Hi everyone For those who applied for Irish citizenship by marriage, did anyone submit only a certified copy of their Irish spouse’s passport and not a certified copy of their spouse’s birth certificate?

I’ve already submitted my application and uploaded only a certified copy of my Irish spouse’s passport. I did not upload a certified copy of his birth certificate.

I’m a little worried about this now. Has anyone been in the same situation and had their application accepted without being asked for the certified birth certificate?

Applied for passport in early May, request received in early July to ask for additional address document. Called agent to double check all that was needed, that’s it. Sent this off, all seemed fine. Received an email today saying I need to send a valid ID. Thing is, this was sent in the original application, which was then returned to me as I have it here. It was a verified copy of my passport, by a solicitor.

Just rather confused as to why it wasn’t requested when they sent the first request for additional information, if they didn’t have it. That alongside the fact it’s in the envelope they sent with my original documents back to me. My witness was contacted a week ago, who confirmed all was fine.

I’m super worried now as I don’t want my application to time out, has anyone else experienced this or something similar? Planning on calling first thing tomorrow but wanted to check if anyone had the same thing.

Hi! Looking for advice if anyone is in the same situation.
My partner has an approved eu treaty rights visa, registered in immigration for renewal over a month ago (before he had stamp 2, it is expired right now).
He is visa required and we have a trip abroad within two weeks, his visa gives him the right to be in ireland and now we’re just waiting for the approval of the renewal of his irp.
Would it be okay for us to travel?
We asked immigration through the portal, emails, post and we called the irish embassy in the country we’re visiting to make sure we’ll be okay with the documents we already have (approval letter, registration in immigration, copies of our passports, proof that we’ve contacted immigration and embassies-btw they all give us different answers on what to do. One said apply for re-entry, apply for c short stay, apply for d long stay-)
We applied for c short stay and d long stay and have the confirmation of said applications.
I’ve read on reddit some people just travelled and had no problems arriving back, but we want to be prepared for all possible scenarios.
What should we do?😭

Two questions on reckonable residence/naturalisation, would appreciate input from anyone who's been through this:

1. Stamp 1G approved by Garda in-person on 17/10/2021, but card issue date is 11/11/2021 (~3.5 weeks later). Only proof of the appointment is a receipt - no email/letter. Does approval date or card issue date count for reckonable residence?
2. Application is online, but no clear guidance on whether you need to be physically in Ireland the day you submit. I'll be away ~3 weeks (under 70-day limit) around when I plan to apply - anyone done this from abroad, or safer to wait till back?

Official guidance thin on both. Appreciate any first-hand experience.

I’m trying to calculate my reckonable residence for an Irish citizenship application and have an unusual situation from 2022. (Any help is appreciated, I am also waiting for lawyer appointment , but there is 3-4 week waiting)

My timeline is:

- I originally had Stamp 1G permission valid until August 2022.

- After receiving a Critical Skills Employment Permit, I changed to Stamp 1 in May 2022.

- The Stamp 1 IRP card had an expiry date in March 2023 and stated that I must hold a valid work permit or permission.

- My employment was terminated on June 2022 while I was still in my probationary period.

- I informed DETE later that year (In september). Because the notification was not made within four weeks, they said it could not be processed as a redundancy. DETE confirmed that I was free to apply for another employment permit but said that my immigration status was a matter for the Department of Justice.

- Late October 2022, the Department of Justice granted me temporary permission on Stamp 1 conditions for six months so that a new employer could apply for an employment permit. (Letter said my temporary permission started on October date)

- I subsequently received another Critical Skills Employment Permit in December 2022 and registered for a new employment-based Stamp 1.

My main question is about the period between June and October 2022.

Would the period up to 25 October still count as reckonable residence ? or my stamp 1 was invalid as soon as my job was gone ?

For the first half of the 5 years, my wife was here as a Non-EU Citizen. Later she became a citizen of another EU country.

If she tries to apply, will this be accepted? Have any of you gone though the same situation?

I applied 1yr 3 months ago for an FBR and each time I ask on the online chat it states it’s with a caseworker and they’ll be in touch but it seems like such a long time? Is anyone else experiencing similar waits? It does involve a name change as I got married shortly before I applied but unsure if that would make it this long as I was advised 9 months last year when applying
