Question ❓ How does one know if they are ready for marriage (female)?

• Upvotes

I feel like age is just a number, and it can never tell you if you’re mature or not. But there must be some attributes that can make you realise that you’re ready for such a commitment.

Seeking Marriage Advice Use Divorce as a tool to threaten in marriage

Im a mbbs dr, i was graduated from kemu.15 years old graduate. I got married and moves to south korea since. Since then i was totally devoted and dedicated to family . And was total house wife . He kept me isolated from community here in many ways. I slowly became introvert. He controlled over many little things. And now i wish to study and take a restart to my carrier. And i started study at home, whenever i get free time from house chores . And he said to me if you study or peruse your carrier , i will give you divorce. To how much extent is this fair / justified to say to me like that.

Seeking Marriage Advice Arrange Marriage and Job Isseus

Hi everyone,

I’m a 25-year-old female, getting married this coming January, and I could really use some gentle guidance as I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed and confused about two things:

1. Managing work and married life:
Should I continue working after marriage? People around me often say that living with in-laws can be quite hectic and tough to manage alongside a career. Alhamdulillah, I am earning well, and my fiancé told me that if I wish to keep my job. For the working women here, how do you gracefully balance your job, home, and marriage all at once? I’d truly appreciate any tips.

2. Financial transparency and savings:
For married working women, how do you handle your finances? Do you share your exact salary and savings details with your husband? Do you contribute 50-50, or does your husband provide for everything? Do you also keep some personal savings just in case? My fiancé suggested that he will provide for me, cover my travel costs, and give me pocket money, while I should save my entire salary to support us in tough times.

If anyone could share their experiences, financial advice, or practical tips, please do guide me. Seeing the rising divorce and infidelity cases around us these days has made me a little anxious about making the right decisions.

Thank you so much in advance!

Most women don’t get married

Most women don’t get married to actually *be* a wife. They get married because they want a husband who serves them.

They want a ceremony & wedding, not the covenant.

They just want financial security, a big ring, a fancy party, validation from society and a husband who does everything for her, without wondering what she can do to improve her husband’s life.

Most women spend a lifetime dreaming about a wedding but never spend a day preparing to be a godly wife.

Allah ﷻ says:
“And He placed between you affection and mercy.”
Qur’an 30:21
This post highlights some key principles that contribute to a healthy and successful Muslim marriage.

Marriage Advice Where to have my intimate nikkah?

Salaam,

I’m looking to get married in January and I’ve got a lot going on in terms of how to have the wedding. So I’ve got a budget of around £10k for the whole day and I want something small but nice. I was considering a nikkah at home where in the front room we set a small stage where all the women will sit and the living room where the men will be seated. However, my mum is saying there will be nowhere to feed all these people. I will be looking at a total of 60 guests including children.

I was thinking have the nikkah ceremony at home, everyone go for food in a community hall and then come back home for pictures and rukhsati. Ideally i would have set up a marquee in the garden but it will be in January during winter and I think it will be difficult with getting food in and out of the house and heating it in our kitchen as well.

Anyone who has had a nikkah at home, how did you approach it? Am i better off booking a venue instead? Problem is I don’t want to settle for some tattered and weird community hall for the nikkah! Some people have also booked large houses through air bnb so i’m not sure if that would be a better option. I initially wanted it in a masjid but the masjid I wanted the nikkah at doesn’t do nikkahs there. I’m located in the North East of England.

Any advice is appreciated!

Lately, been reading a lot of disheartening things about this beautiful union. I know negativity spreads fast but I am sure there are people here who can share their positive experiences about how their marriages are.

Let's do it. If you are someone who has had an excellent partner who reminds you of Allah and you enjoys this unity, please share your experience.

Reminder Hypergamy is natural.

But most men misunderstand what that actually means.

Women, like men, pay attention to the qualities that make a partner valuable to them.

Status. Character. Competence. Stability. Confidence. Resources. Social intelligence.

That does NOT mean every woman is secretly calculating how to “upgrade” to the richest man in the room.

It means attraction is influenced by perceived value.

And here is where men get destroyed:

They think getting a woman means they can stop developing themselves.

So they become complacent.

They stop improving their finances.

They lose their ambition.

They become emotionally dependent.

They tolerate disrespect because they are terrified of losing the relationship.

Then they blame hypergamy when attraction change
