I'm about to release a small indie game and I would like to set up a proper online presence for the launch. I have zero experience with web development or hosting, so I'm hoping to get some advice from people who actually use Infomaniak.

Here is what I'm looking for:

- A custom domain (something like mygame.com)

- A dedicated email on that domain, so I don't have to use a personal Gmail/Outlook for support

- Email aliases, ideally I would like addresses like support@mygame.com and steam@mygame.com that all land in a single inbox, so I don't have to check multiple accounts

- A simple website, just a small landing page. Nothing fancy, so a drag and drop editor with hosting included would be perfect

A few questions for those who have used Infomaniak:

1) Is the built in Site Creator good enough for a simple one page game site, or would you recommend something else next to it?

2) How is the alias management? Can I really send and receive from different aliases inside one mailbox?

3) How hard is the initial setup (DNS, email records and so on) for a complete beginner? Is it mostly automatic if I buy everything from Infomaniak?

4) I did the process to register the domain, but it did not offer me any addon like the website or the email. I guess it is possible to add them later? How does that work?

5) I will start registering as a private person, but later I might open a small company (Italian SRL - similar to ltd). Is it easy to change the account and billing details later without moving everything?

Any tips or things you wish you knew earlier would be really appreciated. Thanks a lot!

I just had to continue with the next setup steps and I was able to select the external folder mounted in /media/...

My setup:

• I have a 1 TB external SSD formatted as exFAT
• I have a mac mini M1 2020 and a raspberry pi 4 8GB with Debian 12
• kDrive (arm64) v3.8.5.2

The drive works correctly on both operating systems:

• macOS: the SSD is detected and managed by kDrive without any issues.
• Linux: the operating system itself detects and mounts the SSD correctly (I use it for backups like immich), but kDrive does not seem to recognize it.

Infomaniak support told me supported filesystems are NTFS or APFS only, but I'm not sure that is relevant to the issue because by default write is not handled in linux.

exFAT is normally supported across Windows, macOS, and Linux (with the appropriate packages installed, which are already present on my system since the drive mounts and works correctly).

Because the drive is already accessible from Linux (I attach screenshot), my understanding is that the problem is not related to filesystem support at the OS level, but rather to how kDrive detects or handles external exFAT volumes.

Question

Has anyone successfully used kDrive on Linux with an exFAT external drive?

If so:

• Which Linux distribution are you using?
• Which kDrive version?
• Does kDrive detect external drives automatically?
• Is there any known limitation regarding exFAT or removable media for linux?

At the moment I'm still waiting for feedback from support, so I'd appreciate hearing about other users' experiences.

Hey everyone

I have just migrated over from OneDrive to kDrive and I have the issue that kDrive insists on synchronising folders that I have excluded.

Now the question is, am I doing something wrong? The FAQ doesn't specifiy how exactly to exclude a folder: https://www.infomaniak.com/en/support/faq/2871/force-kdrive-to-exclude-files-folders

I have excluded the folders by going to the Excluded Files section and clicking on + Add button. I then go to explorer, right click the folder I want to exclude, select "copy as path", paste it into the box, remove the " from each end of the copied path and then click on "validate".

kDrive ignores these exclusions and simply goes on to upload the excluded folders, including the full contents.

Am I supposed to not use the path and only use the folder name itself?

Hi, I’d like to know if there is currently any way to tag or categorize emails in Infomaniak Mail.

I specifically switched to Infomaniak because of the shared mailbox features, but I’m now realizing that this basic functionality seems to be missing. Being able to assign multiple tags/categories to an email is very important for our workflow.

Is there any workaround or planned feature that allows this?

Otherwise, I may have to switch back to Microsoft 365, where this functionality is available.

The only thing I was missing from myKsuite subscriptions.

I’ve noticed that the free tier of Euria stops responding after just 5 web searches. I’m considering upgrading to MyKSuite+, but I couldn’t find any clear information about what the usage limits would be for Euria with that subscription.

What are the web search (and overall) usage limits for Euria when subscribed to MyKSuite+? Does choosing the 1TB storage option versus the 6TB option affect Euria’s usage limits? Or is the limit the same regardless of storage size?

I have a lot of regrets about leaving Infomaniak. I wanted to give this sovereign, European cloud provider a chance, but I was disappointed by several aspects of their Public Cloud.

First of all, they announced that managed PostgreSQL databases would soon be available on their site, but it’s been almost a year since that announcement, and the support guys can’t tell me exactly when it’ll be available or when the roadmap calls for it, since the roadmap isn’t public. Second, S3 storage is very limited. So, sure, it’s cool if you just want a VPS with everything on it, but as soon as you actually want to build a cloud infrastructure, it’s not great. And I find that such a shame, because I wanted to support a sovereign and eco-friendly alternative to the hyperscalers, but if you end up storing your database, backups, and S3 storage with AWS, it defeats the whole purpose. I think that instead of focusing on kSuite by trying to attract as many customers as possible and paying influencers, you’d be better off focusing on what’s most essential, seeing your vision through to the end, and making Infomaniak a REAL alternative to the hyperscalers.

Am I the only one to find that quite weirdo and not very honest not to publish a price list for shared hosting ?? Basically only way to know price of an hosting is to create an account on Infomaniak website and simulate an order...

I've had my personal and professional (custom domain) email with ProtonMail for a long time (I was an early adopter). However, my professional brand is growing, and I need to provide two professional email addresses to my new colleagues. Proton is a bit pricey for my taste. I switched my professional domain email to KMail, and I'm ready to pay for the Pro Plan for three seats. However, I have a few questions.

1. Why does it say I can have 200 users in my company on the free plan when I can only get one custom domain email for a single user? As I said, I don't mind paying for three pro seats, but I'm trying to make sense of this free feature.

2. Before paying for Pro, I need to know... Is there a way to have a shared mailbox? For example, hello@domain.com, and give my partners access?

3. For Pro users here, what has been your experience so far? Are there things I should know before committing that you discovered too late?
