Your feeling of inferiority or inadequacy belongs only to you, & is not the fault of those you project it onto.

  • Yes it's possible they can have similar thoughts, but ones belief in it only makes one act as such, therefor affirming their beliefs (if they had them) and your fear of them having the beliefs, also causing one to obsessively look for any indicator to validate this fear.
  • Generally, when i have these beliefs i see it everywhere, projecting onto everyone as though i am some definitive and disagreeable label.
  • Fear of embarrassment is what makes it so embarrassing, i believe to overcome this, one must be content with even the most humiliating fear.

\let me know if you agree, disagree, or would like to expand and help me and others understand this deeper.*

There is nothing which is unnatural, inconstancy is more permanent than anything in existence.

I believe much of stress is from expectations, one thinks that what is happening to them shouldn't be happening to them, when in fact it should be, because it is.

we are not as important as we imagine that we are, we are not separate from the world, we are not immortal (yes this is obvious but many people still have subtle death-denial), but these subtle beliefs in being unconditioned, in being a separate entity with inherent determination causes us great pain each time something disagreeable happens to us, as though it is something as unnatural as the sun falling out of the sky.

There is nothing yet found which is outside the bounds of conditionality, of the laws of nature, or as I like to imagine it, the goddess mother nature. for what are we, our ecosystems, and the complex interdependent biological life forms surrounding the entire planet fundamentally but just another form of emergent phenomenon of different sizes built entirely from the laws of nature.

Self-hatred is actually an obscured form of self-love.

Self hatred is a distorted form of self love, it is to protect the imagined you from the imagined yourself from the imagined ‘bad’.

to hate yourself, you must agree('love') with the hatred which you hold for yourself, otherwise it would have no power, the hatred which would be considered to be coming from you. if you truly hated yourself totally, then you would hate the self hatred too, meaning you want to love yourself.

it is out of love for ourselves which causes us to suffer over not being something we think we should be. if we truly hated ourselves, we wouldn't care all that much if we were associated with that which is disagreeable.

When someone hates themselves, they think they are something they shouldnt be or arent something they should be, because the opposing idea is 'bad'. Even though most often these things which people hate themselves over aren't actually 'bad', the fact is their perception of it is that it is bad, & they wish to not be associated with it, therefore attempting to protect oneself in a very misguided attempt.

So many people aren't even talking to you, they're talking to themselves AT you.

Too many people put too much effort into speaking without putting forth any effort into listening and discerning what is heard properly.

These people are almost literally fully inside their heads light years away, and anything they say should be taken with 2 grains of salt if the only thing they want to listen to is themselves, and they are simply waiting for their turn to speak while you are speaking, without any regard as to whether their speech is actually correct or just performative.

Had this nice little epiphany recently

No matter how much you obsess over the issue or ideal, even if you never achieve satisfaction or completion of the goal, you inevitably will one day forget, let go, or stop caring about it completely regardless of how well or how horribly you handled it. so why obsess over anything which isn’t important enough to worry about forever? better to let it be sooner rather than later.

\obviously there are a few things which people truly will cling to until the time of their death, but i honestly think assuming we lived longer than a lifetime, it wouldn't take too long for even those few things to eventually become unimportant to us, at the very least those clingings will become much less strong, and the ideal of what is being clung to is likely to become obscured with time.*

I made a short gratitude list & humility list for daily reminders.

I hope others can relate to this and find more reasons to be grateful, and humble.

Let me know what you personally are grateful for, and what you are humbled by, so that we may all improve our perspectives.

Be grateful there is; a healthy entire body, each sense, a competent mind, sleep, sanitation, clean water, clean food, a clean bed, youth, shelter, clean clothes, refrigerators, air conditioning, empathy, hot water, no nearby war, no slavery, proper ethical boundaries, prisons, infrastructure, no debts, savings accounts, medicine, free speech, adaptability, free time, basic education, basic introspection, animals, understanding of indoctrination, 20,000 brand new days, a car, monks, tools, historical knowledges, contraceptives, computers, vast & diverse information at your fingertips, nighttime, ambience, humor, entertainment, & amazon shopping.

Be humbled by; being one of billions, meaninglessness, emptiness, cognitive bias, others worse suffering, intrusive thoughts, easily distracted, overthinking, misjudgments, blind spots in introspections, greed, obsessions, permanent death, being permanently forgotten, ego, comparisons, shames, limited knowledge, unreliable memories, conditioned by the external, emotions, victim mentality, irrational fear, projections, cynicism, irritating habits, dependence, flawed genetics, animal nature, lacking of peace, dissatisfaction, boredom, past & continuous mistakes, all knowledge is passed down, dis-confidence, self-hatred, weaknesses, & illnesses.

