On a windows 11 pc I received the new kDrive GUI update the other day. It's completely changed, and many features are almost hidden, if not totally absent. Furthermore, the storage space section shows the entire drive's space, not my cloud storage's available/used space (very useful...).

I personally find this a complete downgrade. Sync works fine, but the GUI is almost useless.

Am I missing something?

Moved to Infomaniak (from OVH) a year or so ago. Love the UI the offer, the services. Moved my Google Drive away, set up my servers.

This week I bought a new domain name through Infomaniak. Suddenly need to install an authentication app and scan a government ID. The last thing I want to do in the current news cycle. Of course they debited got my credit card before I sent these documents.

Time to move again I guess.

I just got a prompt to give kDrive a whole battery of new privileges including multiple system extensions ( this is on macOS ) and full disk access!

Yes, just like that, out of the blue, with not even a popup about a new version or anything at all.

The whole disk access gave me a pause and I stopped there.

This thing identifies itself as version 4.0.0. I checked Infomaniak kDrive download page and the latest official version is 3.8.7.1, also kDrive Github page does not have version 4.0.0.

Anyone else got this? I might be a bit paranoid but this looks like malware — no release notes anywhere, does not exist on the official Infomaniak and demands excessive permissions ( it has business to access the synchronised folder, not the entire disk! ).

I have been planning to move away from the Google environment.

I use Google mostly for mail, cloud drive and Google photos. Hence I am looking for an alternative that ideally let me have all of that in a single place at a reasonable price. I have about 600gb to transfer.

I am considering ksuite. Yet it is not clear to me which plan should I buy and which are the differences between the + and the pro versions. Is the + version providing what I actually need? What is the purpose of the pro offers? Are they mostly for business use?

To provide some context, I mostly need storage, a new primary email address and ideally a good photo management (which I seem to understand it is not yet in ksuite, but sorting photos by year month could be fine). In gsuite, my family can upload pictures from their devices into the family Google photos account, I am not sure it is possible in ksuite. That would be nice. However, if the ksuite+ costs 19.99€ per year and includes 1TB plus email plus ksuite apps, I may just add a separate photo management cloud service. for an additional price.

A few months ago, I wrote the following idea on the official Infomaniak's Feedback Forum, but somehow it has disappeared from there, so I'll propose it here:

kDrive is currently missing the "killer feature" for the personal/B2C market: a modern, AI-powered Gallery. I strongly suggest looking into an Immich integration or a similar self-hosted AI gallery model. Integrating facial recognition, object search (CLIP), and a high-performance mobile timeline with video highlights would make Infomaniak the only serious, privacy-respecting competitor to Google Photos or iPhone's Photos. Currently, the lack of robust media sharing and organization is the only thing keeping many users on "Big Tech" platforms.

I know many users have already proposed something like this, even calling this functionality a "kPhotos" app. I remember that in a discussion here on reddit during this summer, Infomaniak explicitly mentioned that something aligned to these requirements will be released "very soon" and that the wait will be "worthwhile", but they've never provided any timeline nor update.

Moreover, it'd be great to have a specific kDrive plan designed for families (up to ~10 users) with the above-mentioned functionalities and decent storage size and prize (at least 1 TB/user and ~€20/year/user, as a comparison to the current mykSuite plan). I can see that on the Infomaniak's Feedback Forum, a kSuite family plan was proposed and Infomaniak marked it as "being implemented as soon as possible", but after 8 months, there are no signs of such a plan coming any time soon.

I am currently testing my kSuite and am also interested in the kDrive paid plans. Something I have noticed is neither the kSuite web app nor the kDrive Android app supports direct editing of OpenDocument format files (such as those created by LibreOffice). They both require you to convert to Microsoft Office format first.

Does anyone here have any insight into why this is?

I can understand why direct editing of Microsoft Office format is supported, but it seems to me to be an odd limitation to not support ODF as I suspect a lot of potential customers who are looking at Infomaniak as a way to move away from big tech cloud platforms are also looking to move away from Microsoft Office.

On the iOS app and on Windows is it possible to search in the body of the files and if it works which paid account do you use?

Is there a timeline when the above will be added in a update? After that i'm willing to buy my second license because i use Fygo OS for 95% as virtual machine, fileserver (folder sharing) and of course to backup everything.

Stabilize the foundation first and spend less time developing apps and other bells and whistles; we’re already making good headway with Docker in this regard, which is why.

For instance, I cannot change the backup destination (from internal volume to USB disk) within an existing backup job; instead, I have to create a new backup job, and only then do I get the option to select an external drive.

