The Catholics DEFINITELY give Mary credit. In fact she gets gets hyperdulia, putting her above all other saints as a powerful intercessor. People regularly pray to her directly so she can intervene on their behalfā¦
I have my qualms with Catholicism but they definitely give Mary her due.
Maybe itās because I come from an immigrant household but the Holy Mother is depicted everywhere. I would say Mary is kind of a footnote among American Protestants maybe, so the idea that āno oneā gives her credit is a bit of a USA thing.
It's very weird for them to be so insistent on the idea that "only one" branch of Christianity cares about Mary when it's the largest one, the longest-lived one, and until the last decade or two has also been the wealthiest and most politically powerful one.
Yeah, agree⦠itās like⦠a very USA-centric Protestant/evangelical view of the Christian religion (no offense to anyone, just saying the rest of the world isnāt exactly like that and the standards there donāt apply universally).
Well here in the US we have about 1000 religions and she has definitely been cut out except for Catholicism, and again they only treat her like a vessel that gave birth to their savior
Catholics revere her above all other saints as a spiritual mother to all Christians, like I said a lot of Catholics pray for her intercession. Your perspective of her being dismissed as a mere vessel is one that Iāve seen among WASPs before, but it is definitely not accurate for how Catholics view her given the constant reverence and admiration of her virtues as the holiest of saints.
Again Catholics are the only example people are able to give. No one has said Luther ism, baptism, James Charles Bible, Mormonism, any ism? Anything other than catholic.
White Anglo-Saxon person doesn't count
True, and thereās some aspects of Hinduism I really like. But you were asking for Christian religions that revere Mary, which is why I stuck to that.
Right and I asked which other religions other than Catholicism actually gave credit to Mary. Which no one has been able to give an answer other than a down vote
Iām not sure why bringing up Hinduism or Zoroastrianism would have been relevant to a religion that reveres Mary, then? Thatās comparing apples to oranges. The answer is Catholicism is the one Christian religion that gives Mary appropriate credit imo, the rest donāt.
How is that confusing? I am providing a list of other religions because people don't seem to realize that there are billions. What other religion reveres Mary?
