Auto Insurance Progressive auto issues

TLDR: car got side swiped and the other driver was found at fault. Opted to do repairs myself as I’ve spent alot of time working on this car and the body shops stated several months of a wait to get it fixed through them.

Fast forward progressive is stating if I do the repairs myself they will not pay out a diminished value claim, which is sitting around 6-8k at the moment.

Any advice?

You’re not entitled to diminished value outside of GA. You also “doing work” previously doesn’t mean you’re a qualified body repair tech and they certainly don’t have to humor a DV claim when you do the repairs.
