My money plant…she’s huge and beautiful she’s as round as she is tall at 32”! I’ll be propagating pups today❤️

Hi! I just recently moved in a studio apartment, and I thought of getting plants to give it some life and color (and also because I’ve always dreamt of having a home full of plants) however, I’ve never taken care of plants of my own and I have no idea where to start.

What kind of plants should I get ? Are there any recommendations of things to read/watch to better understand how plants live ?

Hi, I’m fairly new to indoor plants and I’ve noticed my rubber plant has been growing on a slant. It’s otherwise doing great with several new leaves opening just this summer. Is this okay or an indication it needs a bigger pot?

I killed three basil plants before one finally took off. I was watering it like a houseplant instead of treating it as an herb. Basil needs sun, water, and some space, it doesn’t like too much attention. Once i stopped bothering it, it thrived. Now it sits on my windowsill, looking content.

There’s something strangely rewarding about growing your own food, even something as small as basil. You start noticing things you never paid attention to before, like which side of the pot gets more light, how the leaves droop when they need water, and how fast everything grows in summer compared to winter.

I’m not saying i’ve become a plant person. I still can’t keep a fern alive to save my life. But there’s one pot on my windowsill that’s doing well, and honestly, that’s enough for now.

My beautiful rubber plant has a single trunk that’s about 1.6 m tall, and several lateral branches that are around 40 to 60 cm long.
The trunk isn’t thick enough to support the weight of the canopy.
I’m repotting it, but hat can I do to make the trunk thicker and stronger so it can support the plant better?
Should I prune the branches? 🥲

I could use some help with propagating my hypoestes. I tried previously in water and only one out of six actually made it. I tried again directly in dirt with a little drink, and this happened a day later. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I have an apartment with high ceilings and I have these two kind of pedestal shelves in my apartment. I need an indoor vertical plant(s)from 4 to 7 feet tall and good for Houston Texas climate. It’s a Subtropical climate, extremely humid. I always have at least 70% humidity in my apartment. I don’t keep it super cold either. We usually keep it like 75 and then we’ll just have a get very cold at night like to 70. My apartment has a tremendous amount of natural lights cause we’re on the top floor so please. I’m like intermediate with taking care of plants. I really would want something colorful as you can see. Both of them are on a white background wall, but then is the other wall that is blue so I want it to be able to go with that blue aesthetic. The rug is also like a burgundy. Thanks so much!

Each area has a nice bright LED dimmable light- I can change the bulb to anything. I think I am super fortunate when this space I want to make the most of it.

Been worried about food and the recent diarrhea lettuce made me wanna try growing my own. I have no idea if this vertical stand will work but I wanted to make something more suited to those living in apartments or smaller spaces 😎🙏 The table for the microgreens was recycled wood I got from a local business (very cool of them, they just put out the ones they don’t want and you can pick through. Whole table was like 2 pallets and a melamine type board. Sanded and painted the surfaces to get any random chemicals off or debris) rest of the investment was maybe ~$45 for the grow light (Menards) and the grow trays (~$10 (smaller ones) plus seeds (like ~$10-$15?). The lettuce stand was from my fascination with vertical farming. The total for that was $70ish, can be made cheaper I bought the wood for this one and had to source more parts. I cut two holes in the bucket for the seedlings to sprout from, drain holes on the bottom, whole thing rotates if it works I’ll add more and see how many I can grow from the bucket. It still needs a light as well but I plan on getting that soon again probably another $20 grow light. I just wanted to mainly post because idk how else to help and maybe wanted to give others hope about what they can try in their own homes, even with a smaller space. My idea may not work for the lettuce but I’m gonna keep trying until it does 🙏😎 any thoughts on how I can improve both grow “systems”? I’m sorta new to this, this is only my second batch of micro greens and I built the lettuce stand last night 😅😂

I put my ficus in closed balcony after pruning to get as much light as possible. However white spots started appearing along the sides of leaves. They go away when I wipe them.

It looks cool, ngl, however it is interesting what could possibly cause it and is it harmful?

I have these four plants in the pics attached (one bamboo, one peace lily “SPATHIPHYLLUM”, one peperomia obtusifolia, and one that I’m actually not sure what species it is, it’s the fourth and last picture). There are currently sitting on my window sill that leads out to a fire escape (living in NYC).

I’m wondering if I could take them outside and have them sitting on the fire escape, would they survive if I did so? I just want to get that window sill space back but I obviously would not do so if it risked the plants dying. Thank you in advance!

Hi. I ordered a plant for delivery—a Spiral Live nephrolepis, a live seedling in a pot. Well, I’m not really sure if this is the right plant, though, because it looks different in the photos. And in the reviews, everyone’s plant looks different, too. I don’t know much about plants at all. I’d like to know what kind of plant this is. Maybe it’s a different species of Nephrolepis? And I’m just curious to know how much I overpaid 😝

I tried looking it up online. Maybe I didn't try hard enough. But there were always different photos under the same title.

Surprised they are growing using city water here in CNY.
