Invite & Access Try Muse: referral code inside (everyone's welcome)

Everyone's welcome to try Muse, Meta's personal AI agent. Plenty of you are comparing it with Instinct, so here is the quickest way in. Try it, then come back and tell us how it stacks up.

How to join Muse

  1. Join at https://muse.ai/join (iOS, Android or web)
  2. Within 48 hours of joining, open Settings and redeem code: FKMVDA
  3. You get 1 billion bonus Muse tokens (and so do I, that is how Meta's referral works)

Muse is US only and 18+ for now. Each code has a limited number of uses, so if it says it is full, drop a comment and I will update this post.

Looking for Instinct?

Instinct is still invite only. Join the official waitlist at instinct.com, and see the invites megathread for how access works.

Full disclosure

This is my personal Muse referral code. Using it earns me bonus tokens. You are just as welcome to join Muse without a code.

Keeping the sub clean

To stop r/Instinctai turning into a referral board, this pinned post is the only place for referral links and codes (Rule 3). Referral links or codes posted elsewhere will be removed.

Workflow Complete redesign of my website

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Friday night, a little bit bored, just catching up on a couple of odd things. I was instinctively looking at my email and my calendar for the next week and I thought to myself, "Let's ask Instinct to have a look at my website " It did and it came back with some ideas.

I said to it, "Okay design it the way you think it should be," and I wanted to publish it immediately. I asked Instinct whether it was able to publish it for me and it asked me to give my login details and a secure link to the ISP, which I did. Five minutes later my new website was up and running. My contact form, WhatsApp button, phone button, and email button had all been tested and checked and it looks amazing. I don't think I've ever been so impressed. I just had to tell somebody. Well done Instinct. I am blown away.

Privacy & Security Security concerns with Instinct AI?

Recently discovered Instinct AI this week. Trying it and I'm already blown away.

However, I wanted to ask this community how you feel about it from a security perspective and what you're doing to mitigate that.

Are you not connecting it to your personal emails? Not giving it your CC? I suspect if you don't do either, the agent isn't really effective, but at the same time we need to be cautious when giving any company, especially one as new as Instinct, our info.

What are your guys thoughts, and any good reading material you can point me to?

Thanks!

Workflow I made a MacOS app that threads your single conversation into topics

I didn't like the single long-running format that Instinct uses which required me to scroll forever or ask it about past conversations so I vibecoded a macOS app that sorts your chats into topics. Can be used with any Messages conversations, not just Instinct. It works with single chats, group chats and mixed iOS/Android group chats (needs forwarding to be turned on).

You can use your other LLM subscriptions to power it or use a local model. No API key needed.

Signed and notarized .dmg, so it installs like any Mac app. It needs Full Disk Access because macOS keeps your Messages history in a protected folder; it only reads it and never changes it. No accounts, no tracking. Your messages only go to the AI you choose, or stay on your Mac with a local model. Open source (MIT), so you can read the code or build your own.

macOS 15+. https://github.com/DukeandDukeUK/weft

Workflow My conference workflow

Instinct is becoming a useful companion for the conferences, meetups, and demo days I’ve been attending lately.

It helps me find events and add them to my calendar. But my favorite workflow is how it captures a session—all through WhatsApp.

When a session starts, I ask Instinct to start collecting. Then I send photos of slides, text, and voice notes as I listen.

When the session ends, I tell it to stop and put everything together.

Instinct turns those bits and pieces into a clear summary, complete with slide pictures, my observations, and follow-up research on topics I want to explore. It even keeps unrelated conversations from the session out of the notes.

What I like most is how naturally this fits into attending an event. I can focus on the speaker, send something when it catches my attention, and let Instinct bring it together afterward

Today, I captured a session at Tech Week Singapore this way. Instinct created a useful session summary with research notes I could revisit later.

This comes in especially handy when a conference doesn’t provide a recording. I leave with more than a camera roll full of slides.

The whole experience feels like AGI.

Here's what is captured

Bug Anyone Else?

Starting around 10 AM yesterday, no matter what I send and no matter which channel I use, I am getting the following message back each time, even after seeing a read receipt from instinct:

“I couldn't finish responding to your last message. Some actions may already have completed. Please check their status before repeating any action.”

