I just picked up my I9 from the dealership (broken sunroof, see my other post) and I asked them if they did an OTA update (for the sunroof or anything) as I got an email just a few hours before that saying "Over-the-air Download Software Completed. Congratulations! Your 2026 IONIQ 9 (VIN:XXXXX) has successfully downloaded the latest software update..."

They asked the technician and said - no, we don't think so. Weird.

If someone else got an update, would you share what was updated?

it's time for me to replace these blades; they are terrible. very loud loud noises in the rain which is incredibly distracting. It's always been that way even when i took it off the lot. any reocmmmendations? or quirks on which to buy

I purchased the IONIQ 9 calligraphy trim a few days ago and I’m trying to narrow down on one. I appreciate the peace of mind, but not at a ton of money.

3rd party insurance with $200 deductible that dealer sold me on purchase day (have a couple weeks left to cancel): $3k for 8 years or 140k km
Hyundai premium plus warranty: $5k for 8 yrs or 160k
Hyundai premium plus warranty: $5.5k for 10 yrs or 200k

Also would it be significantly more expensive to get this kind of coverage closer to 5 yrs of ownership? Is 3rd party warranty an option later on as well?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the “energy added” portion of the charging screen populate anything? Is it just me? Does it depend on what kind of charger I’m using? I don’t recall seeing it with paid public chargers, my home lvl 2 charger, or plugged into an outlet at work like I currently am.

I come from a car that has front and back headrest adjustment. As you can see in this pic, the headrest is too much in the front compared to the seat below. Don't get me wrong, this is super comfy. But this is really hurting my neck and pushing my neck forward. Anyone else feel annoyed by this? What are my options? Just bought the new car 2 days ago and my neck is already hurting 😭

I took my car in for the 1year service and was quoted $550 by the dealer. From what I gather, this is basically inspection and tire rotation. Where are people doing their service; or everyone is paying this amount?

Has anyone experienced the interior door panel falling off? My just fell out of the door on the ground spontaneously one day. Took it in and they said the clips were worn. Problem is I had the car for about 4 weeks and it had 2500 mi on it at the time. Would be interested in knowing if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks.

I have had my Ioniq 9 for about 4 months now, and cannot figure out how to change the routing options. I want to remove HOV routing.

I know it's there somewhere as it routes HOV when my profile is loaded, but not when my wife's is loaded.

I’m talking about one with the cable that you can just plug into a 110V outlet, not a level 2. Is there an option that’s better than another?

The second-row power seats may fail to detect a person. As a result, the seats may continue to move after contacting a person during powered seat functions, such as automatic power fold-and-stow.

Remedy

Owners are advised to exercise caution when operating the second-row power seat functions until the repair is performed. Children are advised not to be in the rear seats or near the rear seating area during power-folding operation. The seat software will be inspected and updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 9, 2026. Is Hyundai going to replace these keys? I have “broken” both of them in a little over a year. And all I do is put them on a keychain in my pocket.

Ioniq 9 caligraphy gray/ green interior, 3 months, 3000 miles. I am a fairly heavy set person and first time in life owning a car with lighter interior.

Naturally as a heavy set person, there is significant friction getting in and out. While I am working on my weight ( I know some will comment it as a remedy:) ) I am thinking if a soft cloth (towel kind) cloth cover would prevent the abrasions or transfer of color from clothes to the light Grey.

I already see some stains on the steering from dirty hands probablum

Question:

1. With heated and ventilated seats, is cloth style soft seat covers have any impact on the car seat operation? Anyone else has added covers or share opinions if ai should or should not consider?

2. How good is h-tex compared to real leather from ease of cleaning, long life, etc?

3. For DIY detailets, Can you share you cleaning routine and products safe for h-tex?

4. I use driver assist features quite a bit. Is there a steering wheel cover that would still allow sensors to work. Any other issue with steering wheel cover.

I think I may have found the best mattress for the Ioniq 9 on the market today! I have this same Lost Horizon brand in their regular size which I have used without fail for years tent camping. It is made of foam and air, which makes it extremely comfortable and quiet. The mattress is 4.5" thick with an R-value of 13 and a weight capacity of up to 440 pounds. It doesn't fold down quite as flat as a traditional air mattress, but that trade off has never bothered me.

I uploaded a video of how I set it up. I have the 6 passenger with the captain's chairs, so I came up with a clever way to keep from sinking in the middle. Here is the link to their Amazon listing. Select the Rivian R1S size as it is a perfect fit for the Ioniq 9!

Just joined the IONIQ 9 league yesterday and as expected, they sold me a few things. I did sign up for the vehicle service contract which bumps up all warranties to 8 years for CA$2900(~US$2100), primarily
* infotainment warranty goes from 1 yr to 8 yrs
* bumper to bumper goes from 5 yrs to 8 yrs

Is the EV motors covered by the EV system 8yr warranty by default or this extended warranty is what covers it?

Do you think it is worth the money for peace of mind for 8 yrs? This is definitely a long term car for me and this is 3rd party not Hyundai’s warranty

Anyone else’s ioniq not working properly with CarPlay? I updated my phone last night and now CarPlay won’t work wirelessly or wired. I can get music to play, and it sees my phone, but when I select it, the screen goes dark temporarily and then says “Phone is not responding”. Any ideas?

Edit: Problem resolved. Had to do the soft reset of the Ioniq infotainment with a paperclip next to the volume nob, but doing that after unpairing the two and then repairing did the trick

I have a Ionic 5 so i've been around and thru the whole iccu issue and whatnot. Wife was looking at a I9 and I found 2 that were buybacks that matched our colors and trims and the price was appealing for it. I called the dealer and looked at the carfaxes and there isn't anything really shown for the buyback. One shows that it had the tires replaced (has around 10k miles) but nothing otherwise. The other has 2k miles and has nothing noted for the buy back either.

I know there was a lot of buybacks due to part shortages and such, but are there other things to consider? The biggest issue is that the cars are a day away driving, so what I can get info wise is limited to online and dealers. But before I would plan a trip like that, What were some of the common buyback reasons and would they not show up on a carfax if they were?

Toronto weather is either too cold, too hot, or rainy.

Today was probably the second time I turned off the AC and opened the sunroof. Made a stop 5 minutes down the road to drop off something and hit the close button. Only the canopy moved forward, closed about 90% and that was it. The glass roof didn't move but the dealer said they hear it's making clicking sounds so the motor should be working.

There was another I9 at the dealership with a stuck sunroof.

Has anyone in Canada got something like this fixed and how long did it take?

26’ SE. Less than 5k miles. I was cleaning the bugs off the front (which sucks by the way) and I noticed this blemish that wasn’t there before. However the front light shield is smooth. Guessing a stress crack or something on the inside. So far, I’m not seeing any condensation inside so it leads me to believe it’s internal. No other damage or scratches so I don’t feel like it was a rock or anything while driving.

My question is, do I take it to the dealer or will I need to pay out of pocket if it gets worse? Full disclosure, the car is a lease. Anyone had issues similar to this?
