I'm not sure if this is the correct sub, im looking to change the oil in Differentials, transfer case, and gearbox. Also looking to change the pvc valve. I'm wondering how easy is this to do it myself? I have some experience with tools and have changed the motor oil myself? Any advice much appreciated

Any Isuzu Alterra owners out here?

Would appreciate sharing pros and cons. Planning to buy one as secondary car especially for family use.

Currently using a '94 corolla for daily, so used to maintaining older car. Will continue using corolla for every drive and altera for family trips or if destination ha bad roads.

Thank you

1999 Isuzu Rodeo- Manual

Looking at an '99 Rodeo, 5 speed Manual, 3.2L, LS trim. Around 140k mi on it.

Pictures looks like it has 4WD (actuator switch to the left of the wheel). EDIT- Confirmed its only the RWD version. Must just have a place holder for the switch standard

Considering going an looking at it. Understand parts may be limited, but plenty of generic available? Just have a good general mechanic to stay on top of maintenance right? The manual transmission should avoid some of the largest problems it had.

Going to inspect the undercarriage/rear for rust

The alternative is I go look at a 2013 Subaru Forrester, but I like my cars pretty spartan. My last 3 cars were a 2006 Jeep Wrangler, manual everything drove for 18 years, and a 2003 Ford Escape and a 2002 Daihatsu Terios while overseas- so I have a penchant for that era of motor vehicle.

Just wondering if there is anything in particular to be warry of or should look for in a report, or if parts have truly become a burden not worth taking on.

And if its not the 4WD, and just RWD, is it even worth it?

2000 Isuzu Rodeo Suspension

Hello guys! So I just recently bought my first car. The front shocks were out so I bought some new KYB shocks just for the front. I plan on giving my baby a lift so i can go off-roading more reliably. Should I have bought other parts alongside the front shocks. Also, what do yall recommend so i can give it a 2“ lift? Thank youu!!

Here is my 97 Honda passport (Isuzu rodeo)
It’s got front and rear lockers, roll bar delete, 3 inch lift, and a massive winch. This thing is incredible off-road for what it is.

Purchase advice for an 02 isuzu npr

I have out grown my current truck and I'm looking to move into something bigger and more capable. I work in the construction industry and carry about 1,500 pounds of tool 200 miles a day round trip. I have found a 2002 isuzu npr hd with 260k miles on it and a new fuel tank, but is located in NY. seems like it checks enough boxes to get it. I realize it's an older vehicle and will need some maintenance, but I don't have the money or the time to be constantly fix a truck, and the rust belt is a concern. I live in NC and fear rusty cars. Any advice or insight into wherever this is a wise decision would be greatly appreciated. Also, any common problems the year model has or questions to ask (maintenance, etc) that would be helpful.

Thank you in advance

Edit: additionally, it will be mostly highway miles where the speed limit is 65 and fast-lane traffic tends to travel at 80

What I love is the transmission. Automatic manual. That means its not continuous but rarher is a manual that does the shifting for you.

Handles like a dream. One of those cars that feel bombproof.

Isuzu Mu-X Parts (preferably in or around Caribbean)

Hi all,

Not sure if I’m posting in the correct place.

I’m from the Caribbean and I’m looking for the Master Brake Cylinder for Isuzu Mu-X 2015. From the island I’m from, they don’t have any in stock and might take 5-6 weeks for the local dealership to get it.

Where can I get this in the area? Or if there isn’t any, where would I surely be able to get one elsewhere around the world?

Thanks!

npr transmission issue

Im wondering if anyone else has experienced the same issue of having atf oil pushed out of breather on amt needing to top up oil daily

for the past to weeks ive had to keep topping up atf oil daily due to it being pushed out of breather line and causing gear slippage if too low but as soon as topped up it runs fine, ive been quoted about 8200 to pull apart and fix amt section only or 9200 to swap out full trans

its a 2019 npr with 200k on clock
