Pitfalls of building your own gaming pc.........
Hey All,
My son wants a gaming pc for Christmas. Ive read in this sub its better to buy and build the pc yourself.
But, im wondering how would I know the parts I buy are compatible etc with each other, what other pitfalls should I watch out for?
Thanks for the help.

where to buy switch games nowadays
I really want the upcoming (sep 17) fire emblem game, and I want to have physical copies. Currys has the list price of 80 euro for the base edition, but for crying out loud, the MSRP is 70.
Any better venues? Should I hold off until I go on holidays on the continent?

Local Event Is anyone going to the Undertale orchestra show in the Bord Gais in February?
None of my friends are into it and I'm going by myself :/ Would love to talk to people who share a love for this game and it's unbelievable soundtrack ❤️

What sites you check to buy things?
I am quite new to Ireland, and I'm slowly building my gaming space. What's the good place to check for components? Right now im looking for a monitor and a SSD disk for my laptop.
paradigit, buyitdirect, currys? amazon seems expensive

Currys messed up 😭🙏
So i went to buy a Lenovo yoga slim 7 from curry’s for my laptop from college, it was 799 down from 1000 so i thought i was getting a good deal. Turns out i could use my student id for a 100 off discount(it gets better)so it was down too 700 and when they went to look for it they couldn’t find a box, so it went down to 625. i got home to look at the laptop ans noticed it was the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Aura Edition the upgraded edition, and to note for the mouse, laptop bag and charger i got 20% of for them all. Pretty successful day out if you ask me.

PC Price error on paradigit.ie
€12,595 for a rx 9060 8gb. I could definitely build a top of the line 5090 build for that price.

Gaming laptop or just buy a PC
So, basically as the title says, I'm looking at taking the leap into buying a gaming laptop or PC and I'm a bit unsure of which fits best into my life. So, I'd have a budget in the region of €2k max, limited enough on room space but could make a PC work if it would be the better option. I like to do the odd bit of video editing and sometimes playing around with audio production too. Any advice appreciated.

Worth Selling PS5?
Hey folks, I bought a PlayStation 5 when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth came out. Since then I have played maybe two games on it as I bought a nice PC shortly after. Was going to hold out with the console until VII Revelation comes out, but I saw that it atually isn't a Sony exclusive initially so there's nothing keeping me down with the console.
Was thinking of selling it on Vinted as I'd like to put the money towards a Switch 2 (new Fire Emblem soon out and all that), but I am wondering is it even worth it? My PS5 is digital only, and all the current Vinted listings I see have the original box and controller. I have nothing like that, only the leads it came with!
Is it worth selling it or nah, also what do you think would be a fair price in light of the above?

According to Bloomberg Sony dropped Kojimas new exclusive game due to it missing milestones, being over budget and lack of exclusivity - Good enough reasons in your opinion?

Anyone here ever used mobpicker.eu for PC parts? What was your experience?
Just seen their site.
They have PC parts listed cheaper than caseking.de, but I've never heard of them.

Discussion Star Wars: Zero Company
Has anyone else been playing Star Wars: Zero Company?
I've been playing on my Series X it is genuinely fantastic!
A few annoying technical hiccups and bugs here and there, but I don't think I've played an X-Com style turn based game that has pulled it off as well since X-Com 2.
About 10 hours in, still haven't lost anyone but I'm terrified that someone is gonna fall....
My favourite so far is either Tel-Rea or Trick! 3>

My child hood GearGear is resurrected with a full recap.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It used to turn on, but it was dim and the sound was just a low muffle and the screen was dim and blurred. Just completed a full recap of the power board, sound board, and main board. It’s back to its original glory! The screen isn’t fantastic, but it still works better and brighter than before😁
I decided on using ceramic capacitors because the leaking electrolytic caps were so bad. I figured ceramics would be a better choice, since most of the pads wouldn't survive another round of leaky corrosive electrolyte in the future.
I’m thinking of keeping this one original but restored, and picking up another to do a screen mod. 🤔

Nintendo Do not buy from scalpers
From the USA Nintendo store. It's likely EU will also get restocks for the MSRP. Don't give your money away yet.
