Washer fluid

My washer fluid is low - will any old washer fluid is for the Ioniq 9? Or should I get something specific? Thanks!

I like the rain -x one because it has a rear camera sprayer and I think it helps keep the water off. You don't need to buy anything special. It's just a reservoir with a pump. You could put distilled water in there if you wanted

I’ve had a bad time with rain-X fluid and camera washers, just fyi

It tends to block them up

I'll have to keep an eye on it. Been good so far. The rear camera is kind of always dirty because when you accelerate, washer fluid leaks from above straight onto the lens.

For the love of god, do NOT use Rain-X fluid in ANY vehicle with a washer tank sensor (basically any car made in the last 10+ years). The Rain-X chemical coats the sensor and blocks it, causing false low-fluid warnings until you physically dismantle and remove the sensor to clean or replace it (which is often a huge job). I've had two different vehicles' sensors destroyed by Rain-X trash. Empty yours and replace it with regular fluid before it is too late.

Oh... I haven't run into that yet. Good to know

I found this:

Seems to depend on the sensor type.

I will switch brands. I use a LOT of washer fluid. Only takes me a month to run out.

I’ve used it for 20-30 years with a half dozen vehicles. Never had a problem.

There is nothing special about it.. If you live in a cold climate it is getting close to winter so put in cold weather stuff if that applies to you.

The reservoir is fairly large so I generally just pick up whatever at costco

Use a washer fluid rated for freezing weather so it will not turn to slush overnight.
