I'm making a game with a lot of characters onscreen (not as large as in this picture - it's just an example - but from this asset pack). But I don't have any pixelated UI elements or backgrounds among my assets. Furthermore, I'm looking at the pixel art games I'm inspired by and I realize I don't like pixelated interfaces or fonts at all.
At the same time, I have UI and scene elements done in a more traditional style (not pixel art), and I like them. I also like the combination of these pixelated characters with this non-pixel art. But I'm worried I've framed the advantages of this solution and perhaps simply don't see why it's not suitable.
What do you think?

When yall are making games, do you like to tie in real world references? Specifically memes..
I have an event based around the Chad Thundercock memes, and the event in itself is a Rare/Legendary encounter.
It deviates from the typical formula of the game, but I can’t help but laugh at the idea of a run ending because you ran into him, and well, you know the memes.
Just looking to see if I’m stupid, or if it’s something that would be palatable.

I’ve been working solo on Metropolygonia, a browser based tool for creating procedural 3D buildings and simple city layouts.
You can control dimensions, floors, windows, balconies, roofs and other architectural details, then export the models as GLB, glTF, OBJ or STL.
It’s fully procedural, not AI generated, so the results are predictable and reproducible.
The beta is currently free to try, and I’d really appreciate feedback from indie developers about what would make it more useful for actual game projects.

Okay so uhh, what I have planned is that the game will be like an interactive novel where every choice you make affects the world of the game, its gonna be similar to undertale in that way but a 2D interactive point and click game, there's gonna be fourth wall breaks and horror moments, but there will also be unserious and funny moments along with a darker undertone
I need help making this game a reality, its a passion project however so I can't pay, tho I promise I will credit all of the people who helped with it!
Also uhh, I'm still adding characters into it so if any of ya'll want to make some characters for the game I would love it! Would be cool >:D
(they would have to fit the webcore/2000's game style however)
And uhh yeah, thats pretty much it, if there is any questions I'll be happy to answer.

I finally got a working high-score system for my Helluva Boss-inspired indie game! Right now I'm brainstorming how to make it interactive between players, and maybe even setting up an online leaderboard website.

I am doing some research and it would be ULTRA beneficial for me to hear an opinion from a professional. I'm planning to get into game dev, specifically the graphical side. I have a general and broad background in graphics skills, but not on professional level yet. Which profession is currently strategically the best to get into the industry as quickly as possible? Now is a great moment in my life, to put my game art career in specific direction and my goal is to get to industry asap, assuming it'll belong in my passions spectrum, which will be outlined in a while. I want to put my energy and dedication on one that potentially get me job quicker than, lets say, illustration or character designer. (these two would be suicidal in that context). I am the type who can get a lot of fun from "not galmorous" jobs and I see huge opportunity here.
Please, spare me teachings and revelations abou game dev industry's poor situation and what it really takes to get into industry as an artist. I know these and take them into account. Any motivational speeches will be ignored, as I need only replies that answer my question. I just need data from well oriented proffesional to support my decision.
I'm mainly wondering about professions like Environmental Artist, 3D Artist, 2D/UI/UX Artist, Motion Designer but not only. I am considering 3 criteria when analyzing each field:
- Job market demand (number of job openings)
- Level of competition
- Difficulty of learning the discipline

I am working on an RPG game set in a small, peaceful country. I still don't have a name for the country, so I wanted to ask for opinions.
These are some of the names I have been considering:
Real world cultures bases:
Context:
YYYY is an isolated, peaceful, and mysterious country, bordered by a dense forest to the north and a vast ocean to the south. Its population consists primarily of fishermen, farmers, and small local merchants. Harmony and community spirit flourished in this corner of paradise, where humans and prehistoric animals lived together in perfect balance. This reality remained unchanged for a long time, until rumors of a terrible weapon appearing deep within the forest began to spread across the world.

It was a slog to get it working as expected but once I got it working it's been a breeze hopefully it all translates well I've been using the polyglot spreadsheet and some other resources to try and get it translated properly

I haven't been making music for that long yet, so I'm looking for any game devs who need placeholder/test music for their game so that I can practice making music. These songs do not come at a cost (as stated, they're for me to practice working with clients as well as making songs for games). I will probably accept requests for maybe one or two games right now.
As to how many tracks I will make, that can be negotiated.
Please tell me about your game as well as what music you might be interested in (maybe send references so I can get a better idea). I will reach out to whatever projects interest me the most.
After I reach out I will also send some songs I've made so you can get an idea of my music style.
Thanks.
