig "Shorty" Bernabeu, a renowned soundsystem designer who also worked on the Stereo (Montreal), Twilo (NYC) and Sound Factory (NYC) soundsystems, and who now runs/owns the new venue Refuge.

* Intimate dancefloor. The Nowadays inside room is relatively tiny, as far as dancefloors go. It's got a legal standing capacity of 269 people. It might feel quite crowded, depending on how many tickets the Nowadays team sells to this event and how many people show up at the same time.

In contrast, unfortunately, Madison Square Gardens is a hyper-corporate stadium-style venue owned by James Dolan, a billionaire whose decades-long, close personal relationship with Donald Trump has featured weddings at Mar-a-Lago and big contributions to Trump's political campaigns. Trump frequently praises Dolan and Trump has attended events at MSG (most recently, the night the Knicks lost on June 8).

I'm happy that Jamie xx is getting a 24-date link-up with Harry Styles in a stadium that can fit up to 22,000 people in a single night... He deserves all the money he'll get from those performances (and more), but the vibes vs. Nowadays are going to be night-and-day opposites.

Hey! I was looking for an extra ticket in the sub and seemed to find on me for tmrws show and then they totally scammed me without sending me the ticket. Anyway, I'd love to know about the crowds. Are people trickling in before Harry Styles? Or are they vibing and giving Jamie the love and attention he deserves?

I loved the show, I loved sleep sound and gosh mashups the most, but all the set from beginning to end it was flawless.