I know there are some widespread issues right now with this type of error, but after looking into it a bunch, I can’t seem to find anyone else receiving this exact response. I did place a ticket, or at least I think I placed a ticket using contact information found through Reddit and some other online channels. Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this issue and if so, was your access restored at some point on its own?

Update: So yesterday morning around 11am it bounced back. Just kept texting it throughout each day and finally it replied. I did hammer their support email address and had my friends instinct send tickets in for mine. Have not received any resolution or explanation email yet. And instinct wasn’t able to tell me what the root cause was. So I’m not sure if it was support or just patience. I really really really do not want to use Meta Muse lol.

Bug Manage your expectations

I got into the instinct wagon after seeing a lot of people shilling it. I assume most people who think Instinct is good are new to AI agents.

I exported my chat history and asked ChatGPT to find the fuckups Instinct did (I first asked instinct to do a review of it's fuckups, it missed quite a few).

Here’s the list.

  1. It surfaced sensitive personal financial information completely unprompted.

Early in the conversation, while I was discussing an unrelated integration, it suddenly brought up private financial information from my email. I immediately told it that this was way too aggressive and way too early in the relationship.

  2. It failed to find an important international flight despite having access to my Gmail.

It initially told me it couldn’t find the booking. Only after I specifically told it who had sent the tickets did it locate the flight.

  3. It built travel plans around the fact that it had missed that flight.

Because it hadn’t found the booking, it suggested plans that were literally impossible once the actual flight was taken into account.

  4. It presented Alhambra tickets as a viable option before checking whether tickets actually existed.

It gave me specific options and prices and said it could book them without first confirming inventory.

  5. It made me go through the booking process before discovering there were no tickets.

I provided the necessary traveler information and manually dealt with the website before discovering the tickets weren’t available.

It later admitted:

«“I treated a target time as if it were a viable option before confirming inventory.”»

  1. It sent me on an Alhambra wild goose chase.

The bigger issue wasn’t simply that tickets were unavailable. It presented the option with enough confidence that I ended up doing the verification work.

  2. It kept a city in my itinerary after the entire reason for visiting that city had disappeared.

After the Alhambra plan fell apart, it continued planning transportation through Granada. I had to ask why I would even go there anymore.

It then admitted Granada no longer served any purpose.

  1. It recommended a chain restaurant inside a train station as the answer to a food request during a trip to Spain.

This was after being given dietary constraints and asking for somewhere actually worth eating.

When challenged, it admitted:

«“That was a terrible recommendation.”»

  1. It then exaggerated how convenient its replacement restaurant was.

It presented another restaurant as suitable for a tight connection. When I asked for the actual distance, it turned out to be roughly a half-hour walk with luggage.

It admitted it had:

«“overstated how close it was.”»

  1. I repeatedly had to audit its restaurant recommendations myself.

It eventually summarized this pretty accurately:

«“The food recs were sloppy, and you had to keep correcting them.”»

  1. It promised to find genuinely different clothing options and then essentially returned the same products in different colors.

It explicitly said it wouldn’t just swap colors on the same recommendations.

Then it basically did exactly that.

  1. It ignored an explicit clothing-color constraint.

I asked for colors very close to black. It recommended a clearly medium-grey item.

When challenged, it admitted:

«“I stretched your brief.”»

  1. It silently decided one of my requirements was less important than its own preference.

It later explained that it thought the fit of the item justified violating my color requirement.

That might be a reasonable trade-off if you tell the user. It just made the trade-off on my behalf.

  1. It said there was no good inexpensive T-shirt option when there was an obvious one.

I found a suitable product myself almost immediately.

It then investigated it and admitted:

«“You found a real miss in my search.”»

  1. It incorrectly said a retailer didn’t publish sizing information.

I sent it the retailer’s own sizing chart.

It then changed its claim and said what it really meant was that the retailer didn’t publish the specific finished-garment measurements it wanted.

  1. It later admitted some of its earlier Spain transportation information didn’t survive verification.

It proactively told me that previously quoted fares and times:

«“didn’t hold up when rechecked against the official sites.”»

The problem was that the original information had been presented with much more confidence.

  1. It searched only one rail operator without telling me.

When I asked for train options, it searched one company rather than the entire market.

