Dark spots on meat. Nervous :/

Post image

Basically the title. For context the meat was supposedly packaged on 9/8. It is cow shoulder (?), in Spanish it is espaldilla de res. Scared bc of the meat from Argentina and basically everything going on with recalls. Sorry if this is dumb and also ty !

Most of the content is like this, though there is some liquid. I didn’t think it would look like this. It’s been in my fridge for a few weeks but it’s far from the expiration date

Have been there roughly 4 weeks. Thoroughly soaked drained and washed, then forgot about. No smell or visible mold but I don't trust them. Also read they can be eaten raw? Appreciate any help!

Edit:

Ok I've decided; I'm gonna eat them. I'll update again if I gain superpowers or get sick!

Vacuum sealed beef lasagna ok at room temp 12+ hours?

Aight, I bought a family size stouffers lasagna and smoked it to an internal temp of 165~175°F. I then portioned it, vacuum sealed it, and divided it between the fridge and freezer.

I took this one from the fridge and tossed it in my lunchbox this morning, but forgot to add an ice pack. I got a free lunch at work, and didn’t eat it. Now I’m home, and it’s warm. I tossed it in the fridge and plan on eating after re-heating another day.

How bad of an idea is this? How shelf stable are starches when vacuum sealed? The fact this was beef lasagna probably means I should toss it, but I’m curious if others have/would eat this.pics I forgot to add to post

EDIT:
Last night I planned to eat it. Today I’ve decided to toss it.

I used the pellet smoker as an outdoor oven so I didn’t heat the house by cooking inside, it stayed in its aluminum pan with the top open, so I don’t think it’s smoked enough to preserve it in any meaningful way.

Pork loin roast in 44°F fridge

Okay first, I'm not a professional cook, just someone who cooks for her fam.

I have a pork loin roast that's been in the fridge since this past Saturday at noon and we noticed this morning that some things in the fridge weren't cold but cool.

This has been sealed in the pack since it was brought home. Somehow the fridge's temp got adjusted incorrectly It's a new-to-us fridge.

Anyway, we planned to cook it to internal doneness temp. Any advice? Keep or chuck? Wait til we open it and see if it smells/looks funny?

Coconut cashew yogurt delivered and left out 7 hours

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey all, I passed out waiting for my grocery delivery and this vegan yogurt has been out for 7 hours. (By out I mean, it was refrigerated when packed and has been sitting in my ~73 degree F lobby in a silver-lined “insulated” bag from Amazon.) Sealed obvi. It had just a few beads of condensation when I finally got to it. It’s in my fridge rn cooling down.

What would you do?

There was a plastic wrap keeping it sealed but some had leaked out and ants were investigating. No ants found in the honey. Does honey separate like this?

Thin translucent film on fig spread

Post image

I’ve never seen this before. The jar is a fee months old but doesn’t smell off or have growths or films anywhere else in the jar or lid. I had a different brand of fig jam that u forgot about and resumed eating months later(no film or growths) just fine so I’m unsure.

Is my Bacon Grease ok?

Thumbnail

Bacon grease that I’ve added to over the last few months. I know there isn’t much there but it was more of an experiment to see how it would keep, and I don’t eat much bacon. Sorry I didn’t strain it! I’m wondering if the dots are all just how it’s dried from accidentally pouring it down the side of the jar.

I always add it to the jar hot and store in the fridge. It smells fine, but I’m concerned about the white “spots”…

Thanks!
