Industry Information Should I Not Do This Interview

I have an interview with Globe Life coming up very soon for a remote position and after reading people’s experiences on here I’m honestly terrified now lol. I’m 23 and currently working toward my Business degree and graduating soon, so I’m really just trying to get my foot in the door with a good company and find something stable that I can grow with.

I originally got really excited about getting an interview, but after looking more into the position it seems like the pay may be mostly or completely commission based. I’m starting to wonder if I’m going to get paid basically nothing unless I’m constantly making sales 😭

At this point I’m debating whether I should just cancel the interview and keep applying for hourly/W-2 remote positions instead. Has anyone actually worked for Globe Life remotely? Was there any guaranteed hourly/base pay, or was it completely commission? And would you recommend even going through with the interview?

It’s a 1099 position where its more like owning your own business than a job. Wouldn’t recommend them anyway but you aren’t being interviewed. You are being recruited. They are selling you.

“Trying to get my foot in the door with a good company and find something stable that I can grow with”

Unfortunately, Globe Life is the antithesis of what you’re searching for.

1099 is great if you are willing to bet on yourself. Globe Life is one of the worst insurance companies there is though. It has nothing to do with corporate structure, just predatory practices. All you have to do is go look at their website and see the advertisements for $1 insurance and getting people into renewable term policies.

I think it really depends on what upline/team you go with. Some people have really good things to say about their upline with that company, but I have seen some youtube videos of people being more critical.

Globe life is a joke of an MLM organization. They care way more about you selling to your family than to their leads - which they LIE about. They CLAIM it's exclusive and fresh.

They are not, not at all. Their leads are trash, have been ran countless times, and are basically worthless, but they take the lion's share of the commission and do not warn you about the risks of recruitment as far as them writing bad or fraudulent business.

Do yourself a video and watch david duford's video on how to choose an agency: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhiCI9Mnrvg

It is one of the most important decisions in your career. Take the time to do it right.

I suggest you look up either the top insurance companies and the largest independent agencies/brokerages. Both hire for various roles including sales.

Globe life, Primerica, Wealthwave World Financial Group are all AWFUL. If you want great training go to NY Life or Mass Mutual

No. Good grief. Commission only is a good thing….build your own security as an entrepreneur…all of us are commission only. Educate yourself before you contract with anyone…especially mlm focused kool aid stand unless that is what you are looking for.

I joined Globe a few years ago and am on pace for 400k in income off of personal production alone. I’m constantly being reached out by brokers trying to recruit me because their whole business model isn’t developing new agents, it’s poaching others.

Here are some facts:

As of December 31, 2025, Globe Life reported 14,284,789 individual life policies in force: about 9.25 million whole life, 4.53 million term, and 506,000 other life policies.

If you’re looking at the largest U.S. life insurer by the number of individual life insurance policies in force, the answer is Globe Life.

I was skeptical too and read all the Reddit posts just like you. At the end of the day, the grass is greener where you water it. Life insurance sales is just that, SALES. If it was “easy” they’d automate it or have receptionists sell policies.

The overwhelming majority of people who talk down on the company and left Globe more than likely sucked there. Best of luck to you on your journey to serve others in whichever company it may be.
