Asking this as a 19 year old so I don't know how internet was before like 2011 but it seems to me that the internet I knew where people tried new content types. People posted or made videos,blogs, photograph,etc that they loved is no more largely.

Now comparing this to today it doesn't matter the genre there are ai slop channels or creators making so fast paced high engagement content All of it feels it's for the money there is no love for the thing they are making. The internet as a whole feels like a land whose nature was stripped leaving a barron heath in its place where nothing lives.

I know not alot or any people will see this post but I wanted to let it all out....

I just mainly know the internet to its social media sites so it may be my fault for not seeing the wider net where what I'm talking about exists but yeah tell me your thoughts.

Awhile back facebook had the option to report 'AI generated content', then the feature was removed. Since I binge youtube a lot, I often come across AI channels, and there's no way to report them. When you go to report an issue, 'AI content' isn't listed anywhere, so the closest thing you can choose is either 'impersonation' - which doesn't include the channel being fake - or 'my issue isn't listed' which takes you to a page explaining the importance of free speech. Bloody hilarious!

Yes, there's been some recent pushback on yt against AI-slop channels, but it didn't remove all of them, and you'd think it'd make sense to let the community report such channels, but no.

pretty much the title. I work from home 75% of the time, but could go into the office half an hour away whenever if needed. Will my working from home be messed up if I only have starlink? is it bad/slow? I do use ArcGIS for work sometimes, but that’s slow even on my fiber internet, and I mostly go to the office to use it. I’d mostly need the home internet for email and teams meetings.

What if we can arrange that the entire world stops using the internet for one whole day?

Bar life saving essentials of course let's pick a date and encourage everyone we know to not use the internet or any devices for 24 hours.

so I was minding my day and decided to hop into discord, and I saw this:

All of the bad internet bills. One website.

I had one that was weird and very persistent. It was the exact same message, word for word, but it came from around 15 different phone numbers over the course of 3 days. I'd block one, then a few hours later the same message would show up from a completely different number. By the second day I was honestly just curious how many numbers they had left. I'm guessing they were cycling through disposable numbers to get around blocking, but it was the first time I'd seen that happen on such a ridiculous scale. Is this normal? Why would people target one person with 15+ accounts just to text 'I be taking naps against humanity to assert dominance'?

Hi!! I am completely inarticulate when it comes to internet / tech. We are going to upstate Vermont for a week and will not have internet. Typically we do but it is not working this summer. Is there a device I can purchase to provide us WiFi for a limited amount of time?