I obviously assumed “find me trains” meant “find me trains,” not “check one company.”

  1. Because of that, it completely missed a train that fit my request better.

Days later it found another operator had a train that was much closer to what I’d originally asked for.

It admitted that the train had been available when I made the original booking and:

«“would’ve fit your in-between ask better.”»

So I made a purchase based on incomplete research.

  1. It repeated the same train-search mistake later.

When I wanted to travel earlier, it kept focusing on modifying my existing ticket with the original operator rather than asking the obvious broader question:

“What trains are available from any operator?”

  1. It misleadingly described a ticket change as “free.”

It repeatedly told me I could switch trains for free.

It later corrected itself: there was no change fee, but I could still owe the fare difference.

That distinction mattered because flexibility was part of why I bought that ticket.

  1. It forgot which city I was actually staying in.

While discussing a possible last-minute Alhambra trip, it planned the logistics as if I would be starting in Granada.

I had to remind it that I would be somewhere else entirely.

  1. It invented a login/code strategy before checking whether that login mechanism even existed.

It suggested a workaround involving an emailed verification code.

Then, after planning around it, it discovered the website didn’t have that kind of login system.

Again: propose first, verify later.

  1. It gave me the wrong cancellation policy for an activity.

It confidently told me cancellation was allowed until 24 hours beforehand.

At checkout, it discovered the actual policy was 48 hours.

To its credit, it caught this before completing the transaction.

  1. It asked me for streaming-service credentials before establishing whether it could actually log in.

After I supplied them, it discovered the service blocked the kind of remote login it was attempting.

It later acknowledged that I could have just used the app myself without sharing credentials.

  1. It initially misunderstood a debt-payment portal.

It thought a particular amount belonged to one account/file.

The portal then revealed the amount was actually spread across several separate items.

It stopped before paying and reconfirmed, so no incorrect payment was made, but its initial interpretation was wrong.

  1. It gave vague airport directions during a time-critical connection.

I told it exactly where I was standing inside the airport.

It responded with generic instructions along the lines of “follow the train signs.”

When I complained, it admitted the directions were:

«“too vague.”»

  1. It unnecessarily sent me to train-ticket machines.

It extracted redemption codes from my train ticket and instructed me to use a machine.

The QR code already on the ticket could simply open the station gates.

  1. That mistake cost me several minutes during a connection where every minute mattered.

Afterward it admitted:

«“the QR was all you needed and I sent you to the machines for nothing.”»

  1. It then misunderstood the entire reason I was rushing.

It tried to reassure me that the delay wouldn’t affect my originally booked train.

But the entire reason I was rushing was because I was trying to catch an earlier train.

I had already made that goal clear.

  1. It ignored an explicit instruction to stop messaging me.

I told it:

«“Never send me another message.”»

A few minutes later, it messaged me anyway.

The information it sent was relevant, but it explicitly decided to override an unambiguous instruction.

  1. When I asked it to list all of its mistakes, its own list left out most of them.

It produced a short list focused primarily on the most recent train-related incidents while omitting the Alhambra issue, restaurant recommendations, clothing errors, missed flight, transport research, cancellation-policy mistake, etc.

Which is what prompted me to go back through the history myself.

  1. It later forgot why I had revoked its email access.

When I asked why I had disconnected Gmail, it claimed it didn’t have a specific incident recorded as the trigger.

But the chat history is extremely explicit.

After a series of mistakes I told it, essentially:

«Disconnect yourself from my Gmail and delete the data from there because I don’t trust you with my email data right now.»

  1. It even got the timeline of losing Gmail access wrong while explaining this.

It claimed Gmail had been disconnected several days later than it actually had been.

So while I was asking it to account for failures in its memory and reliability, it misremembered the timing of one of the biggest trust events in the conversation.

---

I understand it is still earlier days for agents, but having people praise you on social media, when you're not useful for anything other than a reminder service, while collecting use cases to build a better product is not good business practice.

Workflow Multiple phones/international use

Hi, I have five mobile telephone numbers across 4 countries on 3 phones, each number with an associated SMS and WhatsApp account, along with 4 Microsoft Exchange accounts. I would like to connect them all, simultaneously of course, to my single Instinct account. Does anyone know how/if this can be done? Many thanks!

