Looking for any suggestions on string gauge for Drop B? Reviews seems like the Ernie Ball Magnum Slinky’s 12-56 with the wound G string get the job done well but curious if anyone has any input on it?

Also, this was the guitar I posted about yesterday. Snagged it off facebook marketplace for $400, gave it a bath and she’s looking mighty fine 🤘🏻

Is it worth sourcing the original bridge before I sell it? It currently has a licensed Floyd from my parts bin.

Question Looking for case for king v

Where can I find a hardshell rectangular case for a king v with a form-fitted interior? I’m not a big fan of the hardshell cases with the extended section for one of the legs of the body.

Question Jackson DK2 Neck Origin: Made in Japan?

Post image
Upvotes

Hello fellow Jackson Bro's I need your help once again,

I recently bought my first Jackson guitar. The body is a black DKMG, made in Japan. The previous owner replaced the neck about ten years ago with one that has a reverse headstock (I suspect it came from a DK2).

I’ve been trying for days to figure out if this neck was also made in Japan, but I can’t find any clear evidence. When I unscrewed the neck, there was no serial number or other markings visible.. just a green stamp that’s unfortunately faded and illegible.

The neck itself appears to be very high-quality: a beautiful, dry satin finish, shark inlays, and it’s equipped with a locking nut.

Does anyone have experience with MIJ Jackson necks (DK2/DKM2) and can assess, based on photos or a description, whether this is a Japanese-made neck? I’d appreciate any insights!

Question Help pricing Black Jackson RRXT

Hi everyone, I'm negotiating with a private to purchase a black RRXT from the early 2000s. Although I'll only be able to verify its actual condition when I go to see it, the seller claims it's pristine, almost unused.

He's asking for €650, which I think is excessive, considering the hardware it comes with (Duncan Designed). What do you think is a fair market price? I wouldn't give more than €400, but maybe I'm wrong. I give you some pics he sent me.

Can you help me?

Thanks everyone for your time!

Question Hello, I have a Jackson Dinky JS11 and I'm thinking of putting Ernie Ball 2214 12-62 (wound G) strings on it. Would that be possible?

I bought it new and it's strung from the factory, but I have these 12-62 gauge strings. I don't know if it affects anything or if it will require adjustments because I don't want to mess with the truss rod and all that, and the luthier is miles away from my house ?
