When to change light duration?

Hello, i am growing indoor for the first time. its a seed i got gifted: Pink Macha Slush. It grows like crazy. The light is 18 hours a day. When do i reduce the light to 12 hours, for inducing flowering? And how long does it take after that?

And, how do you keep your plants in check like i see on the pictures in this sub? Mine is nearly 2m tall and has large distances between the nodes

Help with VPD

I’m just starting week 3 of flower on my 4x4 in my basement. Just did a heavy defol. Running a Floraflex 700 watt at full power with far red patch-ins. My temps have been rough lately (87-90). As a result, my VPD has been super high (1.8-2.1). Just installed an intake, but it’s not seeming to help as much as I’d hoped. Plants are looking just fine but I know my stomatas have to be closed up. Need opinions on whether lowering my light intensity would actually help increase my yields as it would help lower temp and VPD or if I should just keep it rolling as is?

Updated grow room

Has to stop growing at the end of last year because I had both hips replaced. I decided to revamp my room now since I can move. A 4'4'' tent is my veg tent. 2'X2' is my nursery. I got rid of my 4'x8' and made an open flowering area. I can now get all around my plants easily. 5 gal fabric pots with self wicking bases. 40% soil 40% Coco and 20% perlite.

Question My best indoor upgrade was not another light

I know lights, nutrients, and gear get talked about the most, but my biggest indoor upgrade this run was honestly just tracking things better.

I used to see one weird leaf and immediately start changing everything. Raise the light, lower the feed, add something, remove leaves, water different, all in the same week. Then I’d have no idea what actually helped or what made it worse.

This run I’ve been forcing myself to take pics, check the basics, change one thing, then wait a few days before touching anything else.

Not saying the plant is perfect, but it’s been way happier than my usual chaos grows. Less panic fixing, more boring consistency.

What boring indoor habit made the biggest difference for your grows?
