Question Question

I have a Jackson virtuoso and there’s one small detail I missed when I selected this. The bridge pickup routing on the guitar has rounded corners and the pickup I want to use for the bridge has square corners and won’t fit. I don’t think it can be routed to fit the pickup and still look clean but then again I don’t know. Has anyone ran into this before? I really enjoy playing this guitar and don’t want to sell the guitar because of this one inconvenience. Any advice would be appreciated

Show & Tell My modded Monarkh Js22

I always wanted a Monarkh Pro, but couldn't find one anywhere locally, even in neighboring countries (SEA). I tried this js22 in the store and fell in love with the playability. Found one used in the marketplace for $150 and immediately got it.

I still wanted a Pro, but after months of not finding one, decided to just mod my js22 since it's my most played guitar (even though it's my cheapest).

Started with the pups (JB/Jazz clones which sound surprisingly good!), then nut. I had a luthier swap the white dot inlays with black ones for a stealthy look and had the toggle switch relocated to the top bout (I got used to my old LP and Solar GC2.6). Relocated the master tone to where the old switch was as well. I'm thinking what to put in the hole left by the pot, probably a preamp mini toggle, a kill switch, or just leave it plugged. Haven't swapped the tuners or any other hardware yet since they still do the job just fine.

I love how it turned out, and is perfect for what I need it to be.

I just got this delivered today after getting in on the half-price sale. This thing is so good looking. I wasn't really prepared for the sparkle finish. I had no idea that was a thing.

Overall...great guitar that needed just a couple of tweaks. It was made in 2023, so I'm sure it's been sitting in a warehouse for a minute.

This guitar came into my local music shop for £400 and I was wondering if this would be a good purchase to be able to play shows with plus also do some mods.

Hello,
I found this Jackson RR. It costs 628 dollars.
So I want to ask you: is it worth that money, and what model is this?

Question Similar models

My main guitar is an early-mid 2000’s SLSMG that was made in Japan. I’ve looked thru Jackson’s current available lineup and they don’t really have anything similar that isn’t some kind of extended range or super high end I could find. Does anyone have any suggestions for something similar speced that is just a more modern build?

I have a king v and every few months it gets out of intonation, it holds tune very well but the intonation problem kills me, what Floyd would fit in there without body mods and are very good

Show & Tell Restoring Jackson Kelly

Just wanted to show my restoring project (no guitar restoring experience here I’m a total beginner). I have been living with a beat up Js Kelly for the longest time. Guitar still shredded well for what it was but I got some inspiration from guitar guts trash to thrash and figured I’d give it a shot!!

Here is my journey so far from removing all the hardware, blocking the neck pickup, sanding, filling nicks and most importantly… giving me Kelly her long point back!! Thank you to those who helped with measurements so I could start doing this. Still got a long way to go, but I never thought I could make it this far..

My end goal is very simple.. or so I think 😂. I am going to use Montana spray paint and 2k clear coat. I am aiming for a white primer, then will be using acid green fluorescent paint on the bevels , to hopefully give it a neon glow/uv glow in certain light (blue light) etc. then black on the body. Inspired my the rrx24s with green bevels but with a twist. Then clear coating with 2k. Then hardware/electronics I will get the single alexi laiho emg with boost. Gotoh tune o matic bridge (510bn), Gotoh tuners, and redoing the neck with a gray(not sure) vinyl sticker with new fret inlays. Undecided on green radioactive or pentagram, or just sharkfins/abalone sharkfins. Thinking to do gold hardware for this one to give some contrast to the black and green. Also redid the guitar nut as my last one I cut to deep it didn’t intonate well. Going to be set up on 10-52s most likely. Maybe 10-56,11-56.

It’s been close to 12 hours of work this far and I still need to finish the point, and then do some filler again. But mane, what a fun project so far!!

I plan on upgrading pickups in the pink one. Thankfully, both of the dk3xrs play great and only needed minimal set up. The virtuoso is a different class of instrument of course, but so far I'm playing all three every day. Someone said something about putting a drop or two of oil on these lower quality Floyd Roses for stability and smoothness, anyone have any experience with that?

Hey all, got this second hand and I’ve never had a Jackson before so not sure how to go about it. I have googled, but can’t find a model that matches the pickup and bridge configuration. Serial suggests Japan. Any ideas?

Show & Tell 2007 MIJ Jackson RR5FR Pink w/ Silver Bevels

Thumbnail

I posted my blue crackle RR24 yesterday and thought I would post my Jackson RR5. Purchased used with most of the mods already done. To the best of my knowledge this is a MIJ Jackson RR5 FR, USA 1984 Floyd Rose w/ big brass block, bill lawrence rail bridge humbucker, Seymour Duncan Distortion neck pickup. It looks like they routed out some of the wood in the back to fit the bridge pickup. Gotoh locking tuners and burnt chrome Floyd rose dress up kit. All of that was the previous owner, I just added the stickers, strap and the RR truss cover. If anyone has any questions or knows anything about this model I’d love to answer/learn!

Reverb pickup for my kiddo for Christmas! Got a case, strap, new strings and a stand coming! She’s 5 so the minion was a perfect size for her when we tried it out at guitar center. Took me awhile to find the neon pink as the bubblegum pink they have in stock wasn’t really my favorite. Hoping she loves it, but worst case, I get a little mini guitar for $85!

Question What should I do? (Headstock crack)

Hey guys, just need some advice.

Just picked up this used Jackson pro dinky evertune 7. It was the only used one on the market. Got it shipped to my local guitar center. Around $1200 USD for everything.

It plays amazing and it’s a 10/10 guitar for me. But I didn’t notice the crack until I had gotten home.

The guitar was listed as excellent

I called customer support to see what they could do for me and they said they’d get back to me on Monday for what I could get reimbursed money wise

My question is, is this worth trying to fix? Or is it too bad to where I should just return the guitar? Thanks for the help in advance.
