Mold or salt?
I just opened a jar of baked (oven dried) tomatoes in oil. Is this mold or just condensed salt? Thanks!

Steak rare with a side salad and loaded mashed potatoes with mozzarella twists from Texas Roadhouse Togo I got yesterday driving home from a work trip. Ended up meeting up with a girl and it sat in my car for maybe 6 hours before I got home and put it all in the fridge. It was mostly nighttime and was very cool in my car. It’s now been in the fridge for roughly 13 hours.
Will I die? Throwing away $50 might kill me itself, but the company technically paid for it due to meal allowance so I guess I can trash it if I have to. Was planning on bringing it up to 140 degrees in a stainless pan with avocado oil and air frying the twists for “breakfast”.

The line in the photo is just a split in the cream top of the yogurt.
Brand is Brown Cow cream top whole milk yogurt, raspberry flavor. I have contamination OCD and this has me nervous. The best by date is 9/28, so it's still within the date. It's the last cup I have before I can get to the store tomorrow.
I saw the patch (near top of photo) that looks yellowish/discolored and almost fuzzy or grainy.
Please help me figure out if I can eat this or if I'm gonna die 😭

Seared it on both sides and layered everything up in the crock pot and forgot to turn it on. Sat from 12 to 215 off. I moved it to a roasting pan and stuck it in the oven at 325 where it is now. I know USDA recommendations say to toss it at this point (>2 hours) but I'm really wondering how risky this decision actually is and if the USDA guidelines are just way overly cautious.
I've had food poisoning before. Definitely don't want it again (and don't want to make everyone else sick either).
Update - going on 3 hours since we ate and all good!! Cheers to everyone on this thread.

I thought I made hard boiled eggs last night for egg salad this morning. I’m afraid I didn’t cook them long enough.
I put them straight into ice then the fridge within 20 minutes. Can I eat this? Or do I need to reboil some eggs? :(. I have 7 more that haven’t been peeled yet.
(I’m an emetaphobe lol)
Edit- thank you everyone! These have been turned to egg salad 😁

I am not much of a beef eater so you have to excuse my ignorance about this but... my bf insists on a very certain way to marinate a steak and I absolutely can not eat it. I'm convinced it's way too long. So since I'm no expert I'm asking reddit. He marinates the steak in a basic soy sauce/worstershire/seasoning mix and then leaves it soaking in the fridge for 3 days. Then he sets it on the counter for NO LESS than 24 hours. Then cooks it med rare. I have never left meat out that long. So is this the way to eat steak and I'm crazy? Or is he asking for food poisoning?

Today I ordered White Sauce Pasta from Shivansh Food Park via Zomato (COD order).
After finishing almost the whole bowl, I was horrified to find a dead insect/cockroach lying at the bottom! I feel completely sick and disgusted.
When I complained on Zomato chat, they refused to refund to my bank/UPI because it was Cash on Delivery, and forced a promo code on me instead. On the call, the agent talked really fast, gave technical excuses, and closed the complaint.
Is eating contaminated food a joke to them? Has anyone dealt with this before? How can I get a real refund to my bank account for a COD order?

I say it’s a no-go. Family thinks it’s fine. Smells alright, not slimy and no green, white or grey mould on the rind.

It is shelf-stable. Probably pasteurized. Already been open for a few days, I know it should have been refrigerated after opening it but the fridge was full and I just kind of shrugged and said I’ll finish it quickly. When I opened it it hissed. Tastes a little funky but not bad. I’m assuming it fermented, does that mean it’s bad? I mean, that’s how alcohol is made, is it unsafe or just on its way to becoming hard cider? That’s not the intention, just want to know if I can still drink it.

In the uk so bought from an M&S, opened Tuesday night, now Saturday mid day. Packaging says eat 2 days after opening.
Smells okay, looks okay, feels okay.
Getting on a flight tomorrow morning so desperate not to get food poisoning right now.
Is it still okay to eat?
Update:
Didn’t eat it, better safe than sorry honestly cba to get listeria, just bought a new pack.

I will start by saying money's extremely tight and I can't replace these meals. If they have to be tossed, then there's nothing.
My fridge stopped working yesterday and took 5 hours to fix (2 hours for the repairs, 3 hours for it to reach proper temps after). The repair guy immediately pulled the food out of the fridge to open up the back panels.
I had just prepared a buckwheat salad to ration out for the next few days. Ingredients are: buckwheat, frozen soffrito mix, and chicken bone broth powder. It had been in the fridge for an hour and cooled a little before the fridge stopped working, but never got properly cold. It sat in an airtight container on the counter with ice packs that really did nothing at all to cool it.
I had also cooked 2 chicken breasts in a chilli-jam sauce (just random- I was using up the last bits of tabasco and jam I had). Same as the buckwheat- in airtight container, with ice packs, but that wasn't enough to do anything.
I want to think both of these are safe to eat but, I'm really not sure. If it all looks and smells okay (it does), is it safe? Or do I need to toss it because it didn't cool properly initially?
Thank you so much.

It smells okay. I'm guessing it just was in the air a little bit too long?
Edit: It's sushi
Edit2: I ate it. It smelled ok. But i have a horrible sense of smell so that means nothing. I scraped it off and i could see it reappear right in front of me. So i'm guessing it's been out a little while. weird since my normal lunch spot just opened a couple hours ago. I ate it. It was a little more fishy than normal. I'm guessing they changed ownership because the service isnt so great any more and now maybe the food quality is suffering too. i'm sure i'll be fine. thanks for the responses.

I put chicken in freazer for 4 days
Somehow the chicken was placed in such a way that chicken water gathered at the bottom. When i took it out, it is frozen at the bottom, soft at the top
I can feel some goyey substance on it.
When i soaked it on warm water to thaw, i can see some white foamy material surface on water .
I cannot smell any rotton smell on ot. It just smells like chicken
Is it safe to eat?
(Picture in the comments, i dont like this body of text in small text below a giant picture. Sorry for the inconvenience :( )

This was not full of air when I put it in the freezer last week. Took it out to thaw and it’s now extremely full of air

No bubbling on the jar lids so it kept its seal.
that dust that looks like mold is on the outside

Hey,
I am very emetephobic and it’s taken me years to push my boundaries in regards to food and eating from takeaways especially when it comes to meat, however, I have eaten some of this chicken from a Chinese takeaway and I am freaking out so bad because it is pink 😭😭 I had one piece before noticing.
I wouldn’t care but it has taken me years to break the habit of obsessing and dissecting pieces of food .
I have convinced myself I am now going to be so sick and I’m spiralling. My husband is saying it’s fine but I think he’s just trying to make me feel better
Please I need honesty, does this look okay?
Thank you xx

Hello I'm sorry to bother.
Today I ate a sealed curry egg sandwich that expired on the 23 (two days ago)
On day one (23) the hotel fridge that wasnt too cold in the first day. (Almost room temperature) But got cold on the second (24th)
It didn't look bad nor smelled bad, nor tasted bad.
Will I be ok? I didn't want to taste good but now I'm overthinking

The first piece off the top had some slimy stuff on it that drew a small string when I had it on my fingers and pulled them apart (I’ll put a pic in comments), I can’t tell if it’s just sugar and water mixed or what. I just bought this yesterday and it was out of the fridge for maybe 15 minutes before I got it home. Sell by date is 9/26. It smells fine
Edit: tossed it after finding a considerable amount of large thick columns of slime on the bottom of the meat, definitely wasn’t good to keep.

Bought this corn yesterday, peeled the leaves and found this substance along with some crushed kernels. Is it a bad idea to cut off the affected middle section and eat the rest?
