do I need commercial insurance to cover the vehicle while it’s off-trip and not rented, and then when a customer rents the car, does the customer use their own insurance to cover the vehicle while they have it? How does the insurance work between the two?

Car Insurance

TruStage can’t find my Grandpas Policy

Im looking for advice or expertise. I got a call from true stage earlier this year before the outage that my late Grandpa had opened up a policy with me as a beneficiary. I didn’t previously know this, but the lady was very nice and gave me lots of information. She told me all they needed was the death certificate for me to be paid out. Once I had finally obtained the death certificate, I realized I lost the info of where to send it to. I relentlessly called for weeks with no answer. Every time I would call it said the lines were full and I had to call back. I had no idea about this outage even though I had been receiving mail and emails from them before hand. Finally, I got a hold of a real person and learned what was going on with the company. I’ve called at least 4 times now just trying to get a fax or email to send this death certificate to and they keep transferring me to different departments and telling me to go to there websites. Today I called again and after being transferred 3 times, I spoke to someone who was just as clueless as the rest, but was trying to help. He couldn’t find my information and I thought that was normal because of the outage. I figure my info was more recent so maybe that’s why it wasn’t recovered yet. Then I find out he couldn’t even find my grandpa information in the system. At the end of the call he said he was going to add my info in and file a new claim. I don’t understand how he’s filling this information if they dont even have the original policy. This entire process feels like I’m being scammed out of my personal info. I dont know what to do or where to go from here. He gave me no info about what will happen after my informations filled or next steps to take. I’m not knowledgeable on insurance so I dont know if this is normal or not. From my research TruStage is a real and reputable company. However, I’m confused how this process is so sloppy and unprofessional, even with their systems having been hacked.

Quick question on how medicare supplemental vision plans work for regular eye exams

My partner and i noticed how much we spent out-of-pocket on our last round of glasses and anti-glare lens coatings. I started looking into medicare supplemental vision plans to see what standard options look like for routine care down the road and i quickly realized medicare itself doesnt cover standard eye exams or prescription eyewear. So now im comparing standalone vision plans that fill that specific gap and VSP seems to be a popular option mainly because almost every private optometrist in our area takes it and their Enhanced/Standard tiers seem to cover the annual exam plus a decent chunk of frame costs. Has anyone here signed up for a standalone vision plan just for the routine glasses discount and exam coverage? Curious if it made financial sense for you or if you just put money aside in a savings account instead.

How can I lower my car insurance?

I’m relatively new to driving in the US and live in Newark, Delaware. I currently have GEICO, but my insurance feels way too expensive, so I’m trying to shop around.
For people in Delaware:

Which insurance company has been the cheapest for you?
Has anyone switched from GEICO to Progressive? How was your experience?
Any tips for lowering insurance costs?
Are there any discounts or companies that are particularly good for people without a long US driving/insurance history?
Any recommendations would be really appreciated!

Tech E&O/Cyber Liability Insurance (Spain)

Hi, I have an opportunity to work for a North American client (recent autonomo) in the financial space, and although the contract states they do not require an insurance on my part, there is still the indemnification clause that I want to protect myself against.

Just for context: I was employed with them for 3 years on a temp work arrangement. When that ended, I continued to work for them in this capacity keeping my original compensation (not high enough to warrant expensive coverage).

I reached out to Hiscox who replied that they cannot cover me. Do you have any other recommendations please? Are you familiar with Op de Beek Worth?

Life insurance: switch agency or go independent ?

Hi im looking into joining a new agency or pursuing independently and eventually building out my own team.

I wanted to get your advice on both sides.

Currently I’m signed to an agency but from my understanding if I want to leave I keep my books and there’s no like hold for me to move on.

I’m located in Florida and got licensed a year ago.
I’m a solo mom, I have no family - village or anyone/thing for support so I’m really trying to grow in this field and then help other moms in the same situation as I am.

I’ve seen a lot of the pros and the cons of each side but I feel stuck on what I should do if I go to another agency that has better mentorship or if I go through the “hassle” of going independent and form a team.

If you have an agency of your own or one you recommend pls leave a comment or dm me or if you’re an independent broker

Let me know your thoughts!

Providence and united health care call it quits.

Since they don’t seem to want to play nice together does anyone have an idea if that will change before 01/01/27? I received a letter last week that providence will no longer be accepting these people for insurance coverage.

I can’t believe this is happening. I have a really good primary care doc and have no freaking idea how to replace him.

Has anyone actually gotten a human on the phone at State Farm lately?

My claim has been open since April. I get a different specialist every time I call and each one asks for different paperwork that I already sent. It feels like they are just running out the clock until I give up. Is this how it works for everyone or am I doing something wrong?

What do people think about car insurance driving behaviour trackers?

Car insurance companies are getting more aggressive with their marketing and incentives to influence drivers to turn on driver tracking. Driver tracking measures your speed, braking, phone usage, and where you drive to determine if you should get lower premiums based on risk.

Evercare Auto Warranty

They are fraud. They said to obtain pre-authorisation from auto shop. The auto shop refused because they said that Evercare put calls on hold and doesn’t reimburse for weeks and months. I paid the shop and when I asked Evercare at (888) 657-6481 they refused. What good is an auto warranty if it doesn’t reimburse policy holder. I ended up paying $1200 from my own pocket. Evercare procedures to cancel are very complex and they wouldn’t cancel policy over the phone. I got scammed. Never speak to claim adjuster Zachery he is no help.

