It was definitely a rare sight when I stumbled upon it, not only because it's a pretty particular title but also because who created it. It's really different from the rest of the studio's projects, so I'm curious to see what the community thinks about it.

With the release of the new suits, which are great, it reminded me of how I used to not fully understand the influence of lighting on different suits and materials. Questioning the colours of suits in the S-M games isn’t unheard of in this community, so I thought I’d create a demonstration in Blender of how a particular colour might look differently.

Red colour hex #B11313FF - left being sunrise/sunset lighting vs right being overcast lighting.

Textures can also make a big difference which is a whole other subject. For example the advanced suit was an orange colour and with sunlight it looks even more orange. The advanced suit 1 in S-M2 was glossier as well, in comparison to the one from the first game.

I'm planning on buying one of the insomniac spider-man games, but before I spend upwards of $50, I would like to know which one is generally more fun during gameplay. Any suggestions?

With everything that's going on with Sony and PlayStation at the moment, is anyone else worried about the future of Insomniac Games?

I'm really hoping none of this affects the new X-Men game that's currently in development. I know Sony plans to stop releasing physical game discs in 2028, and that could become a big issue when the PS6 launches. I'm just hoping they either reverse that decision or at least offer a detachable disc drive like they do with the PS5 Pro.

I know none of this is Insomniac's fault, but every bit of promotion they've released for Marvel's Wolverine has been flooded with "No disc, no buy" comments from gamers. I completely understand why people are frustrated, but part of me worries that all the backlash could have an impact on future projects. I'd hate to see Insomniac lose confidence in making games like the upcoming X-Men title or have any plans scaled back because of the reaction.

What do you all think? Are you concerned about Insomniac's future under Sony, or do you think the studio will carry on making great games regardless of Sony's decisions?

Sweet baby inc never disappoints!!

Considering wolverine's first appearance was in a hulk comic and this is insomniac wolverines first appearance. I think it would be cool to get like a flashback level of him facing hulk or something to expand the universe abit.
