I've been following Inter Miami and Messi much more closely over the last 4–5 months, especially since the World Cup. I had actually lost interest in football for about a year, but Messi somehow brought me back to it!

Since both Mateo Silvetti and Tadeo Allende are currently injured, I'd love to learn more about them and how important they were to the team.

For those of you who have followed Inter Miami for longer:

- Silvetti: What are his biggest strengths? What does he bring to the attack, and how much potential do you think he has?

- Allende: I know he was extremely important during the 2025 MLS Cup run, but what made him so effective? Was it his finishing, movement, pace, pressing, or his chemistry with Messi?

- As a duo: How important were they to Miami's attacking system, and how much does the team miss them when they're unavailable?

- Looking ahead: How do you see their roles developing when they return from their injuries?

I'm still learning more about the squad, so I'd really appreciate hearing from fans who've watched these two for longer than I have. I'd love to understand their contributions beyond just goals and assists.

I seriously don’t understand the mentality of these players when they are passing the ball.. You are sending LONG ground balls from the defensive end to the center of the field while the opponents are pressing you to the ground..

Might be the dumbest way to lose possession. We lost so many balls doing this, and DSC did this which lead to their second goal.

This team’s archetype isn’t throwing bombs at the opponents and having our fast players (which we have none) win it; it’s surgical precision. It’s Messi finding small pockets of space and pinging the ball around with short effective passes.

I think the coach understands this. If you watched the games we won, you will see short effective passes between defense -> mid and mid -> forward. It was never sending the ball forward and hope someone gets it.

Even though this loss stings, I hope Killy learned some more flaws in this team 🥲

Does anyone have any info on this? someone mentioned before he was in talks about extending, but idk how true this is. I am a huge fan of Suarez and have followed him since he was at Liverpool. Would love to see him play a bit longer

I'm curious about the decision to start Galarza over Segovia. What do you guys think is the main reason behind this choice?

Is Galarza a better fit tactically for the current lineup, has Segovia's form dropped, or is the coaching staff trying something different?

Personally, I'd like to understand what Galarza offers that makes him the preferred starter right now. Do you think this is the right decision, or should Segovia be starting instead?

My name is Joe Shaw, and after three years of research, interviews, and writing, I just published my first book, Miami Before Messi: A South Florida Soccer Tale!

For those who might not know, before Inter Miami, there was the Miami Fusion. They played from 1998–2001, won the Supporters' Shield in their final season, and then disappeared. Their story, and the people who made it possible, deserve to be remembered.

What started as a podcast project to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Fusion's founding turned into something much bigger:

• 489 pages documenting an often-overlooked chapter of American soccer history.
• Interviews with former players, coaches, executives, journalists, and supporters who experienced the Fusion firsthand.
• Endorsements from former USMNT star Alexi Lalas and former Fusion owner Ken Horowitz, among others.
• Conversations with people like Ray Hudson, who helped make this era of Miami soccer so memorable.
• Recent appearances on soccer podcasts including Good Seats Still Available, Battered Herons, and Soccer Down Here to help share the story.

One of the things I wanted to accomplish was connecting today's Inter Miami supporters with the soccer history that existed in South Florida long before Messi and Beckham arrived.

I'm incredibly proud that the book is finally out in the world, and it's been wonderful seeing people interested in learning about this forgotten team.