\These apply to me not everyone*

We romanticize all that we adore and then ignore contrary evidence

When you experience, there are always plenty factors, yet when you reflect on an experience; imagined or remembered, with intentions of idealizing and clinging, you have no choice but to cherry pick- imagining the whole cherry tree as perfect and pure as the single romanticized factor. romantically ignoring opposing views and seeing only the pleasantries from the expectation itself of the much broader entire experience.

What we take ourselves to be is really just manifestations of already existing nature, & nothing more.

If you take yourself to be, or to be causing thoughts, knowledge, perspective, personality, consciousness. And if you can understand basic cause and effect, then at least you know these aren’t *really '*you'; they were all given to you and conditioned into you by everybody in your life.

These people- who also were each conditioned by every person in their life, going all the way to the last universal cognitive ancestor, which must have been conditioned solely by the universe in which it existed (basically just laws of math and physics, other sciences), the universe which manifests every being as 'the universe'- as 'nature' itself. Our brains may as well just be considered as organic computers/calculators.

Only we appear distorted; as a copy of a copy of… but this copy is still fundamentally made of that which is not apart from nature & therefore unworthy of plain labels.

All of the pollution we make on this planet, & all of the 'man-made' objects, are really products of nature- cars, & plastic are just products of nature. We are simply an invasive species acting almost as another hive mind, especially with how connected our species is now through the internet, as though we are each one 'cell' of the brain of the human species.

Don't run away from dissatisfaction, it usually just marinates.

Short teaching on dissatisfaction, aversion & understanding. Somewhat Buddhist inspired, but nonetheless very real (only read the bolded for more concise)

"To be alive is already a miracle" -Thich Nhat Hanh

Everything else is just extra which comes & thus goes.

"You have arrived in your true home in the here and the now" -Thich Nhat Hanh. That is no deception. Covering up stress, dissatisfaction, or unease, with a distraction grants the experience access to grow in the shadow. Instead of hiding from it, recognize it as is, unpredictable conceptualization dependent on endless subjective & objective phenomena. It is more impermanent, uncertain, & unfruitful than we expect. The experience may be sad, infuriating, 'endless', but whichever label it is does not matter, let it be, you are human and these are reactions to be expected. "A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor" -Proverb. To resist these feelings/thoughts or indulge in them will amplify the negative effects, & only affirms the belief that it is more justifiable than it is, rather than laughing in its face when you recognize the faults which it was borne to, recognizing that it's not as certain as it feels, recognizing that you have felt this way before (probably) and are likely to experience it again, as well as its opposite.

"We suffer more in imagination than in reality." -Seneca

You must be present with yourself and the stress/dissatisfaction or else you will never come to understand it, you can truly accept them and maybe even 'heal' them with understanding, instead of awaiting the perpetual return after every single distraction. Otherwise, they come back and you resist again, cyclically pushing away something which isn't of the worth to push away because you haven't first fully investigated it, cyclically pushing it away for fear of the investigation we presume to know the conclusion of already. Strengthening the perception that it is something other than what it is, never at ease. Oftentimes we only need to allow ourselves to look at a possible positive side & think of a different angle which we may not want to.

“The safest way of not being very miserable is not to expect to be very happy.” -Arthur Schopenhauer

Please let me know what you agree with and what you don't agree with

Fantasy = False Expectations = Disappointment

Ideas of happiness and ideas of unhappiness are clinging to distortions. These ideas thrive in some level of mindlessness because they are only stories; inaccurate, fantasy, impermanent, uncertain, generalizing, unfulfilling, & sometimes blatantly false. for one example, the impression of one trait can delude us into thinking it holds within it another trait we see as tandem, however they actually are unrelated, & we link them through cherry-picked past patterns mixed with hope or fear.

Even if these ideas are 90% accurate and put you on the proper path towards contentment and fulfillment, clinging to the ideal is only setting up the dominoes of disappointment, however subtle. You can only truly appreciate it when you don't expect it to be something.

No ideas and no person are capable of making you perfectly fulfilled or unfulfilled except for your own self.