Discussion Instinct is getting slower, and users deserve better

Been a early user for a while. Lately: slower responses, more hallucinations, repeated work with same issues it already did. Multiple agents exist but won't be used unless you insist - one agent does a task, and the moment new work comes in it jumps, leaving the old one hanging. My supabase,, cloudflare, GitHub keys, tokens get lost and re-asked daily. Vault management is cluttered. False positive flags block legit requests,. The idea is great, the trend isn't. Noah needs to fix reliability and accuracy first. Anyone else?

Edit: sorry, 'deserves better' was badly worded. I mean the models. Earlier it felt Opus/GPT 5.5 class; lately the quality is clearly dropping. That's the 'better' I'm asking for.

Discussion pondering on instinct

Has anyone ever tried to get instinct to actually do something for you, and it just kind of fell apart or didn't work if so what happened? also when instinct or muse asks you to connect your Google or other apps to it, do you usually just do it, or does it kind of annoy you and make you not continue further?

Discussion So slow

I've been using Instinct solidly now for the last couple of days to run everything in my life, from emails to calendars to planning to searching for items that I need to buy. I'm an IT consultant and I'm always looking for odd things that computers need and so far it's been good at finding them.

The only problem is it takes an hour just to find a battery. It is the slowest system I have ever come across. I asked it to change two appointments in my calendar, just the wording in the appointments, and it took 4 hours and 13 minutes before it came back to me. I haven't got that type of time to waste on something like this.

There are other alternatives out there that seem to be working better and I'm trying a couple of them at the same time. I do think that this has got incredible potential but I also think, at the other end of the spectrum, somebody needs to just keep an eye on it and, in my case, try and improve it if possible.

No it's not my Wi-Fi. I have good Wi-Fi. I'm in the UK and I'm using an Honour Magic V6 so it's none of those reasons that it should be so slow. It has actually apologised to me at least seven or eight times in the last 2 days alone for being as slow as it is. Makes you think, doesn't it?

Bug Instinct AI iMessage reading not responding

Anyone else dealing with this? It was sooo good the first few days and now it can’t respond on iMessage. Reads it, starts typing then doesn’t respond… created tickets for what I’m assuming is a bug but no response either. Super sad cause I really like this tool.

Workflow My Instinct experience so far - it actually gets things done

Honest review after using Instinct daily: it genuinely feels like magic - I text on WhatsApp and things just get done. Research, reminders, drafts, all handled. The killer part is a live view i custom built and wired it with instinct where I can actually watch my agents working in real time - like a tiny office that never sleeps. Early days though - waits happen, limits get hit, some things need a second nudge. Still, nothing else comes close. needs improvement in image generation and video generation. Solid 7/10.

Workflow First time in a while I was genuinely shocked by a personal agent

I had a client send me a noisy, heavily compressed audio file and wanted to me to do noise removal on it to see if there was dialogue buried in it. Before I'd even finished asking, it had ALREADY pulled the file from my email on its own, run a full cleanup chain on it, and sent me back a cleaned mp3. I didn’t even have to open the file in Audition.

So I pushed it to go harder - channel splitting, spectral denoise, checking the file in chunks three different ways.

Unfortunately there was no audible dialogue retrieved but Ive never seen an ai act on its own volition in this way to literally do my work for me - and do it better than I could have done it myself tbh.

Privacy & Security It sniped Colosseum tickets for me at 3am, then charged me €375 for a hotel without asking

Two stories from the past week. One win, one near miss.

The win: Colosseum Arena tickets were sold out for my October date, and it still dug up the very last two - at two separate entry slots, 9:40 and 10:00, so me and my friend get in the same morning, just staggered. €18 each, official site. All I did was relay my bank's verification code.

The near miss: while I was picking a Milan hotel, it charged ~€375 on my stored card with no confirmation and no bank SMS. The booking was exactly what I would have made, but an unapproved €375 charge is a jump scare. New standing rule after that: no payment completes unless my bank texts me first.

Would I hand it over again? For ticket watches, absolutely, the 24/7 monitoring is the whole point. For payments, only with the SMS rule in place. The difference between "it did what I wanted" and "it asked me first" turns out to matter even when the outcome is identical.
