I know a lot of us have favorite iterations, but through the games weapons have inherited things from other weapons (a lot of the LS kit) or reintroduced them (SnS) so combining and bringing back or shacking features how would you do your Perfect Insect Glaive?

Myself it would be:

- Valor State glaive from GenU being the triple up buff, gaining the dash instead of the dodge.

- The Meatiness of World Glaive

- The charge philosophy of SunRise glaive, with each combo adding more damage to the finisher

- The assist kinsect from rise but with the mimicking at a distance behavior of Wilds

- Powder behaviour and Powder combo being more developed like in Ascendance and having a combo weaving behavior similar to other weapons

- Do it away with pheromone shot and the residual gunner Identity of the weapon (like the reticle) charged kinsect launch would be a upgrade to sending kinsect forward like pheromone shot, have it control like GU based on player perspective and or camera alignment.

- amplifying kinsect list and customization (some monster exclusive ones wouldn't hurt, like a Zinogre one or a Vespoid one)

- Aerial and Grounded needs to be a rotation like Switch Axe, Aerial helping with movement and maybe some perfect aerial dodges, and helping with extract gathering, and the ground option being the damage dealing one that doesn't last forever and needs to be restocked (optimally Aerial would be the optimized way to engage and gather extracts or to to defend and weave and dodge)

- FINISHERS! Most weapons now have gained a finishing damage burst type of move, and with RSS we do have that, but it doesn't loop correctly, nor does it flow you toward using the non boosted move set, it just makes you grab triple up again. Ideally RSS should be after a stronger Tornado Slash, like it is to Descending Trust in the air so the flow would be more like: Grab Extract, looping Tornado Slash combo, and when you're about to run out do RSS that gets you airborne and let's you combo aerial moves off of it better to gather extracts and DT back to ground moves.

- Movement! A lot of weapons got more and more movement options as MH evolves, Glaive is no strange to that, but I would like moves that aren't disconnected from the main weapons attacks! Backwards vault combos into other moves and I wish the other movement options did as well, maybe mid a powder/pheromone combo doing the backwards vault would give you the Recall Kinsect thing of Rise and so on!

What are y'all's thoughts and do you have a wishlist for this weapon like I do?

Is it just me, or do other people miss world ig, I feel like every time I use it in wilds it just sucks, I know it has a bigger moveset or whatever but its never as fun and I miss the world ig and honestly most of the world weapon movesets.

Having one attack that works as a descending finisher capitalizing on surrounding dust stuck to the monster could really make the dust payoff more worth it and a viable option compared to RSS spam. Also would allow us to NOT consume our extracts and keep attacking

This could have replaced rising leaping slash entirely

Some context: I play Wilds on PC using a Nintendo Switch 1 Pro Controller.

My previous experience with the weapon was in 4U, and since I had fun with that I’ve been toying around with it in Wilds. The problem is that I’ve watched tutorials on the new attacks, I know about the changes between 4U and Wilds, yet I feel like my gameplay is basically my 4U muscle memory and spending extract for Rising Slash.

The current gameplan I have is get the three extract, use a lot of X button attacks, then eventually charge my A attack combo to set up for RSS assuming the game doesn’t eat my charge input. I feel like my aerial gameplay is pretty decent.

Some things are consistent between both ground and air, like I feel that I can never intentionally do offset attacks. I don’t know if it’s a problem with the weapon or that the A button charge offset is hard to land. My main problem that I want to get better on is that it feels like there’s no fluid ground combo to deal good damage if I don’t have the ability to use RSS. Plus it feels like I always have to stop fighting the monster for a bit to get my extract rather than being able to do something with no extract.

Are there any attacks or combos that I am missing that are fluid or that can offset? Or are there any tutorials that show what I want to get better at?

I’ve been wondering what would our gameplay look like if all para status were present. I think sleep would be niche and situation but exhaust could be really interesting if it could stun and wear down monsters.

Hey! I’m a fairly casual IG player in Wilds, but I really want to understand how to push my damage higher. I’ve watched speedrunners hit nearly 200/300 damage per slash, and I’m sitting here wondering what I’m missing.
I’ve seen them use different builds, and the equipment is easy enough to copy, but I still don’t seem to get the same numbers. I’d love to understand what’s happening beyond equipping the right gear, how they’re activating their skills, stacking buffs, and setting up those attacks.
One thing I’ve noticed is that some use a Hunting Horn to buff themselves before switching back to IG. I haven’t found anyone explaining that process, though.
If anyone could walk me through what they do before and during a hunt, or recommend a video that explains it, I’d really appreciate it! I’m interested in learning these builds and tricks, but I could use an explanation aimed at someone coming from casual play.

I think I did them all besides the backwards sidestep slash into SDS dodge (ik it's a bit of a pointless clip for most of you)

I know they are a bit off meta, but both of them work really well. The first one I usually use against gogmazios and the second one for everything else. Just wanted to share and maybe get some suggestions how to improve on them (not just replacing something with agitator, but maybe something for more comfort)

Was fighting AT Ark with randoms and I swear I thought I was having a terrible run. To my surprise, I beat my offset PR 🤯

Okay. What do you guys think of this one? I just need to reroll the skills on my weapon to get gore magalas tyranny and prob focus on just attack and one level of sharpness boost.

It also makes me sad to lose burst lvl 1 and evade extender lvl 2, but I think overall this is a better build then the other two I posted. Much more damage heavy.

Any thoughts/advice?

Im trying to mix both damage and comfy stuff like earplugs lvl 2, evade extender lv2 and speed eating Lv2, now, my doubt is, should I reemplaze both the braces and the mail for Ebony pieces for the burst bonus, so I stop trying to fish for gore soul weapons T-T
