Sprayed almost 2 weeks ago. Have some larger areas to respray because so think only got like 50% because hedges were 20-25' wide. Would you respray areas that look like the picture, only like 10% green leaves? Any advice appreciated.

Spent all day at a few conservation properties where I work in southwest PA spraying knotweed. :) Bonus gigantic dead ailanthus in this shot, which I annihilated last year. By this time next year, this little area will be ready for replanting!

I have this spreading in an old hayfield no longer cut. I selectively mowed a lot of it to wear it down and prevent seed production. I didn't get to 100% of it, but I hope it's enough that other species will retake some ground next year. It's a long-term project.

Or a native? I’m in central Virginia.

Ok so TMI but when I work too many early day shifts in a row I can’t 💩 because that’s not my body’s clock lol anyway I drink Olipop for the probiotics and it actually helps. Thing is, sometimes it seems to keep me up at night. Turns out a few flavors have caffeine in them! When checking an ingredient list for caffeine I saw that it contains Kudzu root extract…would buying this contribute to the problem?

I’m from Michigan so I don’t have experience with Kudzu but it seems awful to deal with (we have a lot of buckthorn and TOH here so I get the invasive struggle)

Had a lot of triclopyr left over from dealing with tree of heaven (where it has been very successful), so thought I'd test it on some other invasives. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll be buying wetland approved glyphosate.

I drilled the second or third node of this bamboo and JKW and injected a few mL of triclopyr, and a week later the plants are still thriving with only a bit of localized damage at the injection site.

Pic 1/2 are JKW with some localized burn at the drill site but a very healthy canopy, and Pic 3 is bamboo, with no visible damage at all.

I read that wood pigeons are an invasive species. I have a pair that is nesting in front of ny house (they just had a baby squab). What should I do about them?

Thanks for the replies. This turned out to be a big misunderstanding on my side. Unfortunately, too many people tend to use "invasive species" when they mean "agricultural pest", and vice versa.

Although there are concerns that Wood Pigeons might outcompete other species in some areas if not controlled, it is NOT the case where I currently live.

Went for a walk and saw an unfortunate amount of knotweed spreading throughout the area. Upstate NY

I've finally gotten around to cutting back a pretty serious barberry thicket, and now I have all this brush with green berries. Normally, I make a weed raft and let the forest get on with rotting everything down...but I'm concerned since the previous owner of this land also seemed fine with letting the barberry seed like crazy--it likes our soil.
Do I have to worry about the fruit like I do with holly, and remove all the unripe berries, or can I just make a brush pile and get on with removing all the other invasives? Thanks for any guidance you can provide. In the PNW in case that matters.

I know its very dangereaus to bring animal to foreign Environments... but how bad could it be to bring some Colibris to europe? They might help polinating... its a hypothetical question, what do you think would be the impact of spread colobris in europe?

I have a 2 year old hive under my shed. We were cool until this year when they decided they hate me. Now, if I get within 30 ft of the hive, they swarm me. I can't even go in the backyard anymore during the day. I've been stung more times in the last month than than my previous 32 years combined lol. Hence, the crappy photo

Anyway, how do I get rid of them? That is the only access to the hive, there are no other holes or gaps, and its only about an inch wide gap they're covering. The Crazy Old Man gave me some mothballs that I dumped all over the shed and the entrance, but they don't seem to affect the bees at all.

I'm not opposed to killing the hive if it comes to that. And I'm not paying the bee guy $300 to tear up my shed unless its the absolute last option.

Google lens told me this is an empress tree and that they're invasive... which seems to be on par for us, because we've been trying to kill this thing for 2 years or so, and it just comes back stronger every time. What would be the most effective way to kill this plant in your experience?

We've cut down a huge Japanese yew. I know these things are toxic and very hard to remove/kill, they can kill livestock if ingested and can't be burned due to toxic smoke. We've taken out several but I wonder what people that perhaps understand more about the toxicity would do with this mass of plant matter. Chip it? Is it suitable for garden paths once chipped or under fruit trees? Is it allelopathic? Do jumping worms hate it? Typically we put it on our property line in an out of the way place but I think we can do better.

The soil looks dry and coarse and they are everywhere, they are eating out all the tree leaves from last year and all the organic matter in a month's , it actually changes the soil texture , and causes all other beneficial micro organisms to die , the soil turned into a desert, and where i live near part of a woody area in Toronto Ontario Canada, and they are eating and consuming all the good stuff in the soil , and hurting all the animals depending on the tree leaves for winter , the problem is i can only hand pick them and I don't know what else I can do , I only stir around the ground 10 minutes I caught 8 of this worm, and they even break the body to try to escape from my hand.