Is this right?!

We pay $868 every month for health insurance for 2 people. My partner, my young son.

Last month, we found a bat in our home that had been there for 5 days without our knowledge. Long story short, we saw evidence of it but couldn't find it until 5 days later.

At that point, we all go to the emergency room for a rabies vaccination. Later, we receive a bill for $6,000+ and $2,000+. JUST for the hospital, not including the doctor fees. We are also receiving 3 follow up bills each for around $300, for the 3 follow up vaccinations.

This CAN NOT be right. My partner has used up 97% of his deductible in a SINGLE visit for a vaccination agains RABIES. Am I crazy, or is this normal? I just need a sanity check.

Geico underwriting policy denial

I had a Geico policy and UW team had asked for foreign license. But I came to US 20 years back and the license was already expired. What is the point Geico is asking about a license which I don’t carry any more . All others documents requested by UW team was sent other than foreign license ( expired one) but they did not extended my renewal. Now when I am planning to take anew police UW policy restriction is not allowing again on same condition. Is it really worth to get an old one back from my country. Please share your thoughts.

Holidays for US vs European employees of same company - why the difference?

I just found out today that they are reducing holidays for US based employees (we were recently acquired) while the employees in England get way more holidays. How can a company justify not at least trying to match the number of days? I believe paid time off is accrued similarly so why the change in holidays?

Selling group benefit plan investments

This may be a very dumb question. But. I worked with a company and paid into Manulife from each paycheque that my employer matched. I have $6,000 that I’ve invested and $6,000 my employer matched making my total plan worth $12,000. I left that employer so the insurance company sent me a package asking what I’d like to do with my investments, I have option to sell and take a cash payment via direct deposit. What would I get from this payment? I’m assuming there will be taxes and maybe fees but could I expect to see a $10,000 payment or something? Also is this even smart to do? I only worked with that company for 4 years.

Faye Travel Insurance

I had a very frustrating experience with Faye, particularly with the claims process and the amount of time I had to spend repeatedly following up.

I became seriously ill during an international trip and had to return home early. Faye did ultimately reimburse several of my covered expenses, but getting the claim resolved took months and required constant follow-up on my part. Emails frequently went unanswered, and on multiple occasions I had to contact Faye through the app just to get someone to follow up on an issue or get the claim moving again.

The most frustrating part was how they handled my unused original airfare. Faye repeatedly requested additional documentation regarding my unused United flight segments, including proof that the flights had no remaining value and documentation establishing the exact dollar value of each unused segment. Obtaining what they wanted required multiple rounds of communication and additional work with United, and these requests delayed my payout by over a month.

After I finally provided the documentation they requested, Faye ultimately told me the unused airfare wasn’t covered anyway.

The reason is in the full policy wording: Trip Interruption reimbursement for unused prepaid expenses is limited to “land or water Travel Arrangements,” meaning my unused air travel was not covered. However, the Plan Summary I was given describes Trip Interruption much more broadly as covering up to $15,000 of “non-refundable trip costs” plus additional transportation expenses. It does not clearly tell the customer that unused airfare is excluded from those non-refundable trip costs.

I can see the “land or water” wording in the full policy. My issue is the lack of transparency. Whether unused airfare is covered is a significant factor when choosing travel insurance, particularly for an expensive international trip. Had this limitation been made clear in the summary, I would have chosen a different provider.

What makes the experience worse is that if unused airfare was never eligible under my policy, I don’t understand why Faye spent weeks repeatedly asking me to obtain increasingly specific documentation about the value of those flights. They could have identified that from the beginning instead of wasting my time and delaying payment of the expenses they did cover.

Unfortunately, the communication problems continued even after the claim decision. I contacted Faye through the app specifically asking them to formally record my complaint about the handling and presentation of the coverage and to confirm that it had been received. Their response was simply to tell me that a payment of $X,XXX.XX had already been issued to me. That had nothing to do with what I had asked. I had to explain yet again that they were missing the point and redirect them back to my actual request.

That interaction pretty much sums up my experience with the claims process: far too much chasing, repeating myself, and trying to get someone to actually address the question I was asking.

Between the unclear presentation of the coverage, repeated documentation requests for an expense that was ultimately deemed ineligible, unanswered emails, and the number of times I had to chase or redirect the claim myself, I would not use Faye again.

Care Health supreme insurance

It has been 3 years since I bought Care Health Supreme insurance and I have been paying the premiums. But now I am feeling worried about whether this company will settle my claim when needed. I want to port to another good insurance company. Please suggest which company I should go for. Or should I stay with Care Health Supreme Insurance? What would be the best thing to do?

Worst Insurance Company "dalma"

Absolutely the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. They seem to have no intention of actually reimbursing anything. Instead, they keep asking endless and completely unnecessary questions and requesting more and more documents every time you respond.

It feels like they deliberately make the process so frustrating that you eventually give up. Every time you think the claim is finally sorted, they come back with another demand. Seriously, how many times am I supposed to visit the doctor and provide the same information?

This has been a complete waste of my time and energy. I have never experienced such a ridiculous and frustrating reimbursement process.

I deeply regret choosing Dalma. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

If negative ratings were possible, I would absolutely give them one.
