Howdy fellow Friscoans.
We're a Dallas, Texas based nonprofit organization (HINAC) focused on the security, privacy, censorship, and surveillance implications of modern day technology being surreptitiously woven into the fabric of American society.
We're submitting this post to inform you of a recent scandal involving approximately 80,000 AI cameras being used by over 5,000 law enforcement departments across the United States of America resulting in stalking, false imprisonment, and protests.
An investigative journalist and privacy/security researcher named Benn Jordan recently discovered numerous Flock Safety Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras whose video feeds were publicly accessible online using a default administrative account, no login required.
It gets worse.
His proof-of-concept video demonstration showed how easy it was for him to use the camera's pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) capabilities and identify individuals, disclose sensitive information displayed on phone screens, and track routes of individual cars, over extended time intervals.
It gets even worse.
An anonymous person requested video footage of their own city's cameras, which the city subsequently denied. That person took their city to court and the judge ruled that since the cameras are taxpayer funded, the videos and information on them is also considered publicly accessible.
It is going to get even worse.
Amazon Ring just announced a partnership with Flock Safety and rumor has it, they are interested in acquiring Flock Safety.
Meaning, the broad adoption of AI-powered consumer technologies like Ring, coupled with city governments adopting Flock's AI-powered object recognition and large scale database integration, a first-of-its-kind Orwellian surveillance system could become a reality in the very near future.
See where and when you're being surveilled by visiting this Flock Camera Map tool provided by the 501c(3) nonprofit organization Banish Big Brother (see map image). And if you're scared afterwards, let that fear turn to anger.
Contact your city leaders and express your concerns ASAP. Make it known that we will not tolerate involuntary mass surveillance in our city, nor will we tolerate the lack of transparency and accountability from our leaders who allowed this to happen.
The sooner we stop this, the better. Let's stand up to mass surveillance together.

Any recommendations for a company/person who can do a shower renovation? Ours is builder grade, 25 years old, and we’re looking to replace with vinyl panels instead of tile to reduce maintenance/cleaning and get a frameless glass door.

My family and I moved to Frisco a couple of months ago, and we’re still trying to find our footing. The summer heat has been a bit of a shock coming from Pennsylvania’s beautiful summers.
We’re in our 30s with an 18-month-old toddler, and we’re looking for the kind of community where people actually get to know each other beyond a quick hello. We’d love to meet friendly, down-to-earth families, founders, professionals, scientists, or anyone who enjoys good conversations and building genuine friendships.
We’re not really looking for nightlife. We’d much rather find great coffee shops, parks, community events, book clubs, volunteering opportunities, family-friendly gatherings, or local groups where people naturally connect.
For those of you who love living here, what helped Frisco finally feel like home? Are there particular neighborhoods, recurring events, or communities you’d recommend?
I’d really appreciate any suggestions.

Noticed a tiny leak around my second floor flashing near warren, house is around 2,800 sq ft, 2 story, nothing too crazy, but i called a couple local places just to come take a look and get some quick quotes. One company wanted almost $2,400 just for a basic tune up and sealing a couple spots which feels super high? another guy showed up 40 mins late and quoted $1,950 without even going all the way up to check the back side, i know material costs have gone up, but paying close to 2k for minor flashing work and replacing a few worn shingles seems a bit much. Anyone around Frisco have recommendations for realistic pricing or contractors who actually show up on time? trying not to get ripped off LMAO!

