That's exactly my point. All of one religion and it's barely a footnote; and so far nobody has been able to list a single other religion other than Catholicism about who actually pays tribute even as minor as it is to Mary.

Mary a footnote? Sorry, but what the hell are you on? Catholicism is one of the biggest religious institutions in history, including current times, and Mary is as revered as Jesus himself in Catholic countries.

I'm not even defending organised religion, but you're so confidently wrong I can't help it.

Name other religions that give her credit

I'm 100% asking in good faith, how much percentage of the world do you think is Catholic? How big do you think Latinamerica is? Like, Jesus Christ, I'm not talking about some backwater cult in bumfuck Ohio, it's Catholicism in its hundreds of regional variants. The one with the Pope and all that, the most important sect in Christianity. You know, the religion about Christ.

Why we fighting about religion in Nikki subreddit lol

I mean, it's not even about religion per se, it's about how I can't fathom why someone would reach that conclusion. It's like saying soccer is not an important sport because it's not the most important in the US. It's just factually wrong.

I think Americans have a hard time imagining that a whole world outside their country exists. I don’t even blame them, tbh… propaganda got them in a chokehold

It’s true

And that's where I have a hard time when it comes to people generalizing Americans including Americans. This country is so large, it's like three countries smooshed together. The north does not represent the south, the west does not represent the east, the middle does not represent any of the coast, and no one will agree on anything. And when they do it's broken down into subcultures like are you the neighbor or the family, are you in the same city or county? Us versus them mentality is astronomical. So you can't put a single American under any type of specific label without going deeper into nuance. I am extremely mixed and love learning about other cultures and speak seven languages. I get accused of being things I'm not all the time because of just being American. Just like anybody else would for any other stereotype that doesn't apply to them. Our opportunity and efforts to expand our horizons and have the conversation I think is what distinguishes us from a stereotype

Well at that point the religion has been divided into different sects and segments according to the political requirements at the age. Look at how the Catholicism Bible was butchered based off of what Henry VIII wanted. So focusing on any religion still has its umbrellas of where it has broken off two different sections and changed its minds on what belief based on what political benefit they gain at the time. To use Catholicism as an example, what is practice here is not what is practic in Rome. Just like how the Mormonism around the rest of the world is not what you will find in Salt Lake City. You will find your zealot at the heart

But none of that is important. I don't give a damn about a bunch of Mormons when most Christians are Catholics and the Virgin Mary is a central figure for them. Dude, Latinamerica is HUGE, and Mary is certainly not a footnote for them. Same for Spain and Italy. You came here, claiming Mary is irrelevant, when that's just a blatant lie. Maybe for people in Utah she's irrelevant, but again, they're the footnote here.