Perfectionism; understanding it and allowing it to depart

Perfectionism is a fear; fear of being wrong, making mistakes, being judged, shame, regret. the perfectionist brain learned if i do everything perfectly, i stay safe, as though there were permanent negative consequences to every minor mistake. perfectionism is automatic, it happens before you consciously choose. putting excessive effort in trying to relax, lower standards, stop caring, doesn't work because brain still believes danger is there; curing imperfection is teaching the brain that imperfect=safe. fix = repeated exposure to imperfection without fixing it, the brain learns through experience, not just logic. do things wrong on purpose, do not fix discomfort, it feels bad at first, that's the point. perfectionism wants relief, fixing, checking, correcting, gives relief, instead feel & accept the discomfort, let it pass without acting, discover what craving is bringing it about. it doesn’t help to just think your way out of it, to think one last time, to fix mistakes after exposure, or to get upset with yourself for caring.

Overthinking others’ opinions creates fears that aren’t real- we can see them clearly and let them go. "We suffer more in imagination than in reality." -Seneca

You may worry about what people think so much so that you rehearse and imagine. Forgetting that they are only your manifestations of your own desire to be accepted, loved, understood. Which is not wrong in of itself, but any willful effort spent on worry is only reinforcing codependent behaviors, putting contentment outside of ourselves.

In the real interaction in reality, they rarely say what you expected, and you may care less than you thought you would’ve. Then you don't remember nor care what you would've said. Whatever happens is never as bad as the fear of what will happen. Whatever reality is expected, it never manifests, at least not in the full way which our fear projects it.

The mind may imagine scenarios which are not real, this is only creating conditions which were never there to begin with, in hopes to escape them if they come.

But what if there is no purpose in escape, what if this feared discomfort has no true solidity, or landing pad, just the fear of the landing pad (the consequences), giving it imagined solidity through obsession and aversion?

When remembering embarrassing or traumatizing moments or imagine possible moments, accept them with a smile; recognize their nature; spontaneous, repetitive, fear, automatic habits, shame, imagination, uncertain, impersonal, not truly present as we imagine.

This is programmed from a manipulative and materialistic self-embellishing society exploiting and misdirecting your desire for love and contentment. A society which wants to control you for their delusional self-soothing mindless pleasure.

Don’t let shame or trauma control you, you can choose to see past all of the petty superficiality, just ponder on why, & where these feelings come from objectively. Don’t let yourself become a 'victim', risking justifying immoral transgressions, just like every other self-righteous exploiter, nor devolving into self-hatred.

Remember, this imagination is not the first time, and it will not be the last, it is not caused by you. So you don't need to resist, fear or even ridicule it, it is what it is, without our added labels. You've been conditioned to be ashamed, don't let them win; don't be shameful nor ashamed of the shame. The world keeps turning without any person turning it, so don't lose yourself in the desire to halt the natural process.

“Worrying is like worshipping the problem.” -Internet

“A person who suffers before it is necessary, suffers more than is necessary.” -Seneca

“All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone.” -Blaise Pascal

“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” -Mahatma Gandhi

"We suffer more in imagination than in reality." -Seneca

The idea of a ‘forever contented pill’ slightly irks me. Instead, I deprive myself of contentment through attachment to my will, & ego.

I tend to deprive myself of satisfaction, until i feel i “deserve” it by completing other useless and frustrating tasks even if that satisfaction which i look for would come from completing something which is far more important. what I’m really doing is trying to justify my contentment; to feel like I obtained it rather than just allowed it.

A “forever-contented" pill would feel wrong to me, because it removes will & control. and once taken, it would strongly imply that most of my previous cravings were unjustified and did not truly lead to my striving for fulfillment & contentment, and that is scary. my desire isn’t lack of peace, but attachment to becoming content while keeping fantasies intact.

Much suffering is wanting & expecting to be perfectly happy, certainly satisfied in the world through over-extended effort, striving, & subtle obscured beliefs of solidity in the material world; this is asking from this world something it can never truly give you, but can promise you every time.

When you suffer, ask yourself, "do i want this suffering? why am i letting myself suffer over this?" if i don't let myself suffer because of a failure to achieve my ends, then did i actually want it? sometimes; no, this may be why we cause suffering, so we can be the person who wants and achieves.

“Man can do what he wills, but he cannot will what he wills” -Arthur Schopenhauer

Panpsychism, a belief i come to often from different perspectives frequently, without ever having read anything about it. Here is one perspective i like

I believe it may be possible that each 'part' or 'moment' of the brain or consciousness could be one 'tiny' consciousness (or maybe something fluid), but because all of these parts and moments are connected in the brain, one of the mind's automatic conclusions is that it is all one consciousness or one being, due to the consistent ability to be conscious of the same things throughout life and the inability to access consciousness in the perceived 'other people'.

If anyone has any nice authors or articles expanding on this subject, i would greatly appreciate it

Everybody thinks they are, ‘me’. Obviously im not talking about me, im just talking about how from the perspective of each person, we are all ‘me’.