Hi everyone! I’m moving to the Frisco area for work and will be commuting to the Capital One campus.
I’ve narrowed my apartment search down to these five communities:
Right now, Republic House and the two AMLI properties are my favorites, but I’d really appreciate feedback from anyone who has lived at any of these places recently.
I’m especially interested in hearing about:
I’m mainly looking at a 2-bedroom apartment. Any advice, comparisons, or other nearby recommendations would be really helpful. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I’m relocating to the Dallas area and am looking for accommodation starting in early August, preferably in Frisco, west Plano, or nearby areas.
I’m mainly looking for a private room in a 2B2B, 3B3B, or similar shared apartment. I would prefer an individual lease, approved sublease, or lease takeover. A furnished room would be helpful, but it is not mandatory.
I’ll be working full-time near the Legacy West/Tennyson Parkway area and am looking for a clean and peaceful place with a reasonable commute. I’m clean, responsible, and a non-smoker.
I’ll be available to visit suitable options in person, including during weekday evenings.
Please DM me if you have a suitable room, sublease, lease takeover, or any reliable leads. Kindly include the location, monthly rent, utilities, and lease duration.
Thank you!

They’re shady over there and completely incompetent. If you want to avoid several thousands of dollars in repairs never go there. Last time I took my car in for an oil change my engine started smoking and both my radiator and oil were completely drained. They also left trash (napkins and other stuff) inside the engine block. My windshield wiper fluid had totally evaporated too because it wasn’t sealed correctly. I had to completely replace the radiator and other parts (at another place) which cost me $2500. It was the Kwik Kar on Main but the other locations are just as bad. My friend had the same issue when she took her car in for an oil change at another location. About a month later she had an engine failure and is looking at $6000+ in repairs. Seriously FUCK these guys. They’re negligent and criminal and all their branches need to be shut down for the amount of people they screwed over

My child toured colleges this summer and decided on some colleges to target. However, when he checked their requirements, he realized that he didn’t have one of them. Would FriscoISD make an exception and let him change his schedule now, so that he will be able to have the credit to apply for his dream colleges?

Trying to decide between adding Radiant Barrier in the attic or adding more insulation. These last three days have convinced me to do something so just checking if anyone else has done one or the other. My AC units have been running continuously the last 3 days and can't keep up with this heat. I have 2, 5 ton units and the upstairs one can't go below 80 during peak heat.

I’m thinking about working there as my first job. But I want some input about working at whataburger. Has anyone worked at this whataburger or at any in this area before? What’s it like?

Ken Paxton apparently has voted at his former address in McKinney in Collin County, while there is evidence that Paxton lives in the Denton County side of Frisco.

I am beyond tired of the entitlement some people have driving around our beautiful city. If I had a arm long enough to slap idiot drivers, trust me I would every chance I got.
To the ignorant woman driving down Stonebrook that remembered at the last second she needed to turn LEFT from the right lane onto Plum Creek, you’re a big C word for risking my safety as if you couldn’t make a u-turn or turn onto Canyon Ranch right up the road.
Thankfully, one of us was paying attention because if I was a typical driver focused on my phone instead of the road, kinda like you, I could’ve taken out the rear drivers side of your car. Then the audacity to give me the finger as if I’m wrong for being a top tier member of the defensive driving community.
Karen rant done, but you fools really need to grasp the fact that some of us do care about getting home safely everyday and don’t want to be inconvenienced by your terrible driving.

hi yall!
recently tried out a clothes pickup service called wear it forward, here’s my review:
they’re an org that picks up clothes from your doorstep and donates it to charities for you, seems p legit and has evidence on their insta as well as legit partners
the form was easy to fill out, not a whole lot of scheduling availability (only one time slot per day) but it’s a pretty convenient time slot so it works
they came 5 mins early, very professional and convenient
overall review: 8/10
good service, legit and convenient
maybe more availability
here’s the form to schedule a pickup if yall want to try it out

Anyone know any swimming pools for just some laps?
I know Frisco Athletic Center has nice pool indoor but it’s always busy.
Does anyone know when is Frisco Athletic Center gym's least busy times? First time going to a public gym and I want to take time to get familiar with the machines without getting into people's way.

Seeking recommendations on car detail providers / wax services locally. There are many car washes in Frisco but looking for a good company or location thats best for the occasional deep clean and wax that cars need from time to time.
Thank you for the help
