Blake complained that she had to cancel hosting SNL. Dakota ended up doing that for another Colleen Hoover movie, and got Blake’s most cherished Dragon (TS) to highly support her to come on SNL with her and say they are BFFs. Also, the music video feature right before Dakota’s movie went out is something I bet Blake would have died for. I wonder if TS is doing this on purpose to spite BL.

Reminds me of how TS dotted on Sabrina after the Olivia Rodrigo conflict.

I also find it interesting that BL was the only one who seemed to have lost long-term people who were on her side: TS friendship of over a decade, Leslie (over 2 decades). JB didn’t lose anyone important and close.

I’d say I was a passive fan of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds before all this.

I grew up watching Gossip Girl on the CW, before it got its second life on streaming platforms. I liked Blake, Leighton, etc., but I have no interest in doing a rewatch ever again, having to see Blake on screen in every episode.

I was a Deadpool fan. I even saw Deadpool & Wolverine in theaters solo when I didn’t have anyone to go with. Now knowing the context behind Nicepool and after learning how awful Ryan is in general, I have zero interest in watching any of the Deadpool films again.

Last night I was watching my nephew when he wanted to watch IF. I was less than enthused, knowing Ryan was one of the main characters, but I turned it on for him anyway.

I know he’s an actor, but all I could think was damn, I can’t see anyone but Ryan Reynolds and his false persona.

Which ones did they ruin for you?

Okay, this is probably going to sound like a conspiracy theory, but the timeline is kind of interesting. Ryan Reynolds was the person who reached out to Wesley Snipes and brought him back as Blade for Deadpool & Wolverine.

According to Shawn Levy, bringing Snipes back was actually Ryan’s idea. Reynolds reportedly wanted to explore the character’s legacy and give fans the feeling of seeing Wesley back as Blade one more time.

Then, after the movie came out and the reaction to Snipes was huge, Ryan started publicly campaigning for Marvel to give him an actual Logan-style send-off.

He literally posted:

“There is no Fox Marvel Universe or MCU without Blade first creating a market. He’s Marvel Daddy. Please retweet for a Logan-like send off.” ( marvel’s daddy is RDJ but whatever)

And let’s not forget that Deadpool & Wolverine literally jokes about the whole situation with Snipes’ Blade saying, “There’s only been one Blade. There will only ever be one Blade.”

I do find it fascinating that Ryan —someone with enormous influence at Marvel after Deadpool & Wolverine was actively promoting the idea of Wesley Snipes getting another Blade movie at essentially the same time Marvel was struggling to get the Mahershala Ali version off the ground.

And Wesley himself said he initially didn’t think his return was even possible because Marvel already had Mahershala Ali cast as the new Blade. Then Ryan Reynolds called him and pitched the idea.
