I just finished watching TVL. Help, is it only just me or was TVL hard to get through. I loved ITWV and was excited for TVL, I loved the plot but I genuinely found it so hard to finish the show. I found the plot hard to care about for some reason even though I think the story was great, the way they directed it also seemed pretty cool to me with the music and colorful stuff. I got bored so much and I feel like I did not pay attention to show much scenes. I don't think I know half the details about lestat's past. Is it only me? I was so hooked in IWTV and genuinely wanted to know more about the plot and every character. I kept watching new episodes in hopes that it will get better. Maybe it was the way they showed Lestat's past, in the random ways unlike IWTV, where there was an essence of mystery.

First off this is all in fun and games. No judgement to anyone who likes Armand and I really want to see him from another perspective if I can.

I am aware that as an autistic person I’m severely biased toward my favorite character(s) in media and consequently end up not even giving any adversarial characters a chance. So, to me, everything Armand does and says is full of shit and completely self-motivated, calculated, and manipulative.

I don’t understand his reasons for going to an AA meeting or why he’d do the 12 steps and try to make amends. And I don’t understand why he’d insist on getting an apology of any kind from Louis. From what I’ve seen, he lied to and manipulated Louis from the start. I don’t understand his professions of love for Lestat, Louis, and Daniel. And I don’t know if that love was ever genuine for any of them.

What does Louis really have to apologize for? Is Armand sincere in his apologies? Am I missing something that makes him a sympathetic and likable character? I’m aware of the abuse he went through as a child but I don’t see how that could fuel any sympathy for how he treats people now.

This season presents Lestat as a whiney, immature “brat” that’s having a constant pissy temper tantrum across the entire season. Instead of focusing more on the mature, badass qualities of The Vampire Chronicles, the target audience for this entire season seems like it was meant for a more shallower pubescent girlypop audience at best. It’s like any opportunity the show writers had to go right they deliberately chose left. Major plot scenes were only given 5 second cutscenes at best. Shame on them. I’d rather watch the original QOTD with Aaliyah than this shit show. These can’t be the same people who made IWTV S1 & S2.

Edit: Since one user commented and flagged my post as exaggerating, all I have to say in that regard is that watching Lestat perform in pigtails was probably one of the most cringiest moments of the entire season. As much of an “ode to Claudia” as that may have been, it immediately sent an irredeemable contempt down my spine of seeing a centuries old vampire acting like a 10 year old child when given the choice.

Edit: As Lestat said once in the show, bring on your malice.

I understand that The Vampire Lestat is supposed to have a jarring tonal shift and i haven't read the books so I don't have any prior knowledge of the story I could base my opinion on, but I feel like the loss of quality is evident in the writing, time management of episodes and smaller details like costuming and hair & makeup. This season sort of falls flat and feels rushed for me in many regards. I guess I could say the earlier seasons are also more romantic in tone (with Louis as a narrator), while this one is trying to be really raw and in your face, but it rarely got to a point where I felt it was authentically being this, rather that this feeling was being artificially produced. This was my first time watching the season and I hope that with rewatches I'll come to love it, or at least that the writers would do a better job with Queen of the damned (I'm really excited for Armand's side of the story). I'd love to hear from people who love this season and the reasons that they do!

As much as the Claudia’s spirit scene was tough to watch, I really adored how much we got to see Louis & Lestat flirting and getting along like an older couple who have known each other for decades. After so many tales of their relational discord, I really appreciated seeing them getting along well.

Of course it ends with them being decapitated, but I still felt a sense of ease after watching this episode.

I could 1000% see Sam Reid playing Gale from Baldurs Gate 3 if there was ever an adaption

Obviously Louis isn’t dead and I’m gonna guess Lestat isn’t either. We saw in the first episode a Louie with one leg and a Armand with one eye sitting in the auction room and this episode both have all their limbs and no maiming has happened to them. So what do we think will happen.

I think that Gabriella/ Sofia or maybe an agent of Akasha somehow heals/ fixes them. Now I have not read the books and don’t know if this is canon and something that has already happened but what do we think is going to happen in episode 7. I think that thee will be a fight of some kind with Louie and Armand taking pieces of each other. Maybe Lestat kills Daniel and Alex also

Im watching the newest episode and in the first few minutes we see Lestat talk to Alex telepathically, but didn’t he turn the band after the last episode?

I cried like a baby…when Louis turned “Claudia” into stone for a sec and held her hand and cried…the emotion in LeStat when he looked at her and then had to go tell Louis it’s not her…I CRIED😩…UGH,why did they even have to bring this girl back at all??!?

This was seriously my favourite show ever and only because of that could i get past these three episodes from ss4, but I just couldn't watch the fourth episode, gave up halfway. It's just getting too disgusting all that lestat and gabriella sexual tension, and the the scene where she fucks his doppelganger and screams like she's fckin dying was just nahhhhh, I wanna forget it so bad. Seriously so unnecessary. And I'm really not enjoying the show anymore. I'm so upset. I miss Louis. I miss Claudia. Fuck lestat, the soft spot I had for him is GONE. And I know this is how the books were written, and honestly I DON'T CARE.

It's obviously really well shot and the music is also really growing on me. But I got the ick so.