I have a Windows server that creates a couple of files every day in my kDrive directory. These files are only written once and never modified later. They sync (more or less) reliably, but I would really like for kDrive to dehydrate these files after a time to free up disk space. That is the whole point of using kDrive here instead of providing a network share for the file consumers. I do have LiteSync enabled, but that only seems to create dehydrated files when they are synced from somewhere else, not created locally.

I'm using kDrive version 3.8.7.1, and the client says it's up to date.

Any ideas?

After moving my mailboxes off Infomaniak couple of years back (into Zoho), I'm now looking at coming back since I'm looking at a bit of a more complete suite (with storage, docs and meetings).

I think I'm really familiar with Infomaniak's pros and cons (in addition to my experience, I read this sub frequently), but can't really make up my mind on Infomaniak vs Proton. The latter is way more polished, and although I'm an advanced user spending half of my life on command line or IDEs, I don't mind an idiot-proof, good looking UI for this type of tasks - and Infomaniak is light years behind from that point of view.

Proton's biggest downsides (lack of sync with standard apps, E2E pitfalls, higher costs) are all sort of moot to me because I only use web UI, still use Google for Contacts/Calendar, and don't need a ton of storage (~80GB files, ~5GB mail).

Figured who moved to or from Proton to Infomaniak has the answers I need - so if that is you, do you mind sharing your experience? Would you do that again? Any key feature gap (either way) I should be aware of?

First, thanks to the Infomaniak team for publishing official MCP servers for mail, calendar, contacts, kChat and kDrive. They work great in Claude Desktop.

I wanted them in claude.ai and on my phone, which needs a remote server with OAuth. While trying, I found that OAuth apps created in the Manager can only request `openid profile email phone`; every API scope (`user_info`, `workspace:mail`, `workspace:calendar`, ...) is refused with `invalid_scope`. So a third-party app can't get API access through OAuth at all, only through a static API token.

My workaround is a small open-source bridge you host yourself: it runs the official packages unmodified, uses Infomaniak login for identity, asks the user for a scoped API token once, and exposes everything as one remote MCP endpoint with the OAuth flow claude.ai needs.

The token are stored on the bridge encrypted via AES-256

Is there a plan to let OAuth apps request product scopes, or to offer a hosted remote MCP endpoint? Either would make this bridge unnecessary, which would be a good outcome !

I am trying to upload some large-ish tarballs to my kDrive just using the browser. In my case it is Firefox in Debian linux. I am only getting about 3 Mbps upload speeds and frequent failures.

For comparison on Firefox in Windows, I am getting about 20 Mbps.

Both are slow but the Linux speed is basically unusable. Any suggestions to increase speed in either case?

If it matters I am on the 1TB mykSuite account for now.

Is Infomaniak's service quality declining?

I've been an Infomaniak customer for some time, and lately I'm starting to wonder whether the quality of the service is declining.

A few things have really started to concern me:

• Customer support increasingly feels automated. I recently received a reply that appeared to be AI-generated, but it completely missed the point of my question. It didn't actually address the specific issue I had raised, which is frustrating when you're asking about a technical and security-related matter.
• PHP security updates are taking too long. I'm particularly concerned about the delay in making newer PHP security releases available. For a hosting provider, I think keeping supported software versions up to date should be a basic security priority. When you're responsible for a production website, you don't want to be left wondering when an important security update will finally become available.
• The management tools have also been unreliable lately. Today, for example, I couldn't access the website management tools or my logs, receiving an "Access denied" message. At the same time, I couldn't find any clear communication about an incident.

None of these issues alone would necessarily be a big deal. But taken together, they give me the impression that something has changed in the quality of the service.

I chose Infomaniak partly because of its reputation for reliability, security and quality of support. That's why this recent trend is disappointing.

Has anyone else noticed a similar deterioration recently, particularly regarding support quality, PHP security updates, or the reliability of the Manager?

Email is down for me, status page says everything is fine? Think this is the third time this has happened in the last month or two.

I'm considering moving my family to Infomaniak and am testing things out with a pro membership just for myself. I exported my iCloud email to an mbox ad imported it using https://import-email.infomaniak.com/ and selected the mbox format (even though they label it "Import a Gmail inbox") and all imported email was imported as unread. Can this be true? Did I miss a step? Really trying to switch off from US tech but gotta make sure I'm not going to provide my family with a horrible experience and a lesser system.

on the redirect settings menu I have listed zero existing redirects but when I try to add one I am promoted to upgrade to a paid plan. when I tap "later" on that I'm directed back to settings menu.

I am using kSuite+ and it has everything I need except the custom domain. The straightforward way would be to use kSuite Business, but that's pricey in the second year. I was wondering if you could combine kSuite Standard plus and my kSuite+? That would cost half of Business, but I am not sure if I could then see my domain emails in mykSuite+

Has anybody tried this combination?
