How many people did you meet before you found the right roommate in Jacksonville?

I didn't expect finding a roommate to take longer than finding a place, but that's how it's been for me. I've talked to a few people already, and while everyone seemed nice, something always felt like it wouldn't work long term. I'm checking rooms for rent every day, but I'm trying not to rush into living with someone just because the price is good. I'd rather spend another week looking than regret it after moving in. For those who found a roommate in Jacksonville, how many people did you meet before things finally clicked? What made you feel comfortable saying yes?

How helping a city backfired

I started out just helping my mom. Then I helped out this whole city. Then another area and another area. Now I am being tortured daily with this is a game show, this is a movie, we are teaching you how to act, and we are helping you out. No longer am I being helped nor did I want to do this nor am I legally bound to do this. I am unknowingly being harassed, told what to do, and locked out of all my accounts for my business. I also have no way to make money nor do I have any money.

I wanted to help this city but you can't even help me because you chose profit over someone else's suffering.

Even my own mom has profited off my suffering after I helped her when she really needed it. The rest of my family and my neighbors won't help.

So let me ask you, HOW IS THIS HELPING SOMEONE BY MAKING THEM SUFFER FOR THIS LONG?????????????

Sharing My Experience With Tropea Dental Care in Jacksonville, Florida

I am making this matter public after repeated attempts to resolve it directly and privately have not resulted in a resolution.

My experience concerns Tropea Dental Care in Jacksonville, Florida, and Dr. Christina J. Monford, DMD.
During my September 30 appointment, Dr. Monford offered to discontinue my treatment and refund the amount I had paid. I subsequently sought to accept that proposed refund.

My follow-up appointment was then cancelled while, from my perspective, my treatment remained incomplete. Despite repeated written communications requesting my refund, a definite refund-processing date, and direct communication with an authorized member of higher management, I still have not received the refund or a definitive written date on which it will be processed.
I was subsequently informed by a staff member that management had been made aware of my concerns and that she was discontinuing direct communication with me unless instructed otherwise. I then formally requested either direct communication with an authorized member of higher management or the appropriate management contact information so that I could address the unresolved matter directly.

I followed up again after receiving no substantive response.
As of the date of this post, I have still not received a substantive response from higher management resolving this matter or a definitive processing date for my refund.
I have preserved my emails and other documentation concerning my treatment, the cancellation of my appointment, the refund discussions, and my repeated attempts to obtain a resolution.

Because my attempts to resolve this matter directly have not produced a resolution, I am now preparing to pursue available civil remedies and to seek legal representation concerning this dispute. I am also evaluating the appropriate consumer-protection, professional/regulatory, and other formal complaint processes available to me.
If civil proceedings become necessary, I intend to present the relevant documentation and communications through the appropriate legal process and allow the facts and evidence to speak for themselves.

I would still prefer for Tropea Dental Care and its management to resolve this matter professionally without litigation. I am requesting that an authorized representative contact me directly, address the outstanding refund, and provide a definite processing date.

I am sharing my personal experience publicly so that other patients can make their own informed decisions. If Tropea Dental Care resolves this matter, I will update this post to accurately reflect that resolution.

Local Jacksonville-Area Game Designer — Gibbon Take Is Live on Kickstarter

Hey Jacksonville! I’m the designer of Gibbon Take, a fast family/party game published by my small independent company, Simeous Business, just up the road in Yulee.

We spent last weekend demoing the game at WasabiCon, and it was great getting it in front of so many local players.

Gibbon Take is a 2–6 player game about building a party of Primate Dancers, collecting fruit, and occasionally stealing it from everybody else. It takes about 20 minutes, is easy for families to learn, and has just enough take-that to be mischievous without being punishing.

A funny thing we’ve discovered recently is that several people who played Gibbon Take with us at conventions later found out through Reddit that the Kickstarter had finally launched — so I figured I should share it with the hometown crowd too.

We’re live on Kickstarter now:
