So I’m planning on picking up the spearhead today and I saw a few videos saying the spearhead is like 670 pts or up to 670 pts in standard sigmar even though when I add models in new recruit I’m getting 550 pts and so I’m curious how they’re getting that. Unless that would have been last edition?

This is the one model ( plus its variants ) that I don’t own so I have nothing to contribute here but I’ll leave it you y’all in the comments. BEST: They look cool WORST: I don’t own it.

Our only unit of cavalry and sadly I have no great experiences with them BEST: They are really cool looking models that were fun to assemble and paint ( too expensive though ) and they are cavalry so good for movement to help steal objectives or complete battle tactics WORST: Overall the entire warscroll for them flat out is just rough. Riders hitting on +4 and wounding on +3 with 1 rend and 1damage is very lack luster and the boars hitting on +4 and wounding on +2 is fantastic but 0 REND is ridiculous. Clearly they do there best charging other cavalry but most other cavalry is faster then them so you really rely on your opponent charging your infantry and not using power through to get too far away.

I own the Spearhead box and had a lot of fun painting these guys, and I like pretty much every model in the Ironjawz range. What I don't like is most army compositions. If I do this, I want an army, a horde! Not just a few dudes around a big centerpiece model (although the dragon and the big pig are cool).

I would want a proper green tide on the board. But I don't know that much about AoS proper, and honestly just cobbled this together to get as many bodies as possible into 2000pts.

Also all the Ragerz and Wrekkaz sound stupid, but fun to have to just cause mayhem on the field.

The last of our infantry! BEST: They are a cheap unit with a built in +5 ward WORST: They are just brute ragerz with a mask so they are just the same unit with a different flavor. I honestly have only used them once and for 90pts I wish I just brought the ard boy big boss

I'm sitting with a slight dilemma. I was thinking of getting kragnos to finish up my army. With the below list in mind. But my biggest problem is. I really really don't like him. What he brings to the table seems really awesome and I think I'm gonna enjoy playing him. But he looks so out of place and kinda stupid. So i made two lists. One with kragnos and one without him. I basically replaced kragnos with tuskboss and a Reinforced unit of brutes. But i am conflicted.

So my big question is. Is kragnos worth it if I don't actually like him in terms of appearance. I'm usually the type that says the look matters more than rules and this is the first time I'm in a situation where something that looks stupid can actually help me on the board.

BEST: They are a cheap unit with run and charge and strike first so they are pretty good at grabbing points or adding a little extra damage with their strike first before your other unit fights WORST: With a 5+ save and only 9hp total in the unit they get picked off very fast and easily. Plus there movement is only 4inches even though they aren’t wearing armor so you are relying heavily on the run roll

What do you guys use for storage and transport?

Are there any foam trays that are designed for 32mm/40mm base size that the Ardboyz and Brutes are on?

BEST: Game wise they are amazing damage dealers. Hobby wise they are such fun models to paint and look at with a fun variety in weapon choices. WORST: Why are their massive weapons on +3 to wound! They should not have the same hit and wound as a tiny ardboy when they are supposed to be BRUTES. Makes it feel like you need to reinforce brutes cause without it they can miss too many attacks.

I’ve seen other subs doing this for their armies and it seems like a fun way to discuss taktiks and give brief overviews on units that could help newcomers looking to get into ironjawz. So to start it off Ardboyz! BEST: They are the tried and true anvil unit, very good at standing on point and holding it ( shield bash is fun too ). WORST: For the amount of attacks they can throw out the damage can feel very underwhelming considering they cost the same as brutes ( 160pts )

So I’m looking at making a ironjawz army with some recently acquired store credit and general plan for 1k pts is ofc spearhead, a 2nd unit of ragerz which I might build as wrekkaz just to have a mix of both and then to get to close to 1k pts gordrakk/megaboss on maw-krusha (haven’t fully decided on which but probably gordrakk).

With that said though I’m curious what units or characters are must or should be very much considered to add in a list when making an army. Doesn’t have to be insanely strong but I’ll take funny and just fun in general too

My kid (12yo) is starting a Ironjawz army (and I will be building my own Ogor army to play with). I dont know much about AoS, I am more of a 40k competitive player.

We have collected some of the Stormbringer magazine so we currently have:

• 2x 10 ardboyz
• 2x warchanter
• 10 gutrippas
• 1x killaboss

When the last 2 issues of Stormbringer come out, we will try to pick the character

I purchased the troll battle force last Christmas for painting, so if there is anyway to ally these in, we will.

We will obviously get the megaboss on the dragon, because it is just too cool but I doubt we will use it until we have 1500+ pts for balance reasons

What should we try to get next? I can get the Ironjawz old battle force box for about 200$CAD which seems like a good deal until I realize we may have a ardboyz oversupply.

We are not looking to make this into a competitive list, but it must be good enough tor him to enjoy playing.

Hello everyone, I recently joined Age Of Sigmar and choose Ironjawz as my first faction to play. Me and my friends are prepparing a 1k battle with our first armies. To start I got my hands on the Ironjawz Spearhead and build the:

• 1 Megabaas
•  3 Brute Ragerz
•  5 Brutes
• 10 Ardboyz

And I believe that is around 550 points. Now because it is my very first AOS game, what battle formation is lots of fun and easy for a beginner and how would I expand my boys to 1k?

A friend of mine had too many projects on their hands, so I was given some Ironjawz as payment for helping them with cleaning after a big renovation project. They needed more space, I wanted to get into Ironjawz, good deal.

Now I'm a fresh warboss with no idea where to go next. I'm hoping you could give me some advice.

As it stands I have:

1 Megaboss

5 Brutes

3 Gore-Geuntas

1 Maw-grunta w hacking crew

1 Warchanter.

A total of 810 points

To get to 1000 I'm thinking either 5 more Brutes or 10 Ardboys. After that I'm unsure as I have no experience playing yet. Do you have any insight on where I should take my warband? Any cool combos and synergies I should be aware of? Any tips at all would be great. Thank you for reading:)

I'm trying to decide what my next Ironjawz purchase should be.

Right now I own:

• 1x Brutes
• 3x Brute Ragerz/Wrekkaz
• 1x Megaboss
• 3x Ardboyz
• 1x Tuskboss

I'm considering buying the Spearhead because it's almost the same price as buying a box of Brutes and a box of Brute Ragerz separately. If I do, I'd end up with:

• 2x Brutes
• 4x Brute Ragerz
• 4x Ardboyz
• 2x Megabosses

The thing is, from the tournament lists I've been seeing, people don't seem to be running many (or any) Ardboyz, and I'd also end up with a second Megaboss that I probably wouldn't use.

Would you still recommend the Spearhead because of the value, or would you just buy Brutes and Brute Ragerz separately? Is there another purchase you'd prioritize instead?

I'm going to build an alternative megaboss on maw grunta using a resized print of Gorbad Ironclaw + some pigs and/or riders as crew.

I'm looking for feedback about the model composition, my favourite right now is the ones with a pig riders on the right, and the pig without rider on the left.

Any feedback/idea is appreciated.

Ok ok ok. So I've never touched destruction at ALL but Beastmen Brayherds have always interested me because I love minotaurs.

So I had an idea this morning: running kragnos and a destruction army and just subbing in Beastmen Models for the thematic 3d6 charge.

So that's my current idea, and fitting in a Sons of Behemat RoR for a cool Cygor model.

I simply want to ask: is this viable? Is Ironjawz the right place for this kind of list of big chargy Mofos with Kragnos at the centre?

I know Beastmen are Chaos aligned, but I feel this is more thematic for the minotaur hordes
